2.5/5 I mean it's Applebee's. I feel like everyone should know what to expect at this restaurant by now. Much of the menu is just pre frozen food versus done in-house but guised as a true sit down restaurant. If you go in with expectations to the floor chances are you'll be pleasantly surprised. The good: this location in particular the few and far between times I've been has always had good service. My orders have never been incorrect nor has the temperature ever been cold. 2 for 25 in this economy is a great deal with plenty of options. The bad: the food of course is just "OK." Skip the spin dip-- it used to be good but something has changed with it over the years and not for the better. Burgers and sandwiches are a safe bet. If you do anything beyond that like the pastas and steaks you are definitely running the risk of disappointment. The building has that like-- "well-loved" quality to it. And that's the nicest way I can put it. There's always a surface somewhere that's a little sticky, the floor maybe the walls have kinda a musty smell that older restaurants just adopt over time. It's been over 20 years since I had been ro Applebee's. The food has gotten a little better. The service at Applebee's was a little slow since they were super busy, but all in all ,they did a good job getting everyone seated and fed. We came here with our wrestling team after the Southern Plains Regional tournament at Kansas Star. The boys really enjoyed it. I really loved the margarita . It was big and perfectly balanced. The fish and chips was a good portion, I actually had leftovers which I hardly ever do. We had a great time . The prices were reasonable and they also give military discount as well. I was, admittedly, swayed by a commercial during football that showed Applebees new "Cajun menu items" or whatever. They looked appetizing and I was starving. My girlfriend was kind enough to pick the food up at the restaurant, brought it home and...it was awful. There was as no "Cajun" seasoning or ANYTHING that was done in a type of creole style to this food. It was inedible shrimp (that looked and tasted like it had gone bad), "andouille" sausage (that was barely present) and overdone chicken atop a creamy, bland sauce over pasta. The veggies included were basically raw instead of being sautéed and the included bread was mush. I am NOT one to complain usually but given the price tag to these two meals and how COMPLETELY inedible this all was, I called and complained. I was told I was speaking to a manager who REALLY didn't believe me that I found this food so bad. She proceeded to tell me that they had sold "over 30 of these dishes tonight" and "everyone" loved it. I really didn't want to come off as a jerk or a Karen so I politely laughed and just kept reiterating how bad this was and just wanted to tell Someone. She then offered to "send me some coupons" for a free future meal or something. I gave her my complete name and address and (completely unsurprising) three weeks later I still have yet to receive these "coupons" even though I live less than 5 minutes from this place. I hadn't been to an Applebees in forever (because of their bland food) and this commercial tricked me into trying their new menu item. Yes, that's on me but you don't have to suffer the same mistake. No problems until order was picked up and 3 minutes later the text shows up telling me the order was cancelled and to call the restaurant. I did so and the manager of the day tells me it was picked up and the person had left. I told her what the text said and she said she was sorry and would refund my money and to contact DoorDash. 4 phone calls, emails and even reporting it to my credit card company and still no refund. Our family had gone there tonight. Our food came out cold (Mac and cheese). It was so cold that the cheese didn't even melt. When a manager came around, the hourly manager told us that he would take it back and nuke it. The chicken was so tough, it took a steak knife and fork to cut it. My shrimp was not even hot. Our waitress didn't even offer us refills on our drinks. What was really the stunning thing is that our waitress spilled a drink on a man and it took a long time to get it cleaned up. Their saving grace is that there were several young women to help an elderly couple and their grandchild to get dry. We left at the same time they did and asked if their meal was bad too, it was to them also. We asked if they even comped them for the embarrassment for the spilled drink and they weren't. We have been here recently 3 different times and every time it was bad. The service was excellent, the restaurant itself was very clean. The tables were bust and the weight staff was very efficient. The downside was when we ordered an appetizer and then ordered our meal, we received our meal and no appetizer. Because we received the meal, we canceled the appetizer and they still tried to charge us for it. When we brought it to their attention, they went in the back and brought out our appetizer as we were ready to leave, and then try to insist that we pay the full bill. Normally, Applebee's is outstanding. Today, not so much. Maybe because it was rainy and dismal, I don't know. The waitress was cheery and delightful. Bless her heart, she told me the steak came with potatoes but they were nowhere on the plate. Immediately, she offered some for free. I gladly accepted, though my husband acquiesced. He said we'd be finished before they arrived, but the potatoes arrived mid- plate. We had the steak with grains from the pub menu. I'm not a spinach eater, because canned is nasty, but the leafy spinach was cooked to perfection with the barley and seasoned tomatoes. Sadly, I am no longer allowed to consume alcohol or soda pop, so I drank water, which our waitress kept filled. She never wavered from her chipper attitude throughout the entire meal. We tipped her well for that. We had a coupon which doesn't work on weekends, but she found a way to get around it. We were grateful for that and it added to her tip. read more

I don't come here very often but I tend to enjoy myself when I do. I'm typically here with friends for half priced appetizers and a cheap beer late night. I recommend the half priced apps for late night! Servers are kind and attentive. Apps and desserts taste good. I don't come here for any of their dinners because I didn't enjoy them when I did.... but I'm a picky eater. Great late night and happy hour specials. It's pretty difficult to eat a salad and mashed potatoes with our fingers.... We got it worked out after acquire a wait for hotel staff to search the kitchen for plastic ware. I reported the incident to the store, & corporate responded; their response was immediate and sincere. Store Mgr followed up & made a generous gift card adjustment for our inconvenience. I ordered the 12 oz. ribeye. It came with delicious mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. The steak was cooked to order perfectly. However it was the worst steak I've had in years. It was extremely tough, and barely marbleized. Not sure what to make of it. I wouldn't serve that meat to my guests, especially paying ones. On a positive note, the beer was ice cold!!! Uhhh, Again, I decided to order food again to be fair. I chose the brisket enchiladas. They were the size of tacquitos. Just very minuscule. The rice was bland, but I expected that. For 13 bucks, I could have eaten at a local Mexican restaurant and been stuffed to the gills with take home. I just am not a fan of Applebee's, except for some drinks, and maybe an appetizer. I have been critical about the food, as it was not very good. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, minus the bacon ranch dressing. It was cooked medium perfectly to my order, and it was seared perfectly. Came in around 5 pm today. It was clean and has a rustic atmosphere. We sat in the booth. The host is friendly. Our server Madelyn is fast and helpful. We had spinach and artichoke dip and chicken wonton tacos for appetizers. Spinach artichoke is ok but the tortilla chips are mixed of stale and crunchy chips. However the chicken wonton tacos are amazing. I highly recommend this app and would order this again and again. I got Parmesan sirloin and shrimp with beans and fries and my husband got the quesadilla burger. I was actually hoping for a larger than what I got meal for what it's priced. Shrimp and steak are cooked perfectly but the sauce or Parmesan that they mixed is a little salty. I tried my husband's entree too and woow it is so delicious. It was a good experience and we'll be coming back. Went to the women's restroom and it's fairly clean. read more

This is by far the WORST restaurant I have EVER been to. The staff is more concerned with you being upset with them and disliking them than actually taking your order or seating you. There are 8 people currently working and they are standing around talking to one another. The manager had to come take our order because we have been waiting for almost a half hour to put in our order. The hostess has repeatedly come over to make sure we aren't mad at her... The couple next to us hasn't received their food yet and they have been here LONGER than we have... We have now been her for an hour and a half and just received our food. Only part of it is correct. Horrible...Horrible...Horrible Do not come to this restaurant unless you have a year to wait and have the patience to deal with incompetent people. I would give this restaurant less than star. I want to start by saying Rebekah Did great ( our server ). I have managed , served , bartended , cooked. Done everything in the food service for 10 years. Our host was very rude and scuffed and rolled his eyes over every thing possible when he was seating us. So not a great start. The server was nice , attentive, and fast. Half way through my husbands salmon he made a weird face and we saw that the salmon was raw in the middle. Which is beyond disgusting. Ruined our appetite. Under/ over cooked steak , not that big of a deal to me. But to get undercooked fish really just shows that they weren't temping the food before serving weather it be the cooks or the expo. We were compensated with them taking off 10$ and replacing the salmon with chicken like we asked. But honestly, the manager didn't seem like she cared too much. But she was kind. Pros: the 550 cal steak meal I had was excellent, they cooked it perfectly to my order. It was actually so good that my husband wanted to abandon his burger for it. We were seated very quickly. The food and bill came very quickly as well. Cons: The waitress was visibly exhausted. She told us she was working a double shift and that she would be doing several doubles in a row over the next few days. Now I don't like hearing this on multiple levels. 1. If she was working a double of her own free will, then I think she needs to do a better job of looking like she wants to be there (its depressing to eat when the wait staff is so meh on everything) 2. If she was forced or coerced in anyway to do the double shift(s) well that's just not cool. It takes a lot out of people working at a restaurant and if the wait staff isn't appreciated, then how can the customer expect any more? This is our second time going here, and honestly it is better than the east side location. The service is great and friendly. Our server impressed my fiancé, and it takes a lot to impress him with service. Our server keeps checking on us any chance he gets. My fiancé's drink would be half full, and he would get his refill.
