We were given a two hour window of time for arrival and Vladi was 5 minutes early! He got to work immediately and quickly diagnosed the problem. And then, he made the repairs, the whole time explaining what he was doing and what we could do to avoid the issue in the future. Additionally, I found the price to be very reasonable. I called them last week to arrange the repair of my washer. Diana on the phone told me that they would be coming on Tuesday at 3pm, so I relied on them and did not book anyone else. Last minute at 2pm on Tuesday, she messaged me to tell me that the technician could not come downtown! I called her and she did not seem bothered at all by the problem she had caused me. We had a double wall oven that needed some repairs. The repairs were completed, no issue there. However, the technician broke the oven door handle while doing the repairs. This was only discovered because he was found gluing the door handle to the door. After initially denying it, he agreed that a new door handle would be ordered and installed at no additional charge and that payment would not be due until this was done. (The glue did not hold and the door handle came off later that same day). A month later, the door handle was still not replaced and an invoice was sent showing an additional charge for the door handle. After a few unpleasant contacts, we are issuing the check for the initial service and marking this vendor "do not use again." read more

Just to be clear, we didn't actually get our Washer fixed by Appliance Repair team since they couldn't find anything wrong but wanted to leave a review for their great service. Called after a recommendation from a neighbor for a relatively new Samsung washer that showed some signs of leaking. They came same day though was later than given window. Technician spent about 30 minutes running the washer to try to reproduce the issue but could not and did not charge us for his time which we felt was very fair. I'm giving this a 2-star rating because the technician broke our oven door handle and agreed to replace it at no additional charge. Almost two months later, we still had not received a new handle, and the original invoice was revised to include the cost of the replacement. After several contacts with customer service and multiple requests to speak with a manager, a manager from the Appliance Repair team finally called--only after my boss left a 1-star review. The manager removed the extra charge for the handle and provided an additional discount, but this should not have taken nearly two months and multiple complaints to resolve. read more

I was so impressed with the service - the technician kept on working the problem and got to root cause rather than just stop at the obvious thing. I bet many other firms would have given up and told us to get a new oven. Our 3 year old Kenmore double oven broke. The technician quickly diagnosed it as a brunt out board and gave us the option of repairing or replacing the board. The technician comes back and replaces the board but the oven is stuck in demo mode. He takes another hour or so to try to diagnose the problem to no avail. He says he needs to check and come back when he has a better handle. He comes back a few days later and says the he suspects the electrical connection is the issue. He pulls the double oven out (they carry a rig!) and finds that the installer didn't properly tie the electrical wires together and it was likely arcing instead of making a good connection. read more

I worked with Dave on this fix- he was really great- both times to the house! The work was to fix a clothes dryer that my tenant reported was not working. The company was very cooperative in finding a meet time that worked for the tenant who was onsite. Dave arrived timely, determine what was needed and was in contact with me to ask if I wanted the new part ordered, and he could install the next day. His company provided the exact cost for the part and installation! Due to my delay, we met 2 days later- and he worked with me on my timing. He fixed the sensor, and described the strengths of the current machine. I had huge concerns I would have to purchase a new one, he said no need, with the sensor fix, lots of life still left. Summary: Quick service, but they weren't able to repair my fridge. When my fridge broke with an electrical short, they responded to my request for a quote in a few minutes and were able to have someone out within an hour. Amazing! John quickly replaced the main board, but that did not solve the problem. John didn't feel like he could fix the problem for less than the cost of a new refrigerator. I don't have a way to know whether he's right or not. It feels like refrigerators are simple enough machines that it should be repairable. It also feels odd to pay the service fee when they weren't able to do the repair (for less than the cost of the fridge). But maybe this is what excellent service looks like? read more

I only used them for diagnosis of an issue with my refrigerator. The technician was on time, clean, friendly and knowledgeable. I would have liked to use them for the repair, however I'm not willing to pay a near 100% markup on materials in addition to the labor costs. I was able to complete the repair myself in about 20 minutes and saved a ton of money by sourcing the needed parts myself. If any complaint I had, it would only be them marking up materials near 100%. Otherwise service was great. read more

We called for a repair service for a freezer that kept dripping. We genuinely didn't have high expectations as we chose quickly and figured we'd get up-charged! Honestly this was one of the best repair experiences we've had. Tom was the technician who came out to help us. He was extremely professional and took the time to explain to us what had failed and why. When the first repair didn't work out, Tom was probably more upset than we were! He nailed the second repair and it's genuinely been months and months (I forgot to write review...) of a perfectly repaired freezer. He even gave us specific tips on how it may have failed so that we might be careful in the future. Our cat also took quite the liking to him and would watch while Tom did repairs. The repair was of course, a bit expensive, but very reasonable. Appliance repairs are always going to cost a bit, but we felt we understood the cost as Tom took the time to explain the breakdown to us. My 3 year old Bosch dishwasher refused to drain and I called Appliance Repair Team first thing in the morning. Tom came to rescue at 11 AM. This is the second time in 3 months that Maxim has come out promptly, to save the day! In December he quickly diagnosed my furnace problem. Just needed a good clean and adjustment. My husband and I had such a horrible experience with this company. What they quoted us was so off of what we were charged, and I can't help but feel like they were taking advantage of the situation. My husband spoke with the technician during the diagnostic visit for two of our appliances. He was quoted $150 for the washer part and $50 for the dishwasher part, plus $20 for labor on each item. They told him that the labor is cheaper than the parts. He was also told we would receive a $140 credit that was the cost of the diagnostic visit. When the technician came back to do the repair, my husband was not able to be present, but I was. The technician was here for about an hour preforming the repairs, and when he was leaving he asked me to pay. I told him that I preferred to be invoiced, but he said it was better that I pay then. I should have trusted my gut, but I felt so uncomfortable and I just wanted him to leave. When I connected with my husband later we realized we were charged over $700! He immediately reached out to see if this was a mistake, and they told him it was the correct amount. Someone texted him later in the day and told him they would be willing to give us a $70 discount. First of all, a text? Secondly, that amount doesn't even cover the $140 they had already promised to take off per their own policy! read more
