The 5 star reviews were BEFORE the company was merged into a bigger company. Just look at the reviews in the past couple years. They're like 1 stars. Of course you average my 5 star reviews (which is the same with old time Responsible clients), it gives this company a higher score rating because my 5 star reviews were for nearly a period of 10 yrs before the takeover. I bet if they only scored the reviews from the past 2 years, at best it would be a 1.5 star, not the 4+ star review. I'm glad I have my own pest control guy and he's top notch. Of the 9 reviews I've done since 2013, 6 were 5 stars (before they merged or were bought out by a larger company). You average that with the one 2 star and two 1 stars, my average review would be 3.7 stars. Let me tell you, they are not a 3.7 star company rather a 1 star. Look at all the reviews in the past 2-3 yrs. Take an average of those reviews instead and it will give you a better reflection of where the current company is. Then you make your decision to use them or not. read more

We were caught at a good time as we had moved into our house weeks before a sales rep came to our door offering pest control services. We hadn't heard of them before but decided to give them a try. The first couple months were good, we didn't have to call them to come more than they already were and we rarely saw a bug inside the house. The minute it started getting hot out we felt like we were calling them all the time because we either had earwigs, crickets, or scorpions INSIDE the house ALIVE. The gentleman who was spraying was very nice but would often miss spots and have to come back. He also never replaced our sticky traps even when we asked. They would tell us a day and time that he would come and it was rarely accurate so we just had to be home all day every day until he came. Customer service was its own beast and the final straw for us. Every time we called the CSR seemed cold and uninterested in our issue and it was always at least 3-4 days before we could a guy out even when we explained to them that we have a baby in the home and are worried about him getting stung. They tried to blame us saying that we probably already had scorpions inside and they weren't coming in from outside (even if that were true, shouldn't they have resolved that since they spray inside too?) Lastly, the sales representative that came to our home never explained to us that we were locked into this contract and there would be a fee to cancel services. I understand this is common so it shouldn't have been too surprising, but it was never explicitly disclosed as he was quickly having us sign paper work and put in payment information. We switched to a different service and are much happier with both their customer service and the results. read more

DO NOT USE! This company is horrible! We didn't realize they were in a sense stealing from us by invoicing and not performing services. We realized it when we recieved an invoice dated and time stamped while we were at home and no one showed up at all! The best one was recieving an invoice with a time stamp before the time! It was stamped 12:00pm and he finished service at 12:25 supposedly. We were home, no one had showed up as it was 10:45 in the morning!! We even stayed at home just incase it was pre stamped for the time he would be here and we got nothing. Called multiple times to correct and got the run around and was even told it was 200 to cancel services! Ridiculous! I still have to pay to cancel when they've been taking money and not even showing up! Not worth the time! We've had a constant any problem, rodent issues, and it seems the company has just gone downhill. I was a part of Bryant Pest Control and the company was acquired/combining with Responsible Pest Control. I was originally very happy with Bryant and after the acquisition the customer service took a turn for the worse. Technician turnover was high and even the original technicians that I found that were good left after a few months of servicing my address. Prices also increased without notice dramatically and the original promise commitment of using Demand CS only year round was quietly changed to a less effective chemical. I had to frequently remind Responsible to make sure Demand CS only and appointments were missed even though my account was clearly noted with these details. The last straw was the most recent service where they raised my rate again and didn't send me any notice at all. Overall, I would stay away from Responsible Pest Control and make sure you find a good local pest control company as many of the larger well established pest control companies have been acquired causing their reviews to look good but make sure you examine the recent reviews. read more

While the technicians that perform the service are good, the customer service is terrible. Twice they have raised rates without prior notice, simply upped the bill. This is unacceptable. After receiving a recommendation from a neighbor, I emailed the business on a Sunday, June 28th expecting no response until the next day. After not receiving a response, I called the company and left a message to call back on Monday, June 30th. Tuesday morning, July 1st at 7:18 am, I received a voicemail message from Josh asking that I return his call. At 7:48 am, I called back and left him a voicemail message. After not receiving a response, I called back that afternoon at 5:04 pm and again left a voicemail message. Today is Monday July 14th and I still haven't received any further response from the company. Needless to say I obtained other service and cannot recommend Responsible Pest to anyone! Had them for about 4-5 years, always late or early, never in the time frame, or didn't show up at all. Was supposed to get my house treated for termites today, $1500 + leave work early, no one showed up, and everyone I talked to on the phone couldn't tell me why. I cancelled my $80 a month service, and the termite treatment. This company absolutely has no clue. I used to love this company. Very reliable and fair pricing. After calling last week for a cricket spray and dealing with a representative that was Not friendly or helpful- he convinced me to take my business elsewhere. After a quick google search, I found Burns Pest Elimination. The customer service was great & their pricing was 1/2 the cost of responsible pest control. Have been using Responsible for several years without issue until recently had an iron courtyard door damaged due to repeated overspray. Spoke to the operations manager to ask that the tech not spray around the door and he assured me they would take steps to make sure that happened. The outcome is that they are still spraying the door. A business that refuses to do what I ask is no longer a company I will continue with. Cancelled my service effective immediately. read more

The customer services staff was wonderful initially and was more than happy to pay for the service. (Eradicating of roof rats) I was told that I would have someone coming to my home once a week for a month to look put traps, remove traps, and add traps. They have only come to the home ONE time. I have contacted the company FIVE times in the last week in which a manager has been "on another call and will call me back." I have not had a return phone call. The lack of care from this company while they have received the money is crazy! This is a horrible company. I got recommended to this company from a coworker. We originally contacted the company and a salesman convinced us we had "german roaches" and we would need a consistent service for a month. When the technician came out he stated we do NOT have german roaches and they would just charge a one time fee of $139.00. Since then they continue to charge my cc a recurring fee of $46.00 EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NOT SERVICED MY HOME SINCE THE ORIGINAL SERVICE. I have since disputed these charges and now they have a collection agency notifying me. We plan on fighting and will report these guys to the BBB and the credit bureau. This company has no customer service with their billing. They are quick to perform service but horrible to respond to incorrect charges. I called several times with a response that someone will call me back but no one ever did. On my last attempt, I got a call center that said in the future the charges will be changed to the correct amount. At that point I was so frustrated that I decided to cancel the service. I requested a termite service. I was told that because I was a long time customer I would get a discount on the treatment. What was given was a service less than I was promised. I was fine with that but not at that cost. I called and ask what was the discount and was told they would get back to me, instead they charged my account 3 times putting it into overdraft status. I called again and offered to pay that was when discovered they had taken payments and not put them back. I live on SSI and that's my whole check. I have no money now and all my bills are due. They quoted me a price one initial price and a rate to out for maintenance. The initial price was higher since they stated a barrier would be needed initially They stated that before they would come over they would confirm appointments they had wanted to schedule. Without confirmation the person representing Responsible Pest Control came to my house sprayed my front yard and since the appointment was not confirmed my back gate was locked and their representative jumped my back gate without authorization. When I chatting with a representative online, he was very nice and stated that he would not charge me for the service and that it would never happen again. Well in fact it did happen again this month August. Their representative jumped my back gate again (which I don't want do to security reasons) I wrote the company and their response was as follows: "I am so sorry! We will most definitely make that this is brought up to the supervisor. I apologize about that . We will also credit your account for the service that you did not confirm today and for the service you have rescheduled for next week. I am so sorry. ~Gabby Today I got a text from a woman By the name of Skye stating that she wanted to schedule an appointment for this month. I told her I already had service for this month and she responded she knows but since I hadn't paid (because it was complimentary)for that service she can't count that as an appointment. Therefore she said either I schedule another service in August or I need to restart the service and pay the initial barrier fee again. I am not happy with this company because they went back on there word. In there text they were going to give me a complimentary service for the next months service for a future visit which should of been In the upcoming month of September. Instead she stated I either double up on my service in August or get penalized in September which the initial start up fee again. There was no mention of the complimentary service they promised in the prior text that they were to give me in sept. It's sad due to the fact even though the company representative jumped my fence unauthorized twice Gabby who was representing the company was very sorry and gave excellent customer communication and service after the incident. It was all flushed down the toilet when I got the call today and they tried to up charge me and break the commitment they had made previously. I am editing this review as I received a rapid response from the companies owner. He listen throughly to the issue that I ran into and politely asked how he could resolve the issue to the best of his ability. He resolved the issue to my satisfaction and I appreciate a company that can resolve issue in a reasonable and practical manner. Encourage you to Read recent reviews and see all the 5 star reviews were from the company Responsible Pest Control bought out. Had company come out to quote for termite treatment. Was told we have roof rats as well based off of "rat turds" in the basement and a chewed screen. Was given a quote of $9,600 as was told need to take out all insulation in the attic, kill the rats, and then put in new insulation. Thankfully we got 2 other quotes who both quoted around $800 and laughed at the ridiculous quote we were given. New company actually found no evidence of rats. So sad this company conducts business like this and hoping somebody does not get tricked into doing service with this business read more

I rarely write horrible reviews, but I had to for this company. I was with Bryant Pest Control for a few years but decided to move to a different company. After moving to a different company, I suddenly received an invoice from "Responsible Pest Control" months later. I thought it was a scam because I was never a customer, and I had never heard of Responsible Pest Control. I called Responsible Pest Control and asked for a copy of the invoice and some sort of communication about the acquisition. I never received anything. Fast forward months later, and they sent my invoice to collections! I am appalled that this type of thing could happen. It's clearly happening to many past customers, and something should be done to resolve this issue. read more

We have had Responsible for over four years. Pleased with the service but we are tired of price increases. We have had two substantial increases in the past year. Called to complain and they said all clients had increased. Well our daughter did not. They said it was with the next billing. It was not. We called back again only to find ours was going up again! We asked why our daughter's had never gone up and this time they said she was grandfathered into the low rate?? What?? We switched from every month to every other month and they scheduled us for one month. We are now shopping around for a different company. Too bad because we were pleased with their service. read more
