We where done waiting, our waitress said that tables have been waiting since 7:15, almost 2 1/2 from that time. I told them to bring our check we were leaving and to cancel the entire. 5 minutes later, the manager comes walking out with a food. I told him. No, we are good, send it back. He told us it normally takes 2 hours to get an entree. No apology acted as if it was our fault. Felt very disrespected. We Left and went outside. Walk back in to speak with the manager, who happened to be the guy who brought out our entrees. Still no apology, talked down to us and said he's been here since the beginning and that's how long it takes. So yeah, I made a scene. My wife was upset. Arabellas is our new favorite place. Downtown Winter Haven is such a hidden gem! I can't believe I've lived this close and never ventured down there. Make sure you make reservations because it's always full!! Dining at Arabella's is an entire experience. There's a wonderful pianist who can literally play it all. From Frank Sinatra to Guns n Roses! The fresh table side Caesar salad is amazing! In between apps and your entree they bring sorbet to cleanse your palate. Their entrees are large portions and full of flavor! DO NOT SKIP DESSERT!! We also had the "Chicken Parmignia" over pasta which was one of the best we have had! Both entrees came with a side salad and of course bread service. They even serve my favorite Prosecco, "Lamarca"! We went for my Grandma's 84th birthday. She was apprehensive to go because she heard it was expensive, but I was adamant we make reservations for her birthday! I read some of the other reviews, saw the photos and thought, this looks like the best restaurant in Winter Haven and IT IS! I will say this is a fine dining experience! Everything is priced exceptionally well for the experience, the quality of the food and all around atmosphere! A glass of wine is less than $11 at a fine dining restaurant! The portion sizes are large! The Caesar Salad is made tableside! Before the main course we were served a sorbet to cleanse the palate. The ambience and live music was exceptional! We were given a card at the beginning of the night to request 3 songs for the pianist to play! He was great! They could seat us though due to a cancellation and the sincerely apologized so all was good, except we had beef seated behind a party of 30 upstairs. Our 7:30 reservation lasted until 10:30 when we finally finished. Nice problem for them but that was the longest I'd ever sat for a meal with nothing more than a few "I'm sorry" sprinkled through the night. We had live piano playing, the absolute BEST service from CHASE. Even the bartender personally delivered a drink after correcting a mistake. Disappointed on this second visit from Orlando to celebrate a local birthday. The problem was the wait time. Literally over an hour wait for the entrées and they were brought to the table only after we asked. We had reservations for 1pm and the wait staff was more concerned over turning the empty restaurant for the evening meal. We had a 30 minute wait for cocktails, and 3 out of the 5 meals were mediocre. Did I mention the 20% automatic tip placed on the bill for a table of 5? This has been our go to restaurants for many years for special occasions, however, after our most recent visit I do not know if my wife and I will return. The service was five star, however, that hostess that seated us never smiled or spoke kind word. The reason for the three star rating had to do with the quality and the price of one of the specials served that evening which three or four of the people in our party ordered. Shame on us but not one of us asking the price nor was it disclosed by our waiter. It was a seafood trio consisting of an over cooked lobster tail, sea scallops & shrimp. The food was not even hot. PERFECTTO! Just learned about Arabellas Italian restaurant tonight and learned in the past it had been voted best restaurant in Polk County. From entrance to exit this place WOW'd us. My husband and I came out for dinner and since we're still new to the area turned to Yelp to help us out. The ambiance is classy casual with live piano music. Our server was Grace who was excellent and very attentive. We started our course with bruschetta and calamari. Since we've visited Italy we like to do some comparisons and let me tell you, this restaurant provides cooking like the old country. I'm use to mama's bruschetta and hadnt found anyones that can come close but I think I finally found a contender. The bruschetta has fresh parmesean pieces with the perfect combination of oil and vinaigrette. The calamari was great but could be a bit crisper. The house salad came out and it was the perfect size with Italian vinaigrette, then came mango gelato (YUM!) to cleanse the palette and prepare us for the main course. I had a delicious chicken and pasta plate while my husband had a trio of filet mignon, crab and prawns. The flavor absolutely delicious. Taste that makes you dance in your seat. Then onto dessert... we ordered the Cherries Jubilee that is prepared table side for two. The gentleman that prepared it was dressed to the 9's and had skill as he handled the ingredients in the live flame. It was very artistic and I am so glad we got to experience it, not to mention it is by far one the best desserts we've shared. I have been looking forward to writing this review. My husband, son, and I were in the Winterhaven area for my work. We were there for a few nights and I looked up the finest dining restaurants in the area and made a reservation at each. I was able, fortunately to get a reservation at Arabella's for a Friday evening. Which also happened to be our last night there. Leading up to this experience, we had one unfortunate dining experience after another. Leading us to believe that there really wasn't a lot of great options in the area. Arabella's proved us all wrong. Located in the heart of Winter Haven's Times Square. It was exactly the fine dining experience that we were hoping for on our last day of our one week trip. They were very accommodating to our nine-month-old son, they had a menu boasting of pretty much only incredible options from seafood, to fillets, to the most delicious pasta dishes. As well as incredible appetizers, desserts, and cocktail options. We decided we were going in! There was a live pianist there who came up to our table and asked us to write down a list of requests. He was able to play a few of them and it was really nice. We had two servers and they were both great, very attentive. As it got busier later on they were a little bit spread thin, but by that point we were almost out of there. The bread was so delicious. It was served warm, which is my favorite and the butter was whipped, also my favorite. Let's just say I had a few pieces to start off with. I had a delicious glass of pinot Grigio as my husband opted for bourbon on the rocks. We didn't indulge in any of the specials, but for appetizers we had the tiger shrimp which happens to be one of my favorite Italian appetizers. I got the salmon for my entrée and my husband ordered the fillet. Tiramisu happens to be one of my favorite desserts as I am an Italian so I had to indulge in that as well. It was funny because typically when tiramisu is served it's a smaller slice, but this particular slice was like five in one. I couldn't even get through it. Damn you, Bread! Overall, this was such an incredible way to end our trip. The manager even came over and introduced himself and chatted with us for about five minutes. We were so thrilled that we complimented him and the restaurant over and over again. A big shout out to Jeff, the manager, Abigail the host, Ala and Vinny our servers, and of course the pianist whose name we never got. I highly recommend this restaurant. I would travel back to Winterhaven just for Arabella's. Also, did you know that Arabella means "beautiful altar" or "yielding to prayer." They're not open on Sundays FYI. Attempted to go on a Sunday, ended up trying it the following Saturday and was mostly impressed. The family and I were in Winter Haven, and our expectations were set to an appropriate level for restaurants; they definitely exceeded. It is a nice cozy environment, clean, nice attentive staff, nice ambience. They had a piano player that played many songs we asked for, and even some our daughter (5 year old) asked for, such as a Disney princess song. He not only played piano, he played accordion (for happy birthday table-side with another party), harmonica, and what may have been a piccolo or recorder; very nice fellow that made sure we were happy. Food-wise, the calamari was excellent; perfectly prepared, not too much breading, large portion. Salads were also great, and they serve a raspberry sorbet between courses. Even though we were feeling Italian at the onset of the evening, things went in a steak direction after looking at the menu because the options sounded very tasty and they had Bearnaise sauce; a requirement of my wife's. She did the 6oz filet, and I did their "Filetto al Pepe Verde" which is a filet with green peppercorns and brandy cream sauce. Unfortunately both steaks were past the requested temps of rare and medium rare. The rare was not too far off, but my medium rare was definitely pushing the boundaries of even medium. I'm still going with four stars because every interaction with the service staff went so well, I'm sure they'd have rectified the situation if we had voiced a concern, but after walking seven miles at Legoland all day, it being late, and us being fairly ravenous at this point, we just ate. Even though the temp was not to our liking, the taste was still on point, and I really enjoyed the green peppercorns and sauce on mine.
