My GC hired Aquila to install a mini split unit in my house when we decided to finish our attic into a living space. Aquila recommended that we install an expensive mini split unit instead of connecting the attic to our house's central HVAC system (other HVAC services have since questioned Aquila's recommendation - and as a result - I am now transitioning away from the mini split). Since this was my first experience doing a big renovation project, I didn't question Aquila's flawed approach. The mini split Aquila installed never worked right; it constantly leaked refrigerant. Their technicians visited my house many, many times since installing the mini split in 2024 to attempt to diagnose the issue. Finally, Aquila told me that they found green dye in the line connecting the mini split head to the condenser and that that their technicians would never have used the green dye. They alleged that I hired a third party to service the he system, which is absurd because it was still under warranty with Aquila. They used this lie as their justification to void the warranty. Beware of misinformation from Aquila Heating and Cooling. It's disappointing that we can't get a straight answer from Tony Aquila at Aquila Heating & Cooling about the AC that he installed at our home. Our system is leaking refrigerant. First, Aquila's technician Lee and owner Tony both said that the condenser is "just out of warranty," and we should buy an entirely new system, but we found by checking the manufacturer's website with the serial number that the condenser is still in warranty. We sent the warranty certificate to Aquila. Now Tony Aquila claims that HE discovered and told us that the unit is under warranty. This is a lie, as the email chain proves. Then, we found that the coil, a separate component, is out of warranty, because it had not been registered; our old email shows that we had asked Aquila about registering the purchase, at the time of installation, and Aquila assured us that the coil did not need to be registered. (Not to mention that Aquila sold us a coil from Ruud, but installed a coil from ADP, a separate company.) Most importantly, Aquila said it's not worth spending $300 to diagnose our (partly in-warranty) equipment, to see where the leak is. Now he claims he recommended that test -- another lie, as he and his employees are aware. After getting estimates and advice from several reputable companies, one is now doing that test, so we will know which part to replace, whether it's the condenser (in warranty, we now know) or the coil (out of warranty, we now know). Advising customers to buy $8,000-$10,000 in new equipment might be the right thing for the customer, and it's certainly easier money for the contractor -- it's a complicated decision. But misleading customers into buying new equipment, with false information about their warranties, is never justified. Just walk us through the options, please, and let us decide. The company has offered no answers to the questions about misinformation: Why did Aquila say the condenser is out of warranty, when the manufacturer says that it is in warranty? Why did Aquila say the registration of the coil wasn't necessary, when the manufacturer says that it isn't covered without it? Diminishing or ignoring these concerns is insulting. Beware. read more

Aquila responded to our "emergency call" this morning when our furnace stopped working. It was 19 degrees out and we have a 3 month old infant at home, they came right to the rescue! The tech Lee was professional and friendly. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot. We are extremely grateful! read more

Slow, unresponsive, way over priced. No follow up on phone calls. After paying a small fortune for some duct work, would not do any follow up work that would have taken very little time. I rate them the worst AVAC people. Choose someone else. They don't move unless the profits are very high. Vigorous hand gestures. read more

Do not use this company for anything! They came out to preform an annual service maintenance and cleaning on my boiler and within 5 weeks a had no heat due to the fact that the boiler was never cleaned. As soon as the emergency service technician cleaned it properly, the heat worked and has continued to work perfectly. I called them up to dispute the charge and they became quite nasty. I tried disputing the charge with my credit card company and they are continuing to fight me. If you use this company you might as well burn your money instead. At least the burning money will supply you with a little heat. It won't let me choose 0 stars unfortunately. read more

Aquila H&C installed new central air in my home and it has been fantastic! Their install was clean and efficient, and made possible by a friendly, hard-working crew. Since install, they have serviced my equipment and they have quickly responded to any questions I've had about my new system. In one instance, a thermostat stopped working (manufacturer defect)...I called Aquila and they replaced the next morning. Came within two days of calling during the busy season to repair our AC. Broken capacitor, as we suspected, for a total of $250 with tax, labor, parts, which is exactly the going rate. Have had nothing but great experiences working with Aquila. Reliable and reasonable. Quick story - we moved into a new house with a cottage. The AC was not working in the cottage so we called Aquila who came by quickly. A quick check by the maintenance team uncovered the issue - cottage is not AC equipped. I belong to a Home Warranty Group and I have had to spend 5 months trying to get my air conditioner fixed. After contacting the warranty company yet again, they contacted Aquila, and although we were out of their area, they went out of their way to come the very next day and have my air conditioner up and running in less than 1 hour. I had been using a big name HVAC company, and was at my wit's end this past Memorial Day weekend. They have 24/7 on call techs, but this time, they only had one. He was very disrespectful, condescending and demeaning, and had me in tears. I reported him to the service manager and I doubt anything will be done about his behavior. He came to my home accused me of forgetting to put the AC on (really?), and made other snide comments. He told me nothing was wrong with my AC, because at the time, it was cooling for all of 4 hours. He checked the attic and said everything was fine. It was not. I refused to let this man back in my home, and stuck it out in my 78 degree home for 6 days. I had to sleep in my car two nights, and I'm not well nor is my dog. Tuesday I called Aquila Heating and Cooling, and they fit me for Wednesday. Tony Aquila came out, found the problem immediately (a clogged drain) and had my system running within 15 mins. He also checked my unit for leaks and refrigerant, which the other tech did not or he would have found the clogged drain. I now have a cool home, and won't need a new unit, compressor or thermostats as was thought to have been the problem by the other company. Tony was so professional, knows his stuff and I can't say enough good things about him. We have had a lot of misfortune over the past 8 months, and he was an answer to my prayers.
