This place is currently housed in the building that previously had my fav thai place 511! Ar Haan has since occupied the building and elevated the aesthics of the interior building significantly! Very cute decor inside and unique art. They have a robust menu with a variety to choices to pick from. I ordered the crab fried rice spicy! And a side of veggie egg rolls. Excellent! I normally order my fried rice without eggs because I dont really care for eggs but this was perfect even with the eggs. The eggs rolls were good and fried to perfection. Overall Ar Haan offers very hood that good and the service was great our waitress was attentive and greeted us as soon as we were seated. Now the downside is they have limited parking.

Tried Ar-Haan for the first time and was really impressed. We ordered a classic yellow curry and a spicy pad Thai. The curry was perfect for me with potatoes, onions, and carrots, and they brought chili oil on the side which was a great touch. The restaurant is tucked inside a cute house just off the street. The parking lot is small, maybe enough for seven or eight cars, but we found easy street parking right across the way. It was decently busy for a Saturday night but we got a table without a wait. The food was warm and hit the spot. A little on the pricier side for Thai (I think $18 per plate) but I would definitely come back!

I used my GPS to find the restaurant and of course it led me to a locked gate for the High School for Health Professions. I was on the phone with Daphne and she guided me to the restaurant! She was also my waitress! OMG the rice is steaming and the crab is present and abundant! I asked for the medium heat and I am feeing it! For the record I hadn't tasted my drink when the crab fried rice arrived!!! Of course I tried the crab fried rice first! Yes it was fresh, steam came off it when I used my fork to get my first bite! I loved the atmosphere had soft music playing in the background and Ok I am used to salty food and requested soy sauce for the salt. I am coming back! Family restaurants are great when they work. For now this one is working. Get here soon or miss out on an exceptional experience! A young man next to me has a dish I thought looked intriguing so I asked if I could take a picture and he said yes. GN3

My friend and I were excited to try this restaurant but were disappointed to find when we arrived that the restaurant was closed without prior notice, no adjustment to hours online and no info on when it was going to reopen. I hope the owners help update the public in the future if there are any changes to restaurant hours so that other customers can avoid experiencing the same disappointment.

Back in Houston for finals and I stopped by Ar-Haan in the med center for a quick dinner. They have very limited parking spots, with a few in the front and some in the back as well. The Thai restaurant feels like an old house that has been converted. My friend got the chicken pad Thai and I got the pad wonton (crispy pad Thai) with pork. We both got medium spice as well. The pad wonton is more saucy, which is a little acidic and fish sauce like? It coats the crispy wonton noodle but doesn't overly drench it. The pork is pretty tender and there's a perfect amount of crunch of the peanuts and onions as well. Honestly the crispy noodles are pretty good but I would still prefer the original pad Thai version. My friends dish was good as well, the chicken had a bit of smoke to it which was nice.

Although a bit pricey, we enjoyed our meal at Ar-Haan-- the food is definitely tasty and beautifully presented with flowers and colorful garnishes. The ambiance has definitely improved from the previous restaurant in this little house with flowers and lamps at each table, modern table seating, nice plates, and the absence of sewer smells. And the service is still just as friendly. We asked for "no spicy" for all of our dishes (we're wimps!), and the server said that he would just put all our dishes as a Mild spicy... which we thought would be fine until our first dish, the Zesty Glass Noodle (Yum Woon Sen), came out. It was colorful and pretty, but mannnn it was soooo spicy! We managed several bites but I downed the entire carafe of water and my taste buds took a while to recover. I could appreciate that the shrimp was plump and perfectly cooked, but even with things being so spicy, the salad was missing *something* (maybe the sweetness and more acidity of lime?) that other versions of this dish have. When paying the bill, the receipt listed the glass noodles as a Medium spicy instead of Mild, which explained things. A little bummed because we couldn't really eat or enjoy that dish. Luckily, our other dishes were much less spicy-- the wings were fried nicely without being too oily, and the meat was juicy. The Thai laarb seasoning was unique and tasty! The pumpkin curry was essentially a red curry sauce with kabocha pumpkin pieces, which were not soft enough and still on the starchy side... but I enjoyed the curry sauce flavor especially with the white rice :) The Khao Soi was delectably yummy! The sauce was savory but definitely sweet. They were out of short rib, so we got the chicken thigh, which was a little messy to eat. The dish came with a mountain of soft noodles hiding beneath the surface that contrasted well with the crispy noodles that softened a bit after soaking up the flavorful curry. Scrumptious! Overall, the food gets high marks. A few tweaks on flavor, texture, and getting our spiciness preference right would easily amp that up more. There are tiny parking lots up at the front and in the back. The price and parking are a bit of a hindrance, but we will return to try some other dishes after rotating at some other Thai spots-- definitely worth trying out though!

I have nostalgia for this location going back to when it was an Italian place. I know it's cycled through some other places, but I really love this reincarnation of the interior and what they did. Super light airy and charming. Food was good, albeit a bit spicy for our little. I'm generally iffy on Thai food (just not the biggest fan of the flavor profile and all the coconut) but I absolutely loved the glass noodles. It appeared kind of small but it's jam packed and the flavors are bold but all mesh well. Hubs and the kiddo got yellow curry and a beef something or other, like I said a bit spicy for the kiddo but both said it was good. We did an order or spring rolls for the table, not much to write home about; the peanut sauce had a Thai take and whole it was cool to try something new, I'll be sticking with my Vietnamese place for spring rolls. All in all, food was good, service was fine. Food is kinda on the pricier side for what it is, but we enjoyed our meal all the same.

So... I was some distance away but seen CRAB FRIED RICE on the menu and had to have it! Of course I called my order in.... I want to eat when I hit the door and it was ready too. Very pleasant and patient customer service. I also ordered a Dr. pepper with ice and my order was roughly $30. Very gracious amount of crab meat and rice. I had enough for dinner later that night. It was spicy too! Loveeeeeeeeeeeed.

This place has changed owner again but keep the same Thai cuisine. The place is nice but parking is extremely limited so it will be a problem for the restaurant. Food wise was ok not that great. I do have better Thai before and price range is quite over priced for Holcombe area. $19 for lunch is a bit high.

Khai Soi with suspended chopsticks in crispy noodles

Ar-Haan recently reopened after a brief hiatus (renovations & road construction). While Holcombe is still being repaved, it will thankfully be done soon. Please do not let that deter you from dining here! The menu has been expanded to include more curries, shareables & chef specialties. Everything is as delicious as ever with even more to explore & enjoy. Service is friendly and welcoming --top notch hospitality! You'll feel like family. There's also a new VIP room to the side, a partially private booth to comfortably seat 5-6. In the upcoming months, the second floor will have fresh fruit/dessert options (just in time for the Houston heat). Please support this restaurant. Your belly will be SO happy!

A new Thai spot opened up in that little White House on Holcombe!! I don't know what this location cycles through so many different Thai places but I hope this one has some luck and sticks!! The interior is small, but super clean and decorated well. It's run by a Thai couple so you know the food is authentic! Thai tea was delicious! And our food was pretty good as well! The dish of the night would be the red curry and the Phad See Ew! We enjoyed the Phad Thai as well but it had a kick to it even when ordered mild! The papaya salad was the least favorite, I think cause the flavors weren't developed enough and it was pretty underwhelming! The mango sticky rice was presented well and delicious! Service was quick and so so friendly!! We enjoyed our food and our evening, and would definitely be back!

This place is a hidden gem tucked into a cute resto home. I've had food from uber eats and wanted to go to dine in. Almost all their food is amazing. I need to try other dishes, but this place truly tastes authentic and not very Thai American which I love. I recommend trying their fried fish. It's double fried and glazed with spicy sauce. People there are very friendly. I hope this restaurant stays in business.

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. Next, I had the Three Dots and a Daiquiri ($13) with Rum, Lime, Velvet Falernum, All Spice and Pineapple and it was very similar to one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Three Dots and a Dash, complete with 3 luxardo cherries. To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt. It is equally beautiful served with a clear bay leaf and delicious. Last night, I was guided by the friendly bartender to try the Et Tu Banana" ($15) with Banana Bourbon, Spiced Pear, Creme de Banane, Campari and Citric Acid. I was a little worried about the cocktail being overly banana-y but it wasn't at all. It was a fantastic drink. For my last call, he recommended the Left Hand ($13) with Bourbon, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Chocolate Bitters. Again, fantastic. Both nights, the bartenders and drinks were fantastic. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal.
