I received a quote for a generator from AQM. Since generators are so expensive, I obtained 5 quotes (maybe a bit excessive). They all recommended the same size generator for my home (22kw) all around the same ballpark figure, give or take 3k. However the 5th quote was from AQM and I was shocked....they tried to upsell me in a small business sized generator for my home, charging 20 THOUSAND dollars more than all 4 other quotes I received. I asked them why did they recommend such a huge generator at such a high price, but I never got an answer. I guess they didn't realize I had already gotten 4 other estimates and thought they could trick me into spend $20k more? I don't know. read more

Can't do zero stars? After they 'tried' to fix my Spacepak air conditioner for a couple years the manufacturer referred me to someone who came out and fixed it, LITERALLY in 20 minutes. Turned out the freeze over switch ground wasn't connected. He further informed me that "nothing they [aqm] did helped, nor should they have expected it to help". Sooo, I sued them and won back what I'd paid them except the time they spent repairing a couple of the vents, since I ultimately had the benefit of that work. I talked to the guy who had referred me to aqm (or aire quality management as they used to be known) and he said 'Oh don't use them!!' going on to note that he hadn't recommended them in several years. Unfortunately I had apparently asked him just before that... Anyway, my impression of them is they will do as poor a job and take as much of your money as they believe they can get away with. I get that impression in part because after I won the judgement against aqm, he still didn't pay, until a sheriffs deputy went out to seize one of his trucks or some equipment to cover the judgement. Then he wrote a check. This was a few years back but looking at recent reviews it doesn't appear they've changed. Oh, and in case anyone from AQM checks this, thanks for sending me junk mail so I finally remember to let everyone know of my experience! read more

I paid for their generator svc plan for years, including priority svc. The one time I needed them, it took a week to come out. The part was under warranty and the tech said there would be no charge. He didn't have the oil change kit with him so he used my kit (oil, filter, spark plugs) I then received an invoice for the upcoming years svc plan, which I didn't want to continue. They said I would need to speak with the owner. When the owner, Joe called me back he was absolutely ignorant! He asked me "what the hell is your problem" After explaining the situation and that I did not intend to renew my plan he stated "my guys don't work for free"," you're fired" and " I'm still gonna charge you and not come out, even if you call" I told him it took a week for my priority svc. He explained it's not a priority unless your generator and house is out at the same time. I had recommended them to several people and was treated horribly, apparently so were they. read more

I had an HVAC system (heat pump) installed back in May and the air conditioner did not work properly. I had to have four service calls, including the final one from the service manager. It seems to work better now; however, when he was here on Thursday, 18 July 2019, I was told that I would get a phone call on Monday, 22 July, to see how well it was working. I never received a phone call and I sent them an e-mail earlier this month (August) to let them know that no one followed up with a phone call or e-mail. I am somewhat ambivalent about this company- they are not bad, but I can give them an outstanding rating. Feel disappointed with the lack of customer service. read more

We have used AQM to do annual A/C service checks on our system for a couple of years; mainly just to clean and install a new filter. During our annual service call this year the condensation line was removed and left unattached and we ended up with water draining down into our insulation, drywall and carpet/hardwood below. We have called AQM numerous times with little to no response. They had a technician come out and reattach condensation line, but getting them to address the damage has been a real problem. After more than a week and various calls and emails they had a contractor call and offer to "come out in another week to look at the ceiling". We had to start work ourselves to prevent any further damage. Not real impressed with an owner and/or company who does not stand behind their work product:-( read more

I had an unfortunate experience with this company. Primarily the advisor who came out to the house and gave me a quote. The service techs themselves seemed knowledgeable and fair. But I was "sold" a whole house humidifier on a furnace with fiberglass ductwork. This type of ductwork I have never had before and totally unfamiliar with. When I found out that it is not recommended to do this because of possible moisture retention in the ductwork itself I was charged a re-stocking fee when I cancelled the job. And then I was yelled at and treated rudely by the service advisor for cancelling at the last minute. I should have stood my ground then and I regret not having done so. I just was so disappointed...and tired...and confused. I get cowed easily and I am glad I did not let him install this humidifier. It would have been a disaster and this company should at least give homeowners the pros and cons of such work. It is NOT the same as an install on metal ductwork. read more

If i could give 0 stars I would. This company originally misquoted the job. After install, we had to have them return on two separate occasions. 1st was because the air handler was incorrectly wired during install causing water damage. 2nd visit was due to condensation from air ducts pouring on our floors. 3rd visit was for a drywal contractor to repair thed damage. During the course of these issues, my wife's calls to the owner were ignored. I had to contact their after hours messenger service to recieve a response. At which time, the OWNER of the company referred to my wife in vulgar terms. Extremely unprofessional. Please stay as far away from this company as humanly possible!! read more

Very upset and not satisfied. Called A.Q.M. to come over and check on furnace, suspected gas valve issues. They confirmed and hit me with 575$ for replacement. I checked local distributor and valve in stock was 106$ ,conversion kit for LP another 6$. So let's say with taxes and everything 150$ total. I'm a mechanical engineer and working with pluming for more than 10years, my estimated time on replacement is 1hr top. I was willing to wait for valve and immediate replacement wasn't required, so no charges for express delivery and service was performed during weekdays working hours. I can understand 100...150$ for hour rate, but it's a rip off to charge 425$ for one hour labor. Paid them for the visit and will try somebody who's honest. read more

I would think twice before doing business with this company. I contacted them as a potential customer asking if they were able to provide a second opinion for the unit currently installed in my home so that I could be aware of what was happening with the unit (be an informed on the mechanical aspects etc.) I shared that I was just looking for help at this point and would the company be able to do anything for me? I spoke with A.Q.M.'s president Joe Devine and he asked me many questions about the history of the work performed at my home. He asked for my contact information and then said he would get back to me. When he got back to me, he informed me that he had contacted the company who originally installed the unit so that he could figure out the facts for himself. He did this on his own, without any permission from me or any client relationship of any kind. I have spoken to several business owners and they are appalled that any businessman would conduct himself in such a manner. If this is the way that Mr. Devine feels it is appropriate to conduct business, I would think twice before using his company. read more
