Dishwasher repair. Dennis arrived on time and ready to work. He listened to my story and got to work diagnosing the problem. He found several pieces of glass from a broken water glass. I thought I had cleaned all the pieces, but apparently not. He cleaned up and left. That night I put a cycle on, and it stopped halfway into the cycle. I had to call Dennis back. He came two days later (my choice). And found more glass and had to blow out the line. It's working great again. I paid $135 for the first appointment and nothing for the second! On the Monday before Thanksgiving we discovered that our oven was having trouble holding temperature. It was very difficult to find someone with 1) availability before Thanksgiving, and 2) willingness to work on a Blue Star oven. Dennis from Eastside Appliance Repair answered our call and agreed to come out on Tuesday morning. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a failing igniter and demonstrated the issue. He then made the repair on the spot for a reasonable price. I particularly appreciated how Dennis walked me through the problem and explained his thinking. He did this both for the igniter issue and another problem we were having with one of the burners that we didn't have him fix. I recently used your services and paid a diagnosis fee of $75 because my refrigerator was fine. However, this time a different technician was sent and I was quoted almost $500 plus tax for a simple repair to keep the door closed properly so that no air can get into the refrigerator. I paid him $95.79 for the trip fee, but I will be looking for a different appliance repair technician. My credit card receipt was issued by "Seattle Appliance" and not "Eastside Appliance". Dennis from Eastside Applicance Repair was able to come out the same day to look at our broken Electrolux washer, which had displayed an error code and "call service" message, a locked door, and our family's clothes floating in water trapped inside. He called shortly before his arrival (which I appreciated) and he identified the issue as a failed drain pump and provided in writing the price it would be for parts and labor. He was able to replace the pump the same day. Dennis also recommended and installed a simple moisture detector behind our machine given our second floor laundry room to help avoid the big problems that we would have if we had a leak in the future. We were pleased with his professionalism, communication and cleanliness during the job (he wore booties on our carpets without us having to ask) and his cleanup of the laundry room at the end of the job. The pro for the company was ease of scheduling and that they were able to come out next day for diagnostic of our gas dryer which stopped heating. It took over an hour for him to take everything apart and he didn't know what the issue was. Said it could be our gas connection (which we know it wasn't) or could be the coils but he wasn't quite sure that was even the problem.. He verbally quoted me about $350 for the coils but didn't have them on him. I requested a written quote so we could decide whether to proceed and he said he'd email it that night...never heard from them again. So paid the diagnostic fee for not even a confident diagnosis. The whole thing felt like a rip off and waste of mine and his time. Would not recommend this company. read more

This is a modification to my original review of 8/18/22. I was contacted by Denis almost immediately after my review was posted. He explained to me that he was out of town and not aware of my attempts to contact him. He was very apologetic and committed to calling me as soon as he was back in town to arrange a date and time to diagnose my problem. True to his word, he called and scheduled a service call. He diagnosed the issue in short order...it was a different issue that what he expected from my description of the symptoms. In fact the repair costs were substantially less than originally thought. Denis order the part (water valve, rather that water pump). The part arrived quickly and we scheduled the repair date. Denis was very knowledgeable and installed the part in less than an hour. The unit is functioning as though it was a new machine. I am happy to be able to change my rating from One Star to Five Stars and would highly recommend Denis for all appliance repair needs. read more
