I used this company about three months ago and recently needed service on my dryer again. Russ was the technician, and based on my experience with him, I would absolutely use this company again. He clearly explained what needed to be done and was both thorough and efficient throughout the repair. He handled the dryer with care, respected my home and workspace, and cleaned up so well afterward that I think my floors looked better than before he arrived. These days, it can be difficult not to feel like people are taking advantage of you, but I never felt that way with Russ. His honesty, professionalism, and character are truly rare to find. read more

I initially left a one-star review because though their responsiveness and timeliness were impeccable, the flat rate estimate was $69 and the actual service came to $199. But I am changing this to five stars because the owner, Emil, actually called to apologize, explain the miscommunication, and offer a refund which was unexpected but truly appreciated. This is clearly a business who values their customer's experience, and I highly recommend trusting them with your service needs. I worked as an appliance repair subcontractor for this company, and I can't recommend them. The technicians and operators I dealt with day-to-day were genuinely good people -- that's not the issue. The problem is management. Parts ordering was a constant failure on their end: jobs would get scheduled without the necessary parts ever being ordered, which meant I was the one stuck in front of an unhappy client trying to sort it out on the spot, over and over again. It came to a head when the company simply stopped paying me what I was owed under our signed subcontractor agreement. When I pushed for payment, I found out they had terminated the agreement retroactively -- after the fact -- which looked like a deliberate move to avoid paying me for work already completed. One more thing customers should know: management repeatedly pressured technicians to pad invoices and add unnecessary charges, specifically to squeeze more money out of clients. I wasn't willing to do that, and it's not something any customer should have to worry about. Good field team, management I'd steer clear of -- as a contractor or as a customer. read more

At first I thought this was going to be a very good experience. They repair person arrived on time, after speaking with the booking operator. He got straight to work on my dryer and had it running already for me to check. All seemed well. He left and I ran my first load... well the dryer wouldn't start. I had to hold down the start button and eventually it ran. But then there was a very weird smell. So I called the number and somewhere between the me the operator and the technician things went very wrong. They asked for a video. Sent it. I asked the operator to send the technician back the next day. They refused to saying my start issue was a new issue not what they just worked on. Okay so please send out the technician to fix the new issue. According to the operator the technician just flat out denied that he had anything to do with this new issue and refused to come back to assess. Im not sure where the miscommunication was coming from. I just wanted anyone to come back and fix my dryer. Suddenly this company wanted nothing to do with the repair. There was about 1 hour of back and forth. I eventually called another company to fix this "new" issue. I didn't mention what was wrong when the new company came out. I just told him the dryer is having a hard time starting. He said whoever reinstalled my dryer drum set it in incorrectly and it was causing the interference with starting and that also had to do with the smell because something was rubbing together. He readjusted it, no problem and apologized for the this company not coming back out to look at their work. He said that should not have been an issue. Well I found a new washer/dryer repair place, not this company. I Do Not recommend this company, second life is second rate. Avoid them or have potential to get the run around if you need them to come back. read more

Unprofessional. Took $$$ ($200) Had us wait 2.5 weeks (supposed to be 3-5 business days) to come back with the "part" just to trip the wire and blow up our socket. Left with nothing done and now a non-functioning outlet. Returned $140 since the issue wasn't remedied. I had to call every day to check in on the status just for nothing. ***BEWARE - SCAM ALERT*** I paid $489 for a fridge repair that solved nothing. On Aug 18, I paid $245 upfront or they wouldn't order the part. On Aug 23, the tech installed a part that came in a plain cardboard box with no branding or model number, only a handwritten code, and swore it was "100% OEM." I called the office while he was onsite; they promised transparency but refused to provide part details. The tech threatened to uninstall the part unless I paid the remaining $244 immediately, so I paid under pressure. The issue never improved. The same tech came back Sept 1, cleaned dust that should have been addressed on visit #1, and changed his story, saying the heat was "normal." After weeks of follow-ups, the office finally said part info was "internal" and they would not provide proof of what I paid for. Industry standard is to disclose part numbers and OEM/aftermarket status. The only reason to withhold it is because they charged OEM prices for an aftermarket part. Don't trust their "new customer promo" -- if they don't rip you off the first time, they will the second. So now I'm out $489, the issue hasn't been fixed, and I've got an aftermarket part that will probably fail in the next few months. All thanks to Second Life. STAY AWAY!!! read more

Found them on yelp and requested service for my old Thermador freezer. The top part of my freezer kept icing. This was in April. They told me the cost to repair and I gave them $873. They've been here 4xs and the problem hasn't gone away-- it's now distributed to a different part of the freezer. It's now August and now they're ghosting me. Victor the tech is a nice guy but I want my freezer fixed and they did not do it. I wish they were just honest and said "this is all we can do at this point" instead of ghosting me. Or just tell me I need a new freezer. read more

I contacted Second Life about an issue with our Samsung dishwasher. They were able to send someone out on a Sunday to fix the issue. Sergey (the tech) was punctual and professional, and was able to fix the issue in less than two hours. I would use Second Life again for sure. read more

Called for my fridge to be repaired. Misdiagnosed the issue with the fridge saying that it only required a cleaning and the problem would be resolved. The problem was not resolved and when later questioned, the company said "we are unable to repair the refrigerator because we could not locate the necessary replacement parts for your specific refrigerator brand." Clearly the true problem was known but we were incorrectly charged for a cleaning. All he did was vacuum the back and charged $250 for this service. They are unwilling to resolve there mess up as they said there is no warranty since this was a cleaning service. Stay away they will make up any excuse to make money. read more

Took ~$160, made the problem worse, had a flood in my kitchen after they supposedly fixed the leaking fridge problem. I have all of my correspondence with them asking for a fix, or a refund. I've called them, just to get a run around that 'they've ordered a part and will call me when it's ready.' No acknowledgement of the property damage, request for a refund, or the fact that they created an even larger problem and then did not even bother to return phones calls to fix it. It's a bummer, because I used them a few years ago for another property I own, and it seemed to work out okay. Was hoping to use them for my personal residence. Great customer support from the phone calls and texts, and the technician did great work. I had a busted freezer gasket, reached out via Yelp message on a Friday, got a good quote ($59 cheaper than the others) for a consultation visit. Vladimir arrived, assessed what we needed, and put in an order. The part arrived to Second LIfe in a manner of days, and by next Friday he returned and installed the part after we (and he further, onsite) defrosted the freezer in less than an hour and a half. I called Second Life LLC, DBA Authorized Services to repair a warrantied refrigerator. They claimed to be an authorized services affiliate of Dacor, and should have diagnosed and serviced the device under the manufacturer warranty. They ended up misdiagnosing the issue (claiming it was a faulty control board, when it was actually an unrelated electrical issue). They charged me for the misdiagnosis, and tried to charge me for parts and labor for an issue that didn't exist, and would not have fixed the appliance. I would have selected zero stars if this was an option. Do not bother contacting this company to fix any appliance under warranty, or expect them to diagnose the issue correctly. read more

When your dishwasher decides not to work the day before Thanksgiving, you reach out and pray someone will answer. Second Life responded right away and send a technician out within the hour. Paul was great! He was professional, explained what he was doing and took his time to figure out what was going on. Of course the dishwasher was fine, but he did make suggestions on what soap to use, cleaning out the filter every week and rinsing dishes before putting into the dishwasher, to make sure everything would run accordingly. He cleaned the air gap and also cleaned out the drain pipe so everything would flow accordingly. While we were waiting for the dishwasher to cycle, we talked about our cats. My cats liked Paul and went up to him for pets. He showed me pictures of his. Great guy and knowledgeable! He put everything back when he was done. I paid $189 for the entire service and it was worth every penny! Highly recommend Second Life! And I'm thankful I don't have to wash dishes on Thanksgiving!!!!!! read more

They were prompt in response time and the technician, Samil (so sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong, friend!) was knowledgeable and handled the issue easily. Though the issue was just simply clearing out a clogged drain hose, he also took the time to swap out the hoses for new, longer ones I had purchased ages ago but never got around to changing. In his repair, he also managed to fix an issue I didn't even know I had-- my sink was leaking water from the hose connector for the dishwasher and now there's no dripping water or mist spraying all over my counters. I used yelps service to find an appliance person same day for our dryer that was not heating! I had at least 5 companies messaging and I went with Second Life. Boy am I happy I did! The service tech was really young but wow was he knowledgeable and explained things so clearly. He even showed me exactly what was wrong and assured me he would be able to fix it. The service call fee was reasonable same day service on a Saturday without weekend fee hike. The technician was very nice took time to look at the problem of the refrigerator not cooling. Gave us an estimate in writing. Somehow I think when the technician moved the ice making box from inside, and perhaps by shutting down and reconnecting back, the refrigerator started to work cooling even better than before. This does not seem reputable at all. A "service repair man" comes out to diagnose the problem for $120. Yet, he only barely looks into the refrigerator, he did not even glance into the machinery of the fridge. After 8 minutes of doing nothing, he gives me a quote of $1300 without ever even diagnosing the problem, or telling me what will be involved in fixing it. I asked, over and over what the diagnosis is? He could not answer. I paid for a diagnostic visit and was never provided a diagnosis, just verbal a list of all possible issues...which I could have Googled myself. So, the options are to pay for $1300 for who knows what? Or lose $120. Do not, I repeat, do not pay this company for a diagnostic visit. It is a scam. read more
