We went to Andrea's Family Restaurant yesterday. It was absolutely FANTASTIC! We were greeted and seated right away. Kate, our server, was such a treat! She went over the specials with us, and then the hunt was on! I am truly shocked by the true value you get here! For example, we got the Fried Chicken dinner.. you get four pieces of chicken, two sides of your choice, a salad AND a soup!!! All for only $14.99! The portions are HUGE! Everything was absolutely perfect! Unfortunately, I pretty much filled up on the soup and salad, but now I have leftovers for today! If you have not been, do yourself a favor and go! Food, tasty. Service, quick and friendly. Ambiance, festive. The restaurant was very nice, but I got my food to go because they were getting close to closing. I got the Trip to Greece platter that came with a mix of several things. It had gyro meat, stuffed dolmas, spinach pie, a Greek salad, and a big bowl of tzatziki sauce with pita bread. It was all very tasty and a good introduction to the restaurant. The only concern I had was the amount of stuffed dolmas I got, it was almost too much. I'd have traded a few for a couple more slices of gyro meat or more pita bread. I'll be back! read more

From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and attentive to our needs. We were immediately sat down and provided menus. We quickly noticed the pictures on the wall which really told you the story of how Chef Andreas came to fruition. This is a wonderful family restaurant! It felt like we were all welcomed at home for dinner together. Great conversations and laughter. Food was bright in color and rich in flavor! We always drive by and only regret not coming sooner! Also, it was a joy to speak with the staff that many have been there for years, "because you can't find a person to work with that has a heart like Andreas!". We loved the different stories about Chef Andreas. Our favorite story was told to us by Kaitlyn and it truly displayed his great heart! That's the secret to his food! He pours genuine love into what he does. During the pandemic, he still wanted his local community of frequent visitors to enjoy his food so they could feel a sense of normality in day to day living while quarantined, so he hand delivered to each household food for free so they may enjoy! I've gotten takeout from here once and also eaten inside, and both times I really enjoyed the Greek chicken dinner plate. The rice is cooked perfectly, the chicken is well seasoned and flavorful, and the tzatziki sauce is on point. That said, the dish is on the saltier side. My boyfriend didn't enjoy his meal as much. He ordered the crab cakes and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was very plain--more suited for kids or anyone who prefers bland food--and the crab cakes were also quite salty. I didn't realize at first how large the menu is. This isn't just a Greek restaurant; it's more of a classic diner with something for everyone. Loved it so much we came back again 2 days later! We had the delicious chili, Greek salad to die for, and perfect black and blue burger. I went here expecting a Greek restaurant and when I walked in and saw all the "American" menu options, I started to get a little worried about the legitimacy of the Greek food, but I'm already sat down and decide to go for it. Everyone around was eating the American food which did not look too appetizing, so I went for the Trip to Greece platter since that's what I came for and boy was a pleasantly surprised! The dolmas were perfection! The last time I had them that good was overseas! The green salad and other platter items were excellent as well. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but the greek side of the menu is great. P.s. I also got the calamari appetizer by suggestion of the sweet waitress. First time here. The menus are pretty darn cool looking. I posted pictures below. They are made of cardboard. Three of the main things I came for I really did not like - broccoli, gyro meat too salty, spinach pie too greasy, and rice pudding too watery but The stuffed grape leaves were amazing. I would return just for these. Plus homemade pita bread was just as delicious wish there were more. The tzakitzi sauce was awesome as well. Some hits and some misses. I will come again and try some other things. The staff were all super friendly. They have key lime, banana cream pie, baklava, and chocolate cream pie for dessert as well. First experience at Andreas Family Restaurant today and we enjoyed it. We ordered a Pita Platter appetizer which had Kalimantan olives, sliced cucumber dolomades, gyro meat, pita triangles and tzatziki sauce ($7.99), Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and rice pilaf with a side of sausage gravy ($10.99) and Grilled Mediterranean Haddock with a side of mashed potatoes, brown gravy and steamed broccoli ($12.99). The appetizer was tasty and filling for two people. The country fried steak was really tasty and easy to cut with a fork. The mashed potatoes were room temperature which was a little disappointing but still tasty, the rice pilaf was a bit heavy on the salt, otherwise tasty. The white creamy sausage gravy was really tasty. The Haddock was a sizable portion and tasty by itself. It had a Mediterranean sauce on it that was tasty although a bit heavy on the salt. The brown gravy was overly salty and best we ordered it on the side as that is just where it stayed. The steamed broccoli was fresh and steamed not swimming in butter like many restaurants serve. Our server today was Kelly and she was friendly and helpful. The dining room isn't huge and it feels comfortable. This is a restaurant we will come back to enjoy again. read more

I feels like I've just been incredibly lucky since moving here and all my reviews are about great things. This may be one of the best since moving here. First, wonderful staff. Loved the atmosphere from the moment I walked in. You can tell that most people who were there do so on a fairly regular occasion. It felt more like a family gathering than a restaurant at times. Tables joking with one another, servers antagonizing regulars in the best ways. Just a happy place to unwind and enjoy a good meal. And my goodness is it a good meal. I know I haven't even scratched the surface of all the great tastes this place has. Having a Greek background (the location, not I, but a man can dream) I chose to stick with the Greek offerings. (I had been craving spanakopita and dolmas, so the Trip to Greece platter was calling to me from the outset. All the birds, one giant stone. Seriously. Look at the pictures. I was alone. My breakfast in the morning is going to be one of the best starts I've had to a day in a long while. Those pictures combined are the Trip to Greece. All inclusive. For an amazing price (triply so given the worlds current stupid financial insanity). The flavors were all singing. It's been SO LONG since I haven't had to go to a fast casual place for Greek food that I had completely forgotten that a proper one is served on potato salad, and that re-introduction was just the start of the tastiness to come. The only small thing about the meal was one side of a couple slices of gyro meat were cooked just a bit long, but it didn't alter the overall taste of the meal. Everything complimented one another. The briny flavors in the dolmas cut into the richness of the cheese and the earthiness of the spinach in the spanakopita, the gyro meat with the fresh tomato, tzatziki, and feta made for wonderful bites for a total change of pace, and the olives and peppers kept the flavors changing and alive. I think the best part though was it tasted like it came from a family kitchen instead of being churned through a fast casual processor. So happy I found this place. Can't wait to try more of the menu, and also see about the breakfasts! Wouldn't argue if I ended up becoming one of those regulars like I spoke of at the beginning. What a waste of time and money. I ordered the gyro with fries from this supposedly Greek food restaurant. Pita was thin, hard and burned and served open faced like a tostada. I was starving so I didn't care because at least it was edible. Service was fast and friendly and the place was clean. I normally don't like to bash mom n pop restaurants but the icing on the cake was the credit card fee at the end. I questioned it and the lady pointed at the sign on the counter, which I couldn't even read because the print was infinitesimal. My wife, kids and I LOVE Andrea's! we go there all the time for breakfast, you can't beat 2 eggs that includes 2 sides home fries or grits and your choice of bacon, ham or sausage patty and toast all for $5,59 a person. We were a little disappointed earlier this year when they stopped serving breakfast and were closed until lunch but now that they're reopened for breakfast we're very happy campers. read more

We went to have dinner yesterday. It definitely is outdated and run down but I really appreciate a ok'd school Greek diner. We ordered dinner and somehow it took 45 minutes to prepare a simple meal. There were very few customers there. The waitress brought our salads promptly but both of our tomatoes were brown and rotting. My husband ordered a fish fry and there was a 6 inch hair deep fried into the batter of the fish. The manager never apologized and did comp his meal after the waitress insisted. Second time eating here in a week and they did. It disappoint. My wife got a togo order this week, and this led us to wanting more. We ate in the restaurant today, and again we were amazed. The food is amazing, flavorful, and great portions. The service is top notch, never letting a drink go dry, making sure we had all the condiments needed, and even made sure we had extra napkins. (Sometimes, it's the little things that make the experience) I ordered the Spinach Pie and Greek salad earlier this week, and tried the Gyro and fries today. This flavor and quality give a close run to going to Tarpon Springs. My wife tried the salmon, she said it was good and flavorful and then tried the fried chicken today. Half a chicken, fried in golden nectar, absolutely the best I have had in years when she let me taste a sample bite. The restaurant is a quaint mom and pop style establishment, but clean and the staff is very attentive. Why have we not been going here for years? If you are in the Winter Haven area or near Havendale Blvd stop by for great Greek cuisine. I know I will be back. read more

Disappointed in my most recent visit. I've been several times with my 80+ yr old dad and had noticed some huge great looking pancakes coming out of the kitchen. So on this visit, I decided to order the Andrew's Platter ($10.99 plus tax), so I could try a bit of everything. I also decided to give my 80+ yr old mother one of my pancakes (it comes with two) since I assumed I couldn't eat two large ones. My entree also included 2 eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage. However, when it arrived the pancakes looked like the ones from McDonald's...VERY SMALL. I immediately said something to the waitress and she said pancake 'entrees' come with large pancakes, but the ones served with combos meals are smaller! So, I'm providing a warning to those ordering pancakes...this restaurant serves TWO SIZES. But they don't tell you about this wonderful policy, so let this be a little warning. Then to add insult to injury the bill comes out and we were charged a 'sharing fee.' All because I was going to give my mother one of my pancakes. She had taken some meds before we headed to breakfast and ate a bit of food with it. As a result she wasn't super hungry when we arrived. However, my father and I ordered breakfast and each spent about the same amount. The waitress didn't even bother telling us there would be a 'sharing' charge. So, lesson learned...we would have been better off (had we known about the fee ) letting my mom order a single pancake $3.99, and I could have eaten both my small kid size pancakes instead of sharing. Unfortunately Andreas is inconsistent. Sometimes I eat there and the food is delicious and quickly prepared; other times it takes a very longtime and is poorly prepared. The owner is very nice. I think they need more staff and supervision. read more

I was really disappointed that we were changed $1.98 "customer service" fee to use our debit card! Our bill was over $50 and to have to pay another $2 is ridiculous!! This place is packed & popular Sundays, so somebody must like it, but we won't be adding to the melee ever again. The restaurant is outdated. The hostess stand is by the door so that if even one couple is waiting, everyone else is out the door on the sidewalk. Arriving at 11, we were seated and ordered reubens at 11:10. The water tastes like well water. ew (Smaller glasses would've been fine. ha) After 15 minutes more, we were told they were out of kraut, did we want our reubens anyway? umm, hello. Then it's not a reuben. And why didn't they tell us they were out upon ordering? Sooo 45 minutes from being seated, we received our alternate meals, AFTER every other person (and 5 tables who came after us) were served. My friend's "rare" bacon burger was medium well and came painted with honey mustard, not asked for. My veggie burger was overcooked, tasteless shoe leather. The ketchup, mustard & pickle tasted great. The potato salad was half creamy, half chunky and all grainy with no good "flavor", we left it behind. The biggest insult came with the bill. Two $9 burgers with tax in the total, $19.24. An additional .72 "service fee" was charged on top of this, no explanation. (31% extra in tax, tip & fee???) The tip was put on the charge card, but the clerk gave it back to us as cash to put on the table-let them give it to the waitress, we shouldn't have to fight back to the table to put it there.......this place is crowded, noisy, never see the (tattoed) waitress, poor quality food and with weird payment practices, for what you get. This is your good old family diner that's kept small and traditional. I love the food but the service is terrible. I keep coming back because my boyfriend loves it and it was one of the first places we went to when we first started dating. They redid the menu and cut it down to the basics and its improved so much since they're arent so many things to look into or arent on an index card. I ordered the corned beef hash with my eggs over medium with hashbrowns and toast. The toast was super crunchy, not sure if it's from old bread being toasted or it was over toasted. We arrived late after 7.pm there were several people eating and customers coming in, and several were coming in for carry out. We ate in one dinner of sirloin steak one hamburger, one chicken gizzard dinner. I had the sirloin, well done, it was perfect. Tender tasty, and it was so good that the seasonings made it so good. The hamburger was right. The meat was cooked, and the toppings were just right. The fries were hot and fresh. The gizzard dinner were so good that we get ours well done, and that makes them really tender. We all had the specialty of the house Carrot Souffle. And creamed corn. Yummy. The servers were ready to serve and checked back several times. Since Pappa retired, I wondered how it would be. It's all good. Pappa ran a tight ship. The son not so much. He needs to be there at night service. I never see him there. They just started breakfast, so maybe he is there for that. I would be there for dinner service once a week. My wife and I went there for lunch on 04/10/2022. We had been there twice before the pandemia and it had been good experiences. This time it was bad, a big disappointment. We entered and ordered take-out. Wait was long. When we received the order we found they had charged an extra $1.12 as "check out fee" on top of the $29.94. When we opened the containers at home we found the portions served were very, very small. The taste of the skimpy rice and beef was mediocre. The salad was not remarkable, run-of-the mill. I particularly like the 3 egg breakfast which includes choice of meat (bacon, sausage) choice of grits or hash browns and toast. Plenty of food at a very reasonable price. They have daily breakfast and dinner specials in addition to the extensive homestyle food menu items. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the staff is courteous and efficient. Very attentive and quick to please. My friends asked to sample the spaghetti sauce because she is picky about sauces and Regina promptly brought it. My friend said I will definitely have the spaghetti after tasting it. The bring you warm cornbread as you are waiting for your meal and it was very tasty.
