I scheduled a service appointment for the next day and was given a window of 11 AM-2 PM. Since that's a big window right over lunch, I called around noon to see if they could narrow it down. I didn't hear back until 1 PM, when they told me the tech would arrive at 1:45. At 1:45, I got a text saying the technician had a flat tire. I understand things happen, but it was frustrating. They rescheduled me for the following day with a 10 AM-1 PM window--another long wait. I asked if they could give me a more specific time and was told I'd get a call at 9:45 with an ETA. That call never came. By 11 AM, I still hadn't heard anything and ended up having to cancel the appointment. Very disappointing experience overall. read more

He identified the two different problems with my washer and advised me on the best course of action (replace it, it's at the end of its life) while also giving me a fair quote for what it would take to repair it. Service was great, but the coordination of time was not so much. In the end, the right thing happened.

My dryer broke and I called the team to come and fix it. The dryer wasnt drying my clothes and the auto dry cycle would stop after only 5 minutes. The technician came out and could tell the dryer wasn't getting hot enough but seemingly didn't have the patience to replicate the auto dry cycle problem. He diagnosed it as a heating unit replacement, ordered the parts and installed it a week later. He was ready to pack it up and leave when I asked him to check it with his thermal gun. The thermal gun showed the problem was not resolved, and he eventually (20 minutes later) chalked it up to a building vent problem and said sorry there was nothing he could do. I was thus left with a still broken dryer and a new part (that I paid for) that didn't fix the problem. I gave an extra star because they did refund me back some of the cost. But the time and cost of it all still could have been resolved if the technician was more knowledgeable in the initial diagnosis. I would not utilize this business again for future. read more

The part came in by Monday, and we scheduled them to come out on Wednesday (they were ready to come out Tuesday, but I couldn't make it work). He examined the gasket and drum; drained water from the drainage hose; checked various parts with a flashlight, and explained how to clean the machine regularly. The latch on our Bosch washing machine door broke, meaning we couldn't use the machine. I called Major Appliance Repair and spoke to Sue who was so nice and said she'd check with her technician to see if he could fit us in next day. She promised to call back and did in about a half hour. We scheduled a visit for the next day pending confirmation they had the part. They did and she confirmed the appointment by text within the hour. Stanislav showed up half an hour early and replaced the washer door latch in about half an hour. I contacted Major Appliance Repair to fix the lint screen in our 14 year old Maytag dryer, which had become stuck in its compartment. The technician arrived within a few hours, and quickly determined that the internal clips were deformed (probably because something had fallen into the mechanism). He opened the panel, straightened the clips, and reinstalled and tested the lint screen. Fortunately, no new parts were necessary. He completed the job promptly, at a reasonable cost, and with no unnecessary parts or labor. We are very satisfied. read more

Super good so far. Sent a message thru Yelp for service on my ice-maker and they responded immediately with a really great price of $60.00. I will add to this review after the service tech comes to the house. So, MAR, sent out this young engineer tech guy. He came out and within 10 minutes, he had completely figured out what was wrong. Not sure if I will fix the icemaker or replace the whole refrigerator. Still, Major Appliance Repair and its employees couldn't have been more efficient, knowledgeable, responsive and trustworthy! I will definitely go directly to Major Appliance Repair if i have an issue in the future with any of our home appliances. Called back when I had decided to go ahead with replacing the 200.00 part. A few days later, Igor, the representative from MAR, called me back telling me the part was in. Rather than offering me an appointment weeks in the future, he offered to come on Sunday. I reached out to probably 30 companies all who told me they did not offer the service. Initially it was the same with Major Appliance, but desperate, I asked if they knew anyone who could do it and my situation. Adi immediately responded 'yikes, ok let me see what I can figure out'. Adi was the only one to help me. Not to mention this was very late at night when I couldn't sleep because of my stress of what I was going to do about my stove with the tilers coming soon - something I had been waiting for months for and didn't realize this stove situation could ruin my whole tiling project until the last minute.
