When buying our new home I opened the crawlspace hatch to check the framing. I noticed the dirt…read moreunder the home was mud. Could smell the heavy dampness in the air. Framing looked fine and saw no mold. After purchase I looked for companies to add a 20mil vapor barrier. My neighbor used clean crawlspace years before so added them to my quote list. I was a bit shocked by the high price but they were the best company I talked with. They did the most thorough quote - spent a long time crawling under the home. When they started the install and I saw what they were doing the quote made more sense. Crawling around in an 18" crawlspace unfolding first a "rigid mat" and then rolling out the 20mil barrier over than and sealing all the seams and attaching it flat against every wall of the foundation. I had insulation, hvac workers and myself crawling over every inch of their work and nothing tore or came loose. Could also see they attached everywhere. Even center 4x4 support footings were carefully attached all the way around. My only quibble is the liner has a rather strong industrial odor that is taking quite a bit of time to dissipate but this is beyond their control. If you want the strongest 20mil it will smell industrial for a while.

The structural engineers quoted me $500 for an inspection and they wanted pictures from a foundation repair contractor anyways, since they wouldn't go into crawl spaces. I was losing sleep thinking about my uneven floors, so I decided to reach out to NorCal Ram Jack for a free estimate. What was there to lose? After filling out their online request form they reached out within a couple of hours and scheduled an appointment the following week with Adam, their Foundation Specialist. Adam showed up early and I was easily able to communicate my concerns to him. He measured the elevation differential throughout my house, asked about details of the removed wall and installed beam, and answered all my concerns. He walked us through his thought process and what signs of concerns we should look for that would warrant a foundation repair. We are lucky that our house currently doesn't have issues of concern, but I wouldn't hesitate to contact Ram Jack again with the peace of mind they gave us.

We appreciate the 2nd visit, no one had contacted me to change my 1star review, this is of my own doing a week later. No refund,no pay out, no negotiating, we didn't sign anything stating the review would come down after work was done. We appreciate all your guys hard work and cheerful attitude.
