DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! First, the positive- Ron fixed our dishwasher & it works great now. However, it cost $482.65, which we would have elected to not do, since we are going to rent/sell home soon & would have just purchased a lesser unit. We weren't given an option or choice, he just did the service without consulting! 1) He no-showed, no-called, the first 2 appointments that we had with him. (STRIKE 1) 2) My wife works from home, so she met him & informed him that she is right on the other side of our house if he had any questions or needed to speak to her. She came out to check on progress, and it was fixed, but with a $500 invoice! (STRIKE 2). I called my wife to see how things were going & she told me. I immediately called Appliance Source office & a young woman told me that she had no idea how to handle this & I would get a call the next day from someone above her. No call. (STRIKE 3). I called in & the same woman put me on hold and Ron picked up. He told me that he was told by the woman who fielded my earlier call that I complained because Ron didn't do anything at all to my dishwasher. Not true, especially because we have the broken part right in front of us. They argued with me about that. (STRIKE 4 & 5). Ron then jumped on the immediate defensive saying that he's running a business & that they have expenses, that's why the price was almost $500. I told him that I agreed 100%, as a former business owner I know that it's not a non-profit, & I wasn't arguing the fact of the price but the fact that we were never given an option to do or choose not to do the repair (knowing that we would still pay for his time). He then told me (using my earlier words) that "she was on the other side of the house" & couldn't inform us of anything or ask if we wanted to proceed, but just assumed & completed the repair WITHOUT ASKING US FIRST. Completely wrong answer & blatant LIE. (STRIKE 6). He immediately told me that $500 is very reasonable considering that the same machine is $1200 new. True, but we wouldn't have purchased the same unit, rather, a cheaper unit for the same price as his service invoice. After more defensive comments, he asked what price I thought would have been fair. I replied that his price was probably fair (however, $150/hour?!) given the part cost, his time & overhead expenses. Again, not a good question. After all that, we agreed upon a price of $399 and left the conversation. Now, it's the next day, and I still don't see a pending credit to our original charge. Waste of time and money. I paid close to $1,000 and took a month for Ron to change a part in my dishwasher and it still doesn't work. He is now ghosting me, not returning any calls or messages about the problem he didn't fix. After moving on to another company it turns out he ordered the wrong part AND it was covered by warranty so I paid way more than needed. Avoid this guy. read more

My dishwasher was under recall so I figured my appointment would not be a priority as I was not a paying customer. After a little bit of back and forth with the appointment, Ron showed up on a Friday afternoon and really went above and beyond. The manufacturer only paid him $130 for what they considered to be a 15 min job but it actually was more than an hour. Ron relocated the electrical unit from behind the dishwasher (where it should not have been) under my sink and also put some spare flooring that I had underneath the the dishwasher so that it was the proper height (with the rest of the kitchen floor). He didnt have to do either of these two things and this was greatly appreciated especially considering I wasn't a paying customer. read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience with this company. Our icemaker was spewing water, so we called Appliance Source to take a look. Tim came out and looked at it, said that nothing was wrong, charged us $180, and left. Within a few days, it started spewing water again. Tim came out again, replaced a part, charged us $377, left, and the icemaker still wasn't fixed. It continued to spew water, so we have permanently turned it off. The second time Tim came out, he marked on our receipt that the charges were supposed to be $280.98, but it showed as $377 on my credit card statement. After talking to someone in the office several times (both my husband and I), they still haven't refunded the almost $100 they owe us. I recommend that you do not do business with this company; terrible business practices and terrible customer service. read more

Rude, childish, and an utter disappointment!! I have used Appliance Source (Ron and Becca) on 3 occasions. On the first 2, they were adequate but expensive ($95 per hour for drive time and repair time). I considered myself a loyal customer and even referred business to them. NEVER AGAIN! On the 3rd repair (began August of 2015), Ron performed the repairs, I paid him $500 for labor only (I bought the parts separately), we shook hands and he committed that he guaranteed his repair. The appliance broke again the next day. Since then I have experienced 3 no show, no calls for appointments set by his office. 7 weeks into the "repair", I called and emailed the company and Ron several times to get a resolution. The only reason I finally spoke to Ron was because he accidentally pocket dialed me and I stayed on the phone until he realized I was there. This is a ridiculous way to have to communicate. I was angry, offended, and disappointed at this treatment. In business, every problem offers the opportunity to act as a hero. Instead, Appliance Source has chosen to push me, a loyal customer who has referred several additional customers to their company, to the side. In our last communication, Appliance Source stated they were determining how much to refund me for the problem. I never heard from them again. Goodbye Appliance Source - NEVER AGAIN!! read more

When I called they admitted that they knew nobody would get there, but apparently my time is not that important. They set up another appointment for the next day with another 4 hour window. Very unreliable company. After several visits to repair a refrigerator, it is still not working. Company made an appointment to come out and attempt again to repair, and did not show up. The next day when we called, set up a second appointment two days after the first. After waiting through the 4 hour appointment window with no arrival or contact whatsoever, my wife went out to do some errands. An hour and a half after the appointment window was over, the technician called to say he was on the way, and then insists that my wife cancelled because she was not sitting waiting for him. The guy that was sent out spent an hour and half and couldn't figure out a solution to fix my LG Dryer. They wanted $150 for not being able to solve the problem. Don't pay for a learning experience for others. I learned my lesson. I'll call a certified LG technician next time. I would not recommend this outfit to anyone. read more

Yesterday (01-17-18) Appliance Source out of Knoxville sent a repairman out to fix my Bosch dishwasher even though the weather was bad. I had previously had an appt. with Tri County Appliance out of Sevierville and they had a "no show" AND no phone call to let me know they were not coming. The repairman (Ron Conway) was extremely helpful in repairing the dishwasher and even went the extra mile to show me how to clean the door without leaving streaks and in addition found that the dishwasher had been wired incorrectly when installed and took the time to correct that problem as well. He was very knowledgeable and competent in his work. I am very pleased with his service and would gladly recommend him and his company to others. read more

In all Honesty, I cannot give the Appliance Source any stars at all. I had an appointment with the owner on Saturday afternoon between 4-8pm to come and diagnose the problem I was having with my dryer. I had a call from the owner around 6pm saying he was running late and was that okay. I confirmed that it was indeed okay that we just needed to have our dryer repaired. Later that evening I tried to call him twice, left a message on his cell phone and NEVER had a return phone call. I even waited to hear from him on Monday. So by Monday afternoon I called back to say how upset I was that I didn't get service, nor a phone call to reset the appointment. I was "fortunate" enough to get the owner of the company on the phone who offered no apologies only anger about having to work until midnight and he even told me that a customer who had signed up for one appliance service but had four when he showed up at the house was more important than my call. This fella obviously lacks no customer service skills at all. I guarantee with an attitude like that repeat customers will be few and business will not end up being profitable and I believe he will even find himself out of business before long. I have never had a contractor yell at me. This fella even went so far as to hang up the phone on me when I calmly asked his name. Bet he doesn't even discover he has been Yelped about - didn't get the impression that he had any type of business skills at all. We have a family-owned deli and a friend of ours recommended Ron for any repairs needed for our business. Ron appeared to be very helpful and thorough so we hired him to fix our coolers. He did fix them but after a month or so, the problems were back. He has since come in to repair a sandwich cooler--leaving it unrepaired with the promise of returning.
