What a wonderful experience! We had drinks here once but good friends of ours had eaten here on multiple occasions. There were 4 in our party. Reservations at 7pm. We were offered crisp cucumber water as we looked over the menu. Their menu is an electronic tablet. We enjoyed the avocado bombs to start, lightly fried with a hint of spice. Our entrees were the sea bass, the tuna, the ribeye and the Aqua Fino salmon with sticky rice cake. All entrees came with a house salad and bread, (try the honey butter) rare these days. Everything was cooked well and served hot. The restaurant is quiet, so no competing with the noise level. We finished with the Limoncello mascarpone cake. Delicious. * we ordered a bottle of pinot noir, they were out of it, we switched to another bottle, out again, so the restaurant accommodated us with a very nice bottle at the original bottle price. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with special requests. My only nit to pick would be the price of our cocktails. About twenty dollars each for Makers Mark Manhattans seems a bit much. This is an upscale dining establishment in Plymouth, Mi. From the outside it doesn't look like much but inside it is nicely decorated and fancy. The drinks are pricy but good. The menu is varied with enough options for most people to find something to eat. I had the beef reganato. I describe it as a combination of beef stew and Alfredo pasta. Shared an appetizer called Spicy Avocado Bomb, also shared main course and dessert, Honey Dijon Red Snapper which came with sticky rice and a vegetable which I forget what it was. The service was definitely lacking, very slow, didn't come back to check on our food, and had to stop her to grab more water and drinks. The vibe was great as far as decorations go and how it is laid out we were in chairs at a table but there were lounge style chairs that I was honestly jealous of , we had five people and they were set up for four and there was no way you could add a fifth. They also had a violin player but just kept playing the same songs over and over, probably the same 4 or 5 songs and we were there for what felt like forever for dinner. All of the food was absolutely amazing. The miso soup left a lot of flavor to be desired and the beer, both from the tap or can had an after taste so either there were residues in the beer glasses, the keg lines not so clean or can flat - not sure. The starters were good, especially the avocado bombs and calamari. The dinner was really good and we all had an assortment: short rib and scallops- prob the best, filet, salmon and cauliflower steak - which you could skip. For 8 people, 4 starters, 2-3 drinks each, each an entrée and the bill was just shy of $1000. Not sure I'd go back on my own but as a work event it was a good choice. read more

While the atmosphere is good, the food is TERRIBLE. Had to send my burger back because the meat was still raw and cold. As a "fine dining restaurant" I expected that they would be compliant with food safety rules but I suspect that the chefs did not even check the temperature of the meat prior to serving. My friend got the sea bass for a whopping $80 and it tasted raw as well. Really awful experience overall. Service was great, but food was not which is wrong because that's what they base their expertise on. read more

Gave it 1 star because 0 wasn't an option. I came with a party and to be honest the food served was hit or miss. I ordered a salmon salad, the fish was spoiled and rancid. When I informed waitstaff, they referred me to a very rude and argumentative manager (Victor) that insisted that the fish was fresh. Ordered a cauliflower steak and it tasted like cardboard. We went on a Tuesday, while happy hour drink specials run all day. I had a Jack Honey and lemonade cocktail from the happy hour menu. We had decided on AQUA after I won the Facebook giveaway. We got Heirloom beets with a couple of lovely reductions and olive oil. Along with thar, we had pork belly from the main menu. It was amazing! The next appetizers were Waygu croquettes in the most unique and creamy sauce. They are perfect. Keep that sauce leftover for bread dipping, and thank me later. We decided the seared tuna would be the lightest entree. The tuna was perfection! Three sauces swiped on the plate were each so flavorful. I highly recommend this dish! It came with bread and a side salad. Dana, pronounced Donna, was our server and she is amazing. She split our side salad for us, and brought clean dishes each round. Worst restaurant experience I've had by far. Food is absolutely terrible. Crab cake was fishy, salad was dry and flavorless, pasta tasted like lamb, and bread was dry with sour butter!! There were FLIES all over the place landing on our plates. Steak was okay but I had lost my appetite. The place was empty on a Friday night. I came on Valentine's Day and the food was terrible as well, I thought I'd give it another try but I wish I didn't. This place needs new management and a whole menu evaluation. We were spending our anniversary on Plymouth and a friend recommended this as a perfect dinner spot for our celebration. Our server, Ashley, was very friendly and attentive throughout the night. The menus are a tablet device, which was great because you are able to see photos and descriptions of each item. The wine list was extensive and included some choices that you don't see everywhere else. We started our meal with the Japanese crab cake appetizer. It had great flavor and felt light, despite the breading. I ordered the surf and turf for my entree. Unfortunately they had just run out of scallops, but they were able to quickly adapt and use shrimp instead. The filet was cooked perfectly and the zip sauce that comes with it is absolutely amazing! My wife ordered the pork tenderloin and really enjoyed it. For dessert, she went for the creme brûlée and I had the limoncello mascarpone cake. I'm a sucker for any lemon dessert and this was exceptional! We dined inside, but it looked like there was a nice outdoor seating area. if I had to offer one critique of this place, it would be about the layout and decor. We sat along the window and the tables are kind of jammed in there and beyond that, I'm not quite how to describe it. Recently made a visit to this restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner. We were seated quickly after arriving for our reservation. The waitress took our order immediately but that's when things went downhill. Our salad took more than thirty minutes to arrive. When I questioned the timing of the salad, the waitress was very dismissive. The salad tasted horrible- lettuce seemed old. The entrees were bland as well. We started with the Roman artichokes and olives, which was nice and light. We both ordered the saku tuna, which comes with a salad and fresh bread with honey bourbon butter. The bread and butter is AMAZING! I was excited to try the tuna, especially since the description reminded me of sashimi. My husband and I got the same dish. NOTE: the description or the server did not tell us that the tuna is season with extremely hot spices. This wasn't enjoyable for my husband... if we knew this, we would have definitely ordered a different meal. Otherwise the quality was great. We actually took home leftovers and washed off the spices to enjoy the tuna. Our server was excellent! She was so sweet and attentive. I didn't mind that our meal was so spicy since the quality was good, but our server felt horrible and provided a complementary dessert. Service was good and fish was executed well however recipes themselves are lazy and uninspiring. Nothing really pops or surprises you.. The food was bland and lacked flavor. Experience can be best described as mediocre and expensive. The waitress was extremely kind and helpful but that can't make up for the dishes lack of creativity and taste. Sriracha straight out of the bottle with what tasted like store bought seaweed salad on the appetizer.. No miso what-so-ever on my miso glazed chilean sea bass.. Cake was tasty but I can make a better dessert myself. These guys need to stay in their lane; they're trying to be a high-end fancy restaurant but the taste just isn't there. Up your game or shut down and move on. Charging 2.7% for credit card transactions is a huge turnoff. Pandemic notwithstanding, I still like finding a new favorite place. Maybe even more so, as I want to support the businesses and employees who allow us to have special nights out with delicious food. My most recent search took me to Aqua, a place that I hadn't checked out yet in Plymouth. We made reservations for a recent Saturday night, and were promptly seated on a heated patio when we arrived. I could see where tables were staggered to allow space between parties, which made us feel extra secure in our restaurant choice. I couldn't resist splurging on seafood that evening, and started the meal with the Shanghai Calamari. It was a great choice, with a little sweetness and just a touch of heat. Next came house salads, which were a perfectly-sized portion to transition from our appetizer to our main course. Served with some fresh-baked bread and whipped butter (I think it was a bourbon honey butter, in fact), we kept visiting while waiting for our entrees. Three out of the four of us ordered the Aqua Fino, a specialty of the restaurant and an award-winner according to the menu. I had deliberated between that and the Faroe Island salmon, and the server recommended the Aqua Fino. "It has a lot of different flavors in it, but they all come together nicely." She hit the mail on the head, as the coconut curry sauce, cilantro rice cake, mango pao-pao glaze and tender salmon made every bite a culinary adventure. The portion was quite generous, as I had about half of my salmon left over to take home that evening. Thoroughly satisfied, we skipped dessert, but all decided that we would love to return soon to see what other delicious dishes Aqua may have in store for us! read more

I'm embarrassed to say that we have known about this place in our town for years, after watching it convert from a breakfast diner years ago. We had not gone to it, but had always heard good reviews. Our waitress, Besa(?) , was absolutely wonderful and very sweet and attentive. We will request her again. The menus are on tablets and are very easily and simply laid out. And the menu is very simple. But plenty of choices for anyone to find a perfect meal. I chose the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. My wife chose the chicken and it was perfect. We tried both the tiger shrimp and shrimp cocktail, and they were large shrimp, and also excellent. Cooked perfectly. The cocktails were excellent as well. The bottom line is that we feel this is the best upper scale restaurant in town and we are looking forward to going back again. read more

Went to Aqua for a friends birthday celebration. Reservations had been made but I feel like our party of 7 could have been accommodated even if we had not. I sat at the bar until everyone in our party arrived and enjoyed the midnight (espresso) martini. For dinner I ordered the Aqua Fino and it was absolutely amazing. Others in my group tried the nights special of braised short ribs and stated they were delicious as well. The service was excellent and the ambiance was very nice. There was even a violinist playing that came and played happy birthday for my friend.After dinner we went back to the bar where I had the blueberry martini. Sweet but so good! The food was under cooked and was not Hot enough.we did not Care for the surroundings and the floor was dirty.
