Soley a review for their AGGRESSIVE door to door solicitation, based on the other reviews I'm not alone here. I work from home, was about to hop on a conference call when he rings the bell. I let him know I don't have time and he proceeds to continue talking... so I asked for a card says "he's not a card guy" and I said "well I don't have time bud" , STILL refuses to leave and continues with his "pitch". I absolutely LOVE this company we have used them for years. We also had them when they were Austex. They are always so respectful, polite, and do a great job. I had some weird problems this year, like wasps in my house and couldn't find a nest or even how they were getting in. We now think it was the chimney. They came out several times trying to figure it out and even crawled around the attic more than once. I also live behind the 4-h place for Pflugerville high school, so I get rats. They gave us a bait box and make sure it stays filled. They make sure to sweep webs and future "nests" off the eaves, house and doors. And I have a two story. If by some freak chance you see bugs before or after they come out, they come back for free and will treat again. I can not express how great this company is and I recommend them every chance I get. read more

BEWARE! THIS IS A SCAM!!!! This product DOES NOT WORK!!! If it was possible to give no stars that's what I would rate this company. They rope you into a contract, telling you that they will re-service your house as many times as needed to keep your house pest free. Well, that's great and all except that the product does not work! No matter how many times they come, it still makes absolutely no difference! And then, when you ask to discontinue service, they hit you with a big charge. This company charged me almost $400 for nothing at all. No change in my pest issue whatsoever. And I had to send at least 10 emails and make several phone calls before they would let me out of my contract. I've reported them to the BBB as well. This is based on their sales tactics, they look up your neighbors names and use them when in fact your neighbors have never used them. I don't mind them wanting or asking for your business, but when they come off hundreds of dollars of the pricing, something is fishy. I did not sign up for the service, but keep in mind the below Texas law: Under Texas law [Texas Business & Commerce Code Ann., Sec. 601.001 et seq.], the door-to-door seller must advise you orally and in writing that you have a right to cancel the sale within three days. There are tons of great local pest control services that will never send a pushy sales person into a neighborhood marked as no soliciting, and refuse to take no for an answer while LYING about how many other people on your street already signed up. We found a company who is local, has a 4.5 star rating on here, and they get tons of business without unsolicited door knocks. Had a salesman come to the front door trying to sell us on his pest control company. My wife and I already have a service for this but got us to give him a one time try because of their "highly effective" mosquito killer stuff. So we said we'd try it once and that the sprayer/technician guy would be by within the next two hours. Salesman was great and obviously effective. However, the sprayer/technician failed to close the gate and I got to spend 90 minutes at 6 am making me late for work because he failed to properly latch our gate which we warmed the salesman to make sure the technician do because we have a dog. So we are trying to cancel the service and they are now saying we need to pay a $199 early cancellation fee because we are "ending" our contract early. It was supposed to be a single time use to see if we wanted to make the transition from our current company. Very unhappy and would not recommend this company if this is what they do when their salesman are saying something very different. Be aware who you choose. read more

I am surprised the masses have not come to google the way they have to yelp. Their reviews are being slaughtered due the aggressive, persistent, unprofessional door to door gorilla sales guy(s). Why would they continue this?? They are still at it today. They ignore the no solicitation signs, loudly and repetitively knock and ring the bell, then do it again, and again, if you do not answer. They will name drop neighbors who have used their service (not ok), to where these neighbors have gone to the nextdoor app to complain that they are NOT happy customers. They are incredibly pushy. And have come back multiple days. Neighbors have complained that they are being bullied and pressured and feel incredibly uncomfortable when they have answered the door. And others are frustrated that they will not go away and keep knocking. No one, NO ONE wants strangers at their door. We don't want sales calls and we certainly don't want sales being brought to our home. This is bad business. read more

I won't say that these people are less than above-board, but I'm definitely suspicious. Today, we had a random solicitor knock on our door from one of their salespeople. The guy was exceptionally high pressure, kept dropping neighbor's names (most likely obtained from mailboxes), and kept insisting that he needed to know who our family was currently using for pest control. I asked to see his city solicitation permit and he said that his manager had the permit somewhere else. The guy was creepy and pushy enough that I had to tell him to leave our property. Even then, his behavior was pushy enough that I referred the matter to the police. This has all of the feel of a customer service fail waiting to happen after a high pressure sales pitch and a long term contract. read more

We've had Aptive for about 2 years now and have been happy overall. They've come back out to spray in between our quarterly visits if needed. Sergio is by far the best technician we've had. He was attempting to make me feel bad for even considering doing my own research, name dropping neighbors who I doubt had signed up, and needlessly trashing Ranger Pest Control who I have been very happy with for three years. My toddler was bawling by the end of the conversation and i had a guest arrive, so i had to basically kick the guy off my porch. He was very insensitive and inconsiderate of my time. The gentleman who came for the re-service yesterday was very friendly, polite and helpful. He afforded one the sense that he knew what he was doing. However, we began our contract with this firm in June 2019 at which time we were charged $107.00 for a "QUARTERLY" service with "free" reservice. I was shocked this moring that the NEW quarter was charged, LESS THAN A MONTH, after the intial charge. It increased by over 30% to $139. Oh and the bugs, they are still here. The initial sales pitch was for a quarrterly charge that would be $99.00 plus tax. They have defaulted on this verbal commitment by 1) increasing the charge 30% and 2) charging me again in less than a month. Clearly, their pitch was DELIBERATELY MISLEADING AND intended to get the sale and continued billing without delivering any results. read more

I have been dissatisfied with Aptive since I signed up. Last summer I was told that it was an unusually bad year so that's why pest issues never really cleared up. I'd have to disrupt my schedule to have house sprayed again. I also disagree with being charged full price when they are unable to spray the inside due to Covid. Now a year later I'm trying to cancel the contract but was just told I didn't have my last service because for some reason they didn't show up in June per Dina. I said that wasn't my issue that the company missed a service call and that they should cancel but now I have to wait until after last service to cancel. Has been the biggest waste of money since day one! Highly recommend not using this service. read more

6-Month Update on 11/14/18: Now that I've had the service for 6 months, I'm dropping my rating by two stars. We have not seen a dramatic decrease in bugs around the house. The service is still top-notch (super friendly techs), their communication via text and email has been mostly solid (had to update my cell phone number twice for some reason), and it has been really easy to work with the office to reschedule visits or plan inside and outside treatments. Overall, I think their business model is solid. I just don't think their pest control chemical formulation works as well as they advertise. We actually saw an uptick in pests after the initial treatment and requested an indoor follow-up, which seems to have done the trick, and we now regularly do that as a follow-up between visits. I personally think that 3 months between service is just too long in this climate. If they would go to monthly or every 6 weeks, it would be solid. Most likely will change back to a monthly service option after the year contract is up. ------------------------------------ Signed up via door-to-door rep yesterday and had my first visit today. Technician Tim Sheppard was on time, super knowledgeable, answered all my questions about the chemicals used in & out and was just a true professional. Other reviews have complained about the sales pitch and style, but the rep that came to my house was courteous, knowledgeable, to the point and made sure to carefully review quarterly billing costs, 1st visit cost, and 3 biz day cancellation policy as well as early contract termination fees. They have you initial after every section, so to anyone who was caught "by surprise" by any of this, they should have read the fine print before providing their John Hancock. Lastly, had to change my initial visit from last night to today, and the support staff at the office was super friendly and helpful. Well done. I'm giving a 5 star review for now and will come back in 6-9 months after a couple of rounds of treatments and billing. So far, so good. Keep up the great work. read more

Worst pest service customer service I've ever experienced. They're quick to respond to emails about rescheduling but if you email about a problem, you'll never get a response. Called their office and got hung up on by Brianna. Basically I'm paying 130 dollars for a service I'm not receiving. Technician lied and said they did work they didn't do. Sprayed 2 rooms and gave 7 traps then left. This is the 4th time they've come out and I'm still having roach problems. The product sucks. Do not get service with them. I regret it and they will not let me cancel service with them as I signed a contract. They should be help up to their end of the contract by doing the work. Ridiculous. Never again. Go with ABC or termanix or some place reputable. Update: scam company refuses to acknowledge emails. Requested cancellation of service due to family issues and was out of town. They state they came anyways although my surveillance camera shows otherwise. Yet again trying to charge 130 dollars. While the service folks are thorough, they often will schedule in the winter months when there is clearly snow on the ground, and their prices have risen from $95 per service in August 2018 to $111 per service in November 2022, without any advance notice of rising rates. I canceled my service only to find a text today scheduling my next appointment - in January with 6-8 inches of snow on the ground. I emailed a request to cancel my service and got no response. I called the phone number in the text and asked to cancel, they forwarded me to the loyalty department where I had to spend another 5 minutes explaining why I was canceling, and then wait on the line until they had completed the disconnection, wasting 20 minutes of my day. Be sure to verify that you receive a cancellation email in the event that they show up and bill you. read more

Why in the world anyone would give business to a *pest control* company that demonstrates a total disregard for the safety or welfare of customers, I cannot fathom. These are not the jack@sses I would allow to indiscriminately apply pesticides around my family's living spaces. They also have demonstrated disregard for any communications a potential customer has given them. Since our governor superseded Austin's mask requirement, I have had representatives from this company show up at my door, unmasked, and practically standing in my face after persistent ringing and knocking, assault me with sales pitches on FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS! I'm to the point where I am wondering if TX's "Stand Your Ground" laws would be applicable were I to treat these idiots like the potential threat to my family's safety that I believe them to be. They have insured that they will never get my business, and I will do my best to insure they don't get the business of ANYONE I know. To be clear, I know times are tough. Offered pest treatment for $249, but because they "have trucks in the area", they'd drop it to $50 and would throw in indoor treatment for free. I asked if there was a contract and he confirmed subsequent treatments of $159 each for a year commitment and minimum of 4 additional treatments. I said "no thanks". Ok, I'll drop the first treatment to $20 and the quarterlies to $109. I told him I wanted to think about it, give me your business card... "I dont do business cards, its a take it or leave it deal... Above all, the salesman was VERY PUSHY--it was well past dinner and I was trying to get the kids to bed, but this guy almost had his foot in the door. And my wife told me that he'd come by earlier.
