Trying to speak to a representative in person .... already been 25 minutes hold time for a current customer. Not ok for any business

Don't expect very much from Aptive service, managers, or the corporate office.  We did not receive our quarterly service that we were charged for.  We requested a call from management and never received a response other than them declining a reservice or a refund.  We contacted corporate and never received a response.  We co tacted the BBB and did receive a response.  They declined a refund and a re service with no explanation.  Very poor service. I am not surprised at their ratings. Buyer beware. read more

Just experienced the same thing many other have where a pushy salesperson rang my door bell on a Saturday morning claiming to know my neighbor, standing 3' from me without a mask and would not leave when I respectfully stated I was not interested in his services. When I called their customer service line they could care less about what I had to say. Since this company does to seem to care about people's privacy, health and safety, then maybe a call to the Attorney General which could lead to the business being shut down will do the trick. The Attorney General alleged that Aptive failed to comply with the peddling and solicitation ordinances of at least two Western Pennsylvania areas; failed to provide several Pennsylvania consumers with paper copies of their service agreements or a notice of cancellation at the time of sale, as required by Pennsylvania's Consumer Protection Law. The Attorney General also alleged that consumers were not informed that they had a right to receive the agreement in paper form and several consumers reported never receiving a copy of the agreement via email. The Attorney General further alleges, that Aptive disregarded the requests of some Pennsylvania consumers to cancel their service agreements and instead, continued to send pest control technicians to consumers' homes to perform treatments and billed these consumers for such services that the consumers explicitly indicated they did not want. Very bad customer service Can't get in contact with them, they never answer the phone or call back. Signed a contract, but being charged almost double They were supposed to treat last friday and never showed up (I was home all day) but they took money out of our bank account Can't cancel cause of the contract. Once you sign the contract, you won't see them or be able to contact them. Still seeing mice Its a racket Does anyone know how we can cancel the contract? read more

** Update ** I spoke with the Branch Manager Kyle this morning and he was very kind, receptive, and understanding of the situation. He offered to have the home retreated and credit my next quarterly service. I decided to still cancel my contract, but I do appreciate how sincere Kyle was in addressing my concerns. ** End Update ** I've had my home sprayed several times now through Aptive, with the most recent one in the last couple of weeks. Two nights ago my boyfriend found a scorpion right next to our dog's bowl inside of the house. I called Aptive that night and asked them to do a retreat, because they would not let me out of my contract. That is scheduled for tomorrow between 4:30 and 6:30pm. Well, because Aptive's products work so incredibly well, I got stung tonight...on my abdomen... WHILE SITTING ON MY COUCH. I am in so much pain right now and will have to miss work tomorrow. I'm terrified that my 9lb puppy is going to get stung. I need to be laying down so I can wrythe around in pain, but Im afraid to sit on my couch or crawl in to bed. I left Aptive a message right after it happened (well, after I called poison control) to let them know that I expect a phone call first thing tomorrow morning. I will be canceling and going back to Responsible Pest Control. Never had problems with Responsible's services and it's well worth $10 more a month. After reading the other reviews, I am concerned that Aptive is going to try and charge me to cancel. I will update my post after speaking with them tomorrow. In the mean time, I'll just be sitting here crying...partly from the pain...but mostly because I am paying this company hundreds of dollars to get stung by scorpions. read more

Second service: Based off of my video cameras of my property, Deshan Aguirre did a great job taking care of my service without me being there to make sure he did a good and complete job. I appreciate the easy management of this company and look forward to continued service. First service: Maria Pinto did a great job on my service, took the time to explain what she was doing and make suggestions on what she should do beyond what I thought she should do. Sales guy: He wasn't pushy, but he did follow up. I didn't give him a firm no. I gave him a try back tomorrow. He came back promptly and talked with me while I got my children ready for bed. He did a good job explaining what they handled and didn't handle and let me discuss with my wife before making a decision. I appreciated the simplicity of the interaction and ultimately helped my decision to purchase the services. read more

Super pushing sales guy FINALLY left my house. After multiple "thank you but I'm not interested " I finally walked away and left him to talk to a closed door. He had no ID, no company shirt, walked across my lawn and over a wall when leaving to get to the neighbors house. Overly pushy but never rude. read more

I'm canceling my service with them. Ever since I've signed up with them, I've had more scorpions in my house since they took over. I even had a tarantula outside my backyard and kept getting ants inside the house. I get I live in a desert but I have never had an issue in the past with other companies. I should've know better as the sales rep was a young kid made it seem like the business was ran by his family. It wasn't until I got a hold of a customer service representative who was also a bit standoffish that explained they use door to door sales representatives. Stay away from them no matter how much they say they're environmentally safe. read more

I live in a NO SOLICITING neighborhood and don't appreciate a sales representative ringing more doorbell multiples times at 6PM on a Friday night after purposely ignoring them. Even if I was looking for a new pest control company I wouldn't sign a contract with a company that uses aggressive sales tactics like this... it's 2019, get a little more creative. Echoing what others have said - door to door sales person from this company would not take no for a answer. Bothered a elderly neighbor of mine who would not answer the door for him so much that she called me for help. I then had a horrible interaction with that young man, tried to be nice but he just turned nasty after the 3rd time I told him nicely I was happy with my current pest control company. We bought Aptive two years ago for our last house and had such good service we just re-signed in our new house. So many people are complaining on our neighborhood app, I thought I'd add my two cents. These kids are just out trying to make a living selling a good product. They're probably college students, working a summer job, trying to pay their way through school. If you need pest control go for it... talk him down to the best price; if you don't, at least be kind. read more

An Aptive representative by the name of Daniel came to my door soliciting new business. When I told him I was happy with my existing pest company and excused myself because I was on a phone call. When I closed my door he must not have known he was on camera, he pulled trash out of his pocket and left it on the ledge outside my door. Daniel should be promoted to customer and the unemployment line unless this is how Aptive wants their company represented. read more

I just signed​ up with Aptive Environment​ on 06 June 19 and on the 07 June,​ I had one of their employees come to our home and supposedly​ sprayed the front and back yards. The employee said that by him spraying all the pests and scorpions​ would leave our yard. Today 08 June my wife was stung by a scorpion by our back yard sliding glass door. I love this company. I have been a customer for the last 4 1/2 years and have no complaints. The technicians are always courteous and do a fantastic job. I have no issues w/insects and when I need to make changes to my service dates, the rep's I speak to in the office are friendly and accommodating. I, along with many others posting am disgusted with the sales employees, and there must be many barging into no soliciting neighborhoods all over the area. When confronted they lie and say they've cleared it with the HOA. Bull shit...I contacted them. They've got most resident names and use them as "signed up customers". MORE LIES..... No idea what quality of company they are but with this shit sales approach, they come off as scammers, and only the victims buy into it. Terrible door to door sales approach. Said I wasn't interested the young sales person clearly with very little training on how to handle a NO, which could Mean Not right now just turned into a I will absolutely never hire your company. Rude, kid staring at my front door. Aptive the rejection rate has to be at least 9/10. Train them how to take a no, leave a card and respectfully ask for us to consider using you in the future. This is an awful company. They were scheduled to come on Thursday, did not show up. We discovered our dogs had fleas on Sat so we called promptly and inquired why no service, no call on Thursday and to schedule a new service appointment. We asked for a supervisor to call us and explained we had a flea problem. They made a new appointment for Tuesday and assured us there would be a note to call. 30 minutes before and treat for fleas. So ...no call and no flea control treatment with the tech. He said we would have to do a retreat. called to schedule a retreat explaining what the issue is, and Fleas are still an issue. Made an appointment for Saturday between 12 and 2:30. Saturday rolls around and no tech @2:30 so I call and I am told service was from 1-5. it is 5:27 and no tech, no call so I called to cancel my service and was told the tech cancelled the service at 4:45 because it was too dark. What an unprofessional and poorly run company. read more

After charging me for a service i never agreed too they then told me there was a $150 cancellation fee. Aptive Pest Control - this was two weeks after the service. - Pest Control Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Never given notice of appointment with a message that could be returned. It goes to a number that always has a long hold (not sure they ever answer, I give up after 10 minutes). They did service one time snd said they did all of the property exterior-but there was no open gate to reach the back where the biggest concerns are. I sent an email, as there is no phone number again without long holds. Finally got an offer to come back, but again they come when they want to, not when someone is available. I can't wait for the contract to be over. I'll never recommend them. read more

The salesperson came to my door and promised the following. * Inspection of my yard for key areas and creation of a quarterly plan * Spray the front yard. * Spray from the ground to 3' up on the entire outside of my home * Knock off all cobwebs on the front and back door * Spray garage * Spray inside house * Spray along fence line to "keep from driving pest to your neighbors and keeping your neighbor's pests out." This is what happened. The tech came up to me 16 minutes after arriving and said he was done. I told him that I knew he did not spray the garage because I was in there the entire time. He came in and about 30 seconds he was done. So, I signed off assuming this was just a simple overlooking. I shouldn't have to follow his every step to ensure the job is getting done. I went to my camera system a couple of days later and found the following. He was here for 16 minutes, 7 of those minutes was spent at his truck working on his equipment and looking at a phone. What was actually done: X Inspection of my yard for key areas and the creation of a quarterly plan. (Where is this plan? He did not spend 10 seconds with me going over any plan). Spray the front yard. X Spray from the ground to 3' up on the entire outside of my home (I did not see him ever raise the wand above ground level, let alone 3' up. In addition, he did not spray any of an entire side of my house that can only be accessed by the garage that I was in the whole time. Knock off all cobwebs on the front and back door --Spray garage (only after I asked him to) Spray inside house (Probably but it was obviously quick and with ZERO inspection) X Spray along fence line to "keep from driving pest to your neighbors and keeping your neighbor's pests out." (Sprayed 50 - 60 % of fence line. Certainly did not do the side that can only be accessed through the garage) read more

I bought into all the BS about how much better the Aptive service is. I was told they will spray inside and out, they spray the WHOLE yard, not just the perimeter, unlike other companies they spray 2-3 feet up the wall on the perimeter of the house, they get rid of webs and their pesticides are safe to humans and pets... First visit... Technician was nice and respectful and asked me what my concerns were and indicated they aren't given adequate time to do a full property. He did a decent job but said the next visit, one month later would be the whole property, perimeter walls and everything but also indicated they really don't do all the things the salesman promised. Saw more bugs in the month that followed than we had in a long time with the exception of ants that we get in the back yard. Second visit... Text received that we're scheduled for the following day, a Friday, no time-frame indicated. Made sure someone was home all day. At 4:40 I called and was told I was next on technician's route and he'd be here within a half hour... Not great for our evening plans but ok. A little before 6 we decided we weren't going to wait any longer and got a call from the technician who had injured himself and wouldn't make it. He sounded like a responsible guy who also said his day was extra full because he picked up extra work that day because someone else didn't show up. I was told someone would call me on Mon. Instead I got text saying service would be Tues. I called office to get time range. Two technician's arrived, a trainee and the person showing him what to do. They sprayed perimeter and got webs. Don't expect more. I don't recommend getting into a contract with Aptive. read more

BEWARE!!!DO NOT USE. Three years ago, I not only used Aptive as a service, but I also worked with them. After using them for a few months, I had to call my own company back to my house multiple times. They never got rid of my bugs on their quarterly service. Shortly after I saw how their service DID NOT WORK, I called my supervisor and had my service cancelled. However, today I got a call from a debt collector saying that I owed a remaining balance of $300.....for a service that was cancelled. If they treat the employees who contribute to their company this way, how do you think they treat customers they know nothing about? I'm extremely disappointed and you SHOULD NOT TRUST anything this company or their reps tell you. read more

Where do I start. I'm not sure if it is poor value or what. One of my biggest regrets, I left my current pest control company to go to Aptive. BIG BIG mistake!!!! When I had the gentleman come to my door we talked and I explained to him what I wanted. He quoted me a price. I told him I wanted my payment split up over the three months so I wouldn't have a large payment coming directly out my bank account every three months. He stated that was do able. I'm not sure if my order went in wrong or what. I was quoted $35/month for regular treatment and $5/month for special which would total $120 every three months. I didn't really need the special treatment, but I hate bugs and rodents. So I was think more on the line of preventative care for the special treatment. The first service is free as long as you stay for a year or you do 4 treatments. If not you have to pay $199 for the initial treatment. I get the first bill and it's $120. I call customer service an explain everything to them. The Customer Service Rep stated they would fix it. So I tell the rep I will make my first monthly payment for $40 and tell them I wanted to do auto pay. They take the payment with no problem. Next month I get another bill for $120 but it showed they I made a $80 payment, thinking that was for the first payment and the current month. Didn't pay it any attention. Next month another bill for $120 also see a payment for $40, didn't pay any attention. After some months I get a statement for Aptive stating that I have a past due balance of over $400 and it would go on my credit report. So I got on the phone call them again upset and explain the whole story to them from the very beginning. After spending about an hour on the phone. They corrected the outstanding balance and recall the past due balance. I was told they would make sure my payment would be $50/month. I asked how was that possible because according to my math 35 + 5 = $40. They told me no it's 35 + 15. I asked how is that possible if regular treatment is $35/month and the special treatment is $5/month. I was informed that was incorrect it's $35/month for regular and $15/month for special treatment. I told them I didn't want the special treatment so take it off. I was then quote $35/month. I should have cancelled but I thought I would save money. So the other day I look at my bank statement and I see I was charged $50 by Aptive. After doing some research I found out they have be charging me $50 for the last three months. I can't want until July and this contract is over. Not to much the number of times they had to keep rescheduling my appointments. read more

To condense a very long and detailed anti-Aptive story, they changed the terms mid contract and pretended they didn't. They sent a tech twice who was plainly dishonest about our interactions that took place right under my front door camera. That led to the area manager calling me, and after WAY too long on the phone and way too much acting very indifferent towards taking ANY actions that would be meaningful he finally, finally offered to let me out of the contract with the cancellation fee waived. Some might say that move was particularly honorable, but after all the dishonesty and indifference anything else would have been beneath basic decency for a manager who can authorize such things. And he was there for the better part of an hour. read more

He then proceeded to continue his pitch at which time I thanked him again sending him in his way. He then snickered and laugh, then walked away. At no point did he thank me for my time. I find this very rude and a poor representative and representation of the company. You really should train your employees to fake how they really feel. read more

The guy from this company (Dehlin) knocking our door at 8 PM. We already told him will consider and still this guy take no answer. So I told him we are exhausted and tired. We have kids to take care of. He insisted us to give the reason why we delayed the decision to sign up. I politely told him more than three times that we already have the company we work with and pleased with their service. Plus home warranty still valid. He still pushy. This is not how you conduct the business. I feel threatened the way he look at me after we refuse to sign up. read more

My technician, Joseph D., listened to my concerns. He explained everything he was going to do and was very thorough. He inspected everything around my home and in my yard. He cleaned out any insects and their nesting areas in my eaves. Then he applied the appropriate treatment/insecticide everywhere it was needed around my home. He did a very good job and I appreciate his hard work and efforts. read more

I hate giving bad reviews, honestly this is probably my first one, but I feel compelled to do so. Earlier today we had a sales guy from this company ring our doorbell. We talked to him through our ring being that we should be social distancing right now. The man was incredibly pushy and honestly rude saying "oh is this because of that whole Covid-19 thing?" when we wouldn't come to the door. After my husband told him we were firmly not interested, we hung up the ring and the man left his card. Later on in the evening my husband, my very pregnant self, our children and my elderly mother who lives with us were all in the driveway and who just walks himself right up but the same sales guy! After a stern back up because again we are social distancing and like the rest of the country and clearly have higher risk people right in front of his eyes, the guy didn't go away. In fact, he went on and on about how he can do a better job than our current pest control company and blah blah blah, until my husband finally told him to get over it and move on. I can respect sales, but being rude, pushy and frankly dangerous by coming to people's doors and homes during a global pandemic, is just not cool at all. read more

This company keeps not showing up for pest issues. I have scheduled mutliple times with them. The first time they just didn't show up wasting an hour I could have been at work. The second time they just changed the arrival time without a valid provided reason. They treated my house a month ago, i have been calling them for weeks to come deal with this pest issue and they can't seem to show up within their scheduled time. BUT they have no issues messaging me a twice a day to remind me of the scheduled appointment. Save yourself a headache and go with a better company because APTIVE is a huge let down. read more

Someone by the name of "Tanner", rang our doorbell and apparently many of my neighbors, trying to tell us that our neighbors were using them and naming people (fake names, obviously). Worst pest control. Had scorpions show up days after they came out then couldn't get ahold of them when we tried to call and ask for them to come respray. We were promised the full shabang of them coming inside the home and spraying but they never even told us when they came out to spray. Then they call and harass at all hours because I refuse to pay for a service that wasn't provided and the lady threatens me and try's to use scare tactics. Honey the only thing I'm scared of is scorpions and I'm going to give my money to the people who can actually get rid of them. 0/10 would not recommend. Awful company and awful employees. read more
