We had a really disappointing experience with Appliance Guys. They came out on June 6 to look at our older ovens and diagnosed both as needing new thermostats. We paid the $95 house call fee and were told we'd receive a full estimate by the following Monday. That estimate never came. I tried following up multiple times--called the technician (no answer), texted him twice (no response), and even called their main number (310-382-7015). When I finally got someone on the line and explained the situation, he assured me I'd get the estimate. Still have received nothing. They just took the $95 fir being here for 10 minutes and ghosted us. No follow-up, no accountability, no repair. Can't recommend them at all. read more

My subzero freezer light was off and control panel was not responsive and ice maker not operating. I called this service vendor two weeks ago and the initial visit was uneventful. He quoted me a price and stated we would start off with changing the panel first and needed to do defrosting. He told me he needed to order the part and would contact me when the part's here Here's the odd part of the the whole experience. I got a call 12 something midnight and I didn't pick up the call. When I called this number back in the morning, it was Mark the appliance guy. It's not that big of a deal so we made an arrangement for him to come the next day. He came an hour late out of the 3 hours window he provided, and then he replaced the panel and used a steamer to defrost my freezer. Light was back on and he said we should let the ice maker go on for 24 hours to see if it's making ice, and if needed we would need to make more diagnosis. The next day the light was off again and the icemaker is leaking water. I texted him and he said he would come again and take a look. Couple days later, I got a text from him around 830pm and asked if he could come over around 10pm. I was thinking if we need to get it fixed, it's better be now and I don't want to postpone it longer. I cleaned up my fridge and waited for him. Around 11pm, I texted him and he said he's just finishing a job and he's 45 minutes away. I texted him we'd better reschedule since I could not wait for him til midnight to work on my fridge. He didn't text back so around 1145pm I called him. He picked up the phone, didn't sound like he's in the car, did not apologize and did not say anything about the missed appointment. I asked him if we were rescheduling and he simply said he would come next week. One week passed by I texted him and he's not responding anymore. At this point I didn't pursue contacting him again because there's no point asking him to work on my fridge anymore, either he will provide more misdiagnosis or he will mess up my fridge more. This whole experience looking for a subzero repair is horrible. There are so many unprofessional and unethical repairmen out there. The whole idea of labeling subzero repair in their ads is that they thought it's a easy scam for these people who's willing to spend 5 figures for a fridge, so they wouldn't mind paying thousand of dollars for a simple repair. P.S. I found a local repair guy who spent 2 hours on my fridge and finally figured out it's the broken fan blade that caused all the problems. So my final piece of advice, stay away from this vendor. read more

While I knew there was an $85 consultation fee that gets applied to the cost of any work that needs to be done, The quoted cost of $550 to replace rollers on our dryer felt too much. So we ended up paying $85 just to be told it will cost $550, which we opted not to spend, and that feels like a rip off. He said it's because of the placement of the dryer and it will take 2 guys to handle it, but the other outfit I've used in the past traveled with 2 guys and didn't charge extra for it. I can't help wonder if the $550 was pulled out of thin air and influenced by seeing our house is undergoing a big renovation and therefore the thought is we have a big budget set aside for home repairs/improvements at the moment, and therefore the price was adjusted higher than it would normally have been. We're going with a more affordable outfit... just wish we hadn't thrown away $85 to get absolutely nothing for it. read more

I purchased a Fulgor Milano Sofia Pro 36" Dual Fuel range and when it was delivered both side panels had damage and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer and the retailer were both very cooperative, but locating somebody willing (and able) to do the work on a more high-end range was not easy. My old, white side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator was making some odd sounds, so I took a chance and cold called the Appliance Guys based on the great Yelp! reviews. I am now adding mine. Mark sent someone out within a day of my calling. The repairman, Andres was prompt and courteous. He brought his own shoe coverings, which was much appreciated since I have wall to wall carpeting. In a very short time he diagnosed the problem as the compressor. He also confirmed that my appliance was indeed old - like 30 years! He advised that a new compressor was very expensive and may not be worth replacing. I agreed, plus I have been wanting to buy a new refrigerator for a while. Sadly, due to the pandemic, production of both Amana and Whirlpool 21 cu" refrigerators has stopped, so even back ordering one, much less buying one is currently impossible. No problem. They texted back (that day or the following) with an appointment time, which didn't work or me, so I asked for another option. They never responded, but I was out of town so it wasn't a big deal. I followed up with a phone call when I was back in town and they asked me to text again, which I did. Fortunately, this time we could agree on an appointment time. MY SERVICE: Had them come out for a leaking washer + dishwasher draining issue, and while here Mark was kind enough to look at an oven light I couldn't figure out. Two of the things I thought were issues weren't and he just reset a couple buttons and ran a drain cycle on my dishwasher... no charge. Really appreciated that they were trying to upsell. They diagnosed my washer issue, which needed a new part and suggested I have some coils cleaned in my fridge. They had to order the part and come back to install. My girlfriend's freezer seemed to be losing coldness. I thought maybe she had left the freezer door open. I called the appliance guys and told them what was happening, and if the door had been open, how long would it take to refreeze. He told me approximately 10 hours. We arranged to have a technician come out the next day between 10 and one on Monday.The next morning I texted them back and told them the freezer was definitely out. I had already told them it was an LG refrigerator, side-by-side. I even sent him a picture of the fridge so he would know which one it was. When the technician arrived, he wasn't even in a truck, just a passenger car. I met him outside and said where is your truck,. Kevin told me all the parts he needed we're from the backseat to the trunk. Kevin examined our fridge, said the compressor was out, we told him to fix it. Over 90% of the time when a freezer goes out, it's the compressor . I'm not a refrigerator repair guy, but I've had two LG's, and it was the compressor each time. The technician said he did not have the compressor in stock and cannot get the part for 4 to 5 days. I asked him how does this help us with food going bad. Nothing last 4 to 5 days. They should've had an LG compressor in the back of his car to be able to repair the problem, it not tell us it's broken which we already knew. He did not come prepared, except to take our money for nothing. $125 for nothing. We lost 300 worth of food, and had to buy a new fridge. read more

I should have listened to my gut instinct when they didn't show up for our appointment to fix our washing machine without any notice whatsoever. I followed up with THEM to inquire as to why nobody showed up, and never received a proper explanation but they said they could come late AM next day. We have a busy household with clients around daily & our washer was fill of water/ not draining so we were in a bind. Mark arrived next morning, told me the rotor needed fixing, then gave me a quote for over $600. He said it was so high because he'd need to get a "second technician" to help him move the dryer on top so he could access the rotor area in the washing machine but that it would be half the cost if that wasn't needed. He made it seem like it was a big difficult task. I should mention that I'm a petite blonde female & am used to technicians trying to overcharge me/ think I'm clueless lol. I grabbed a male employee from downstairs to see if he could help, and literally all he had to do was help tilt / push the dryer back about 8" and it took 1 minute Wa lah - problem solved and $300 saved.. magical! He fixed the rotor pretty quickly, I paid via venmo & then he left. It was then that I discovered that the entire floor by the washing machine was sopping wet (even though I'd given him plenty of large towels/ a bucket as he'd asked for) and the vent to the dryer hadn't been reconnected so it was lying in the water, along with the electrical cords!! So I had to get help to safely clean up his huge mess & reconnect the vent. WORST experience ever!!!! Spend your $ on techs who actually care about providing quality service read more

Really nice guy and excellent service. You wouldn't think appliance repair could be so complicated but it was. Our refrigerator went out after 13 years of consistent service. Won't turn on and also trips the GFCI outlet when you plug it in. I tried resetting the breakers and also reading some diagnostic guides online but this was clearly a job for a professional. I called around a whole bunch of places and most were charging either high diagnostic fees or high repair fees (half-the cost of the fridge). Many didn't even service our area yet they showed up on Yelp. The worst ones were the ones who didn't even read our quote and asked me automated questions with a machine: - what's your name? - what's your problem? - where do you live? - what brand/model of refrigerator do you have? I was so lucky enough to find Markus! 2-minutes on the phone. He had a few basic but probing questions and said he could look at it the same day. He arrived 2 hours later and you could tell this guy was super busy but he got straight to work right away. Pulled stuff out, looked at everything and while he didn't have the necessary replacement part, he got our refrigerator working!!! HOORAY...we can now have groceries again! (It's been like this for a week.) Fantastic great customer service. Explained every little bit, and even cleaned up the mess around the fridge (unlike other handymen/repair-people).
