One of our favorite go-to's in town for the summer season. Decent food and you can't beat the view, literally right on the water at the marina. The fish tacos are good, so is the chowder. Full bar in the covered porch is a great place to sit for a drink and meet friends. Take-out ice cream counter, good for the kids in the summer and can walk around the area while you eat ice cream. My only complaint is I wish it stayed open longer... Would probably do very well indoors during the off-season!! read more

I stumbled upon this little gem while I was in Madison at a local B&B for a few days. it was so awesome I returned the next night! love the views of the marina and the fresh air! I had the mussle and the seafood chowder both of which were outstanding! I had the watermelon refresher to drink which was pretty good as well. the next night I went back for the lobster roll which was one of the best I've ever had. fresh lobster meat overflowing from the roll. the rum drink was also good. I've been back I think 3 or 4 times since then after a day at the beach. the sangria is to die for, the fried shrimp, scallops and linguine with clam sauce we ordered were all great. The servers are the best around and so is the atmosphere. I can't wait to return! Fantastic experience at Rocky's Aqua in Clinton over the weekend. Decided to take a drive along the shoreline to have dinner and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Great location with plenty of parking at the Clinton Town Marina. The restaurant was casual and nautical and the staff was outstanding. The hostess was nice and seated us immediately during a busy time. Our waitress Kayla was sweet and personable and our food was ready so fast! It was great to sit in a shoreline restaurant again and feel the ocean breeze during dinner. The NE Clam Chowder was outstanding and the Shrimp Tacos were amazing with perfect portion sizes! Fantastic food and service. It may have been our first trip to Rocky's Aqua, but it certainly won't be our last. Highly recommend! read more

Bad weather on a Sunday means no boating. Tears! We decided to make a trip to the outlets and needed to stop for lunch first. I found Rocky's Aqua on Yelp and hoped it wouldn't be packed due to its location. The weather was beautiful and then thunderstorms all day back and forth. We arrived for lunch around 12:39 and were seated immediately on the outdoor/indoor deck. There is a roof, but no windows. Perfect in case it decided to storm again. I ordered the lobster roll with fries. It was a little over priced for the size and dry. A little melted butter on the side would have been nice. Fries were good. My kids ordered off of the kids menu, chicken tenders (good) and Mac and cheese (pretty bad). When are restaurants going to realize that they shouldn't try to make fancy Mac and cheese for a kids menu? My husband had a burger which he said was good. The service was great. The waitress however brought my kids regular size drinks instead of the $1 kid's sizes that are on the kid's menus. I pointed out the price and she said they didn't get that one. I then pointed out that my son had a tiny sip of his drink, so obviously the kid's size is what we wanted. She did take that drink off the bill. I'm going back and forth between a 3 star and 4 star review. I'll go with 4, because of the beautiful view of the marina and would return just for that next time we are in the area. read more

My friends and I were looking for a nice place to eat on the water, because of the beautiful weather. With a quick google search we found Rocky's Aqua, and thank god we did! The atmosphere was amazing, the service was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious. We started with some beer and cocktails, that all tasted great. We also tried the bisque and pretzel rods which we would definitely get again. All of our entrees were cooked to perfection and came out quickly for how packed it was on a Saturday night! First trip to Rocky's Aqua of th e season. Ginger pear martini is excellent. Worth the 45 mile ride. The seafood bisque was creamy and Hardy. Lick the bowl good. The seafood combo was nicely done and scallops melt in your mouth. They know how to not overcook the vegetables! You have to try the Flour less chocolate cake to finish. The location in the marina is fun. The marina location is fun, they have some interior water view tables and some outdoor tables on the dock. Great place for happy hour and hors d'oeuvres. Our dinners were just ok- Filet sandwich and Baja Taco. If you live along the shoreline and looking for dinner there are far better places. My wife had lunch here with two of our daughters a month ago and liked it. Yesterday, after getting back to the marina after a day on the water, we decided to walk down and have dinner. The vibe is shoreline, local bar and restaurant. Menu is fairly simple. We decided to try two of the house cocktails, I tried the a pear Vodka drink and my wife had the watermelon refresher. Neither drink was all that impressive. I think our server, who also made the drinks( odd system) forgot part of mine. Although strong, it wasn't what I was expecting. We started dinner with the fried calamari. The best part was the amount of fried cherry peppers. The rings themselves were of the larger variety and tended to be more chewy. The marinara got its kick from a generous topping of crushed red pepper. The aioli was nice. What was missing were some tentacles. Dinner for me was the chicken tacos. The biggest downside was the dried out chicken on them. It had been sliced super thin so a trip on the flat top really dried it out. My wife had the fried oyster salad which she enjoyed. All in all not a terrible meal, a great location and decent prices but could have been much better. read more

We (party of 4) thought we would try Rock's Aqua. What a disappointment. For starters we tried the chowder. It arrived luke warm and rather tasteless. I ordered the blackened swordfish as did 1 other of our party. My piece was noticeably thicker but when I tried using my fork to separate the filet I found something hard. My knife revealed a semi frozen interior with a gelatinous texture. Ugh! The fries looked and tasted as if made hours earlier while the sprouts were too hard to cut never mind eat. Ultimately, they didn't charge me which was fair but I honestly cannot say anything else positive regards the food. To be fair the party who had the fried oysters thought they were delicOur waiter was friendly and apologetic to some extent. Great location right on the water. If you like fried oysters, this place has two great dishes: the oyster dinner comes with fries and slaw and is a filling meal. However the oyster salad, apparently their house special, is a great choice for its size (not too filing) but a good size salad and 4 fried oysters on the side. It was our first time eating at Aqua. Had a wonderful table overlooking Clinton Harbor, where we watched as the moon rose. The menu isn't huge, but well varied to suit different tastes. We split the Clams Casino as an appetizer. Very tasty and garlicky. My entree was whole belly fried clams. They did not skimp on the portions, and the clams were tender, numerous and sand-free. My girlfriend had the barbecue shrimp wrap and she fully enjoyed the favor. We will very definitely return. read more

This is our favorite place to go in Clinton. The atmosphere, location and service/staff are excellent and the food tasty.

Been coming here since 1972 when it was the Top of the Dock. Had two or three different names since, but the food was always outstanding. However the last time I ate here in 2005 the food was very good, and the atmosphere none better, but the service was absolutely terrible. It was as though the waitress could care less if she tended to us. Like she didn't even want to be there. Very rude. Unless things have changed I'd steer clear. read more

Beautiful view, very nice staff, good food. Lauren was our waitress, she was very friendly and attentive. Had the fried fish wrap, it was good, nice and light on the breading. Tasty hand cut French fries and sweet potato fries were good too. Dm had fried oysters, she said they were "delicious, mmm mmm". The view is really beautiful. I would have liked to have given a better review, but for the cost of the lobster rolls and clam chowders I just can't. We were hoping to make it to the "famous" place next door, but they were closed, so one positive thing going for Aqua is that they are open later than 6pm. We saw a lot of great reviews on yelp, so maybe we just hit an off time, but the clam chowder was watery, and the clams were chewy, probably one of the worst I've ever had, a one star for that. The hot lobster rolls were a little better, but the bun was tasteless, and the hot lobster was ok, very little flavor to it. Lots of good reviews, so maybe we hit an off night. Service was very good. Great Bartenders, fun atmosphere right on the water (Clinton Marina) especially during the summer. Best Martinis on the shoreline! If you like seafood, apps and burgers you will like this place. Not everything is deep fried like most seafood places (Lenny and joes) on the shoreline so it's a nice change of pace. There are two bars and three eating spots which is nice. You can sit at the inside bar and eat or their dining room (water view) or their outside bar where they have heaters on in the winter. Also they have live music during the summer which is great! My favorite food to order: burgers and lobster rolls. Favorite drink: Mounds Martini. read more

I was back in CT visiting family and was told to check the place out. Wow what a great time. Although we waited an hour it was worth it. I order the lobster roll and this thing was packed with deliciousness. I had read another review that they were disappointed that it came in a hot dog bun/roll. What's it's supposed to come in??? Service was great the view was better, for a costal restaurant this won't disappoint. Yes on a Saturday at 6 you'll have a bit of a wait, belly up to the bar, order a cocktail and relax. Was in the area over the weekend and found this place and decided to stop for lunch and sit outside since it was so nice out (albeit, a bit chilly). The interior looked very nice but was mostly an older crowd at lunchtime, plus sitting outside is more our speed anyway! Service was prompt and friendly and the view from our seats on the deck of the marina was wonderful. I had the barbequed shrimp wrap with french fries (I was actually brought coleslaw but that was quickly rectified) and everything was very tasty. The hubby had the broiled seafood combo, which he enjoyed but the portion size just did not match the price--I understand that you are paying for the location and the view but to have 2 shrimp, 2 scallops and a small piece of filet of sole for the price was not a good deal. A group of us went there for lunch. The space looks great, it is spacious clean and friendly. We sat at the bar and had a round of great bloody Maries. The housemade Bloody Mary mix is tasty. It is a bit spicy and thick, full of horseradish and others yummy things! Appetizers: oysters and clams were fresh and delicious. Stopped in here after we anchored our boat for the evening. We were seated by a really nice hostess indoors with a great view of the water (and our boat) which was helpful so we could keep an eye on things. The restaurant has easy access from the water with the marina/gulf fuel station directly in front of it making this spot ideal for travelers. We ordered a few local beers which were $4/$5! We also ordered the fried calamari which was a fair portion and some fries to munch on as we emptied our glasses. Service was great. No happy hour or daily specials which was kind of a bummer but the menu is so reasonably priced we didn't miss it. read more

We decided to have dinner here based on a recommendation from friends. The ambiance is great, it's on the water and you can watch boats coming and going. I'm assuming because of the covid precautions they have picnic tables set up and that is where we were seated. I asked to be seated on the patio area but they didn't have anything available- no big deal. I Ordered the riverside runner which was delicious. It took a long time for our server to greet us. Once we ordered drinks and apps they came out in a reasonable amount of time. Over an hour after we ordered our entrees we finally started to eat! We asked what was taking so long, since she never checked back in with us, and was told that the chicken takes a long time to prep. What?! If that's the case then guests ordering it should be made aware. We started with calamari which we really enjoyed. My daughter had a burger which was good. My husband had the clam strips which were good. I ordered the chicken lemon garlic which I thought would be somewhat light. It was swimming in sauce and very heavy and the mashed potatoes were drenched as well. I had a few green beans but not a good sized side. Apparently I ordered their least favorite entree and they prepared it as such. Overall I would have been more positive about the food quality if the remainder of the service was at least acceptable. After dessert we were still waiting for the bill to close out as our server was chatting with a table she clearly knew. I had to take my keys out and plop them on the table for her to pay attention to us. Not my style but we are now 2 hours into a meal and just want to leave. In the end they took dessert and a round of drinks off the bill. They could have eliminated the need to take this off the bill and made us repeat customers with basic communication. We won't be returning and will instead patronize restaurants who provide exceptional service. read more

Went today to the Aqua Restaurant as it was their opening day for the 2023 summer season. I've been there several times before and was looking for, yet, another good meal. Well, I was definitely not disappointed. My fried cod was fresh and lightly breaded. The onion rings were light and crisp. The best part was the flourless chocolate cake. It was so smooth and creamy. I have never tasted a cake like that, ever, and it's made on the premises. I could go on and on. It's worth the trip and any amount of time waiting. read more

While heading down to the Clinton Outlets a quick search on the Yelp app and we discovered Rocky's Aqua. It is located right on the water in Cedar Island Marina . A 5 min ride from the outlets. The place is nicely done and has both an indoor bar / dinning area and an outside one in a connected permanent tent. Sit at one of the high top tables over looking the marina for great views. If I rated it just on food and not overall atmosphere I would prob go with 3 stars. But it's got a lot going for it , great location and we had a great server. Now on to the food , we started with 6 clams on the half shell, very good , fresh tasting. We also tried a bowl of their clam chowder. Being big chowder fans this wasn't our particular favorite. It was nice and creamy with potatoes cooked perfectly. But we didn't like was finely chopped clams, I had to pull out 3 bay leaves I almost ate and their seasoning/ herb mixture was a little different than traditional . A nice spin on it from their end just not our cup of tea. We also ordered the fried scrod sandwich served on a roll with lettuce tomatoes and pickles . The bun to fish ratio was a little off. A little too much bun. I ordered the flank steak wrap served with grilled onions, lettuce tomato, Swiss cheese and horseradish sauce. It was well done and hit the spot with my Bloody Mary. Just remember it's flank steak so it's a little on the chewy side. But not a prob. Def will return and try new thing next we are in the area. Great spot and great staff members . read more

I just hosted my parents 50th Anniversary party at Rocky's Aqua. It was a surprise party with about 40 guests, and as everyone who has ever arranged a surprise party knows - it's a lot of work to get every thing to go well. Fortunately Rocky's Aqua turned out to be an ideal venue and Sam and his staff did an amazing job. The room they set up for me was perfect, with nice views of the water and marina, the food was great, the staff was friendly and helpful.
