Since we were there pretty early there were no lines and seemed like a good amount of vendors were already set up. We decided to look through all the stalls and then decided what to order. We got a ton of things and everything we ordered were less than $15. They included grilled squid body ($13), bbq pork or chicken skewers (10/$10!!), Laos sausage ($5), pandan and Thai tea buns (3/$6), longan juice ($5), Thai tea ($4), beef soup ($10), pandan and coconut jello ($5), and nam khao tod ($10). Everything was delicious! My favorites were the pork skewers (so juicy), the pandan bun (strong pandan flavor and not too sweet), the squid (came with an awesome garlic sauce), and the nam khao tod (so savory and goes great with the lettuce)! All the vendors were extremely friendly and suggested things to try or gave out samples. I think some vendors were missing at the time we went like the pandan crepes, crispy pork belly, and seafood so I would definitely come back to try them but also get some of the same things! It was super cool to be able to experience this because there were a lot of items that I hadn't seen before or as often in Thai restaurants in the US.

These were one of the best skewers I've had in a while! Well marinated and no more than $3.50 each!

My favorite and must have is the grilled chicken thighs! The chicken skewers are well marinated, a subtle touch of sweetness. The chicken thighs are tender, and perfectly grilled. The cost is $3 per skewer. Definitely worth a shot. The crepe is a great dessert option. It is $10 for 3 toppings. There are various topping options, fruits, syrups, salty, etc. The crepe is made in front of you. Another great sweet dish option is mango sticky rice. The sticky rice is well flavored with a hint of coconut, but the mango wasn't too fresh. There's no spot for seating, no chairs and no tables. Since it is a night street market, don't have too much expectation on the cleanliness. Bring your own napkins, hand sanitizer, etc. Vendor owners are friendly and welcoming. Zelle is accepted, but cash is more convenient. There's a free parking place in a nearby plaza. Recommend getting a try for some authentic Thai food in town.

*** Cash or Zelle only ***…read more Alejandra's Quesadilla is a food cart located in Echo Park (more specifically right next to LADOT Lot 643 - 1147 Echo Park Ave). The food cart specializes in blue corn quesadillas. The food cart has been around for 20 years and is now run by Alejandra's daughter. [Parking]: Metered street parking is available or just park at LADOT Lot 643. [Atmosphere]: Takeout only and our party ended up eating the quesadilla in my car. [Ordering]: One of the ladies took my order and another lady did the grilling. Once the quesadillas are ready, customers can add various condiments like cactus, mild salsa, red salsa, and cilantro. The cart is quite popular and our party had to wait approximately 15 minutes on Sunday at 6:15 PM. All quesadillas are cooked to order and the lady manually pressed every blue corn tortilla by hand. [Menu]: The cart offers chicken, pork, chorizo, squash blossoms (flor de calabaza), chicharrón, potato, and huitlacoche (corn smut, or the "Mexican truffle"). Customers can mix and match fillings like chorizo and potato. *** Squash Blossom Quesadilla ($8): The order came with an extra piece of skirt steak. This quesadilla tasted much better than I had expected and it was actually quite delicious. I was a big fan of the mild green salsa and it definitely enhanced the overall flavor. *** It was an unexpected street food find and I can actually see myself revisiting this food cart and try different quesadilla options whenever I am in the Echo Park area.

El Gato Night Market is packed with amazing food, drinks, and adorable vendors, but Ariana's always steals the show for me. The staff are super sweet, quick, and you can taste the love in every bite. The crepe is warm and perfectly balanced -- the rich chocolate and pistachio cream blend together perfectly with that crunchy kataifi, while the strawberries add a fresh, juicy touch. They're only open Thursday through Sunday, which makes the wait feel like part of the ritual -- and totally worth it every single time. Located at RFK High School in Koreatown LA, this location was central and provided lots of space for food stands, food trucks, games, merch stands, drink stands, music stage, you name it. They even had a (huge) sneaker expo stand! I did not see any performers on the music stage, but they posted some content online and it looks like they killed it! Minzy from 2NE1 headlined the first night. I did not have a chance to see everything as I was with a group of people (takes longer to do virtually everything), but there was so much to see! The food I did try: Xing Fu Tang strawberry boba, yakitori yado mochi chicken skewer, kimchi rice ball, pork belly rice ball, thai basil chicken. Everything was good. It was busy! Get there early as by 7:30pm or so it was wall to wall people (some wearing masks, some not as they were recommended only). Had a great time - they have rebooted this event so well!

They have big seating area and nice spots in corners for you to sit on the floor tho. Ticket is $10 (plus service fee if you buy online). Parking structure is $18. You will have to walk, since it's in the middle of city.

I tried a different one where the guy was from Connecticut and "learned how to make BBQ in Pennsylvania". I saw the red flag and still ate there. (Eye roll). When going to make payment, he was a weasel and was like, "You have to press one of the boxes. I'll turn around so you can press one of the boxes," regarding a tip. Nothing like pressuring someone to tip you when they're already spending money on the food. We ordered dessert from one of the carts and it was delicious! The best part was the little kid handing out samples and describing what all the desserts are to you. Adorable! Good salesman. The sushi cart ( IG @onsitesushi) was pure fire!!!! I do not regret that choice. Had I not gotten sushi, I'd have still been hungry after the mediocre white guy bbq. I had a deep fried California roll. SO GOOD and a rainbow roll to take home, which was also SUPER DELICIOUS! This night market is a MUST! I would definitely go again and hopefully the next time, the churro man, who my friend said was usually there, will be there.
