    Asada tacos

10/10 One of the best asada tacos in town. Handmade tortillas, smokey bbq'd asada, and creamy guacamole salsa. Go when they're less busy. I only order the asada because I see them bbq it fresh. Service is on point too, nice workers.

This was my first time stopping to try Doña Estela food truck food. I pass by this place every day on my way home from work and finally decided to stop by and I'm am happy I did. This place is a hidden gem. I tried their tostada de Aguachiles Rojo is was so good with great taste. I'm a huge Mariscos fan and if I tell you the tostada was good it means it was really good. They have outside seating with shade and service is great. I will definitely be stopping more often and eventually trying their whole menu

Saw the sign for $1.50 tacos and I figured why not. They were parked across from Angel City Brewery. I tried the al pastor taco which honestly tasted a bit flavorless. I would come back here to try other things, but based on the al pastor taco alone, I give it 3 stars. There is also a $0.45 processing fee on all debit and credit card purchases (sign by the register).

A great taco truck to stumble upon on your way to/from the bars in the area. We had a California burrito and tostada mixta. Both were excellent, the seafood was fresh, even the raw pieces. Perfect two items to share!

Bomb *** authentic tacos! So much flavor. The men working this truck are putting in the WORKS and deserve all the business. 3 tacos were roughly $6-7. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area. They are located on S. Alameda St. They also offer lots of different seafood options. I ordered the carnitas tacos and the carnitas had a nice crisp- just like eating pernil during holidays.

I love these fried shrimp tacos so much.

Dona Estela is now... Dona Estela MARISCOS! During the pandemic, Hector and Rosa decided to try something new and switched to a mariscos (seafood) concept. Do you know how happy this has made me? I can find a million taco spots open in the evening, but very few mariscos ones! Don't worry - you can still order some menus from their original menu as well (al pastor tacos, yes please). HIGHLY recommend the tacos dorados de Camaron - crispy hard shell shrimp taco! It is unbelievable... move aside Mariscos Jaliscos and Mariscos 4 Vientos, there's a new shrimp taco in town. This has more shrimp flavor, less filler, and the light salsa on top with the sliced avocado.... I dream about this taco. Every bite is crunchy, creamy, and flavorful. Fish tacos are the same from their previous menu, giant, lightly battered, crispy fish pieces with a delicious white sauce. Also love the shrimp and octopus cocktail, comes in a small or large size, generous portion, fresh seafood, plump shrimp, soft octopus, and the most refreshing tomato "broth." I could drink it. We always buy a large and save half for the next day, it gets better in the fridge with flavors mixing even more. Ceviche is also solid, nice balanced flavors with a stack of tostadas. And the habanero salsa. The same one that made me fall in love with this truck from the start. I pour it on everything and it is soo spicy with so much flavor, without overwhelming the taste of the food. There's no prices on the truck, but from what I recall, tacos are about $3 flat, large coctel is about $15. They do accept card, with a $1 transaction fee. They're usually at 5704 W Pico Blvd during the daytime, but across the street from Angel City Brewery in the evenings, Thursday-Sat. Check their Instagram to find them, or give them a call! Love love this truck.

Best Taco Truck I have ever eaten from. Everything is fresh and loaded with flavor. The fish tacos were crispy, flaky good. The shrimp and octopus cocktail was fantastic. Highly recommend and will return when I'm ever in the area

First time trying out this food truck. Arts District can be quite overpriced so this is a sweet spot if you're looking for some good and affordable food. I'm a huge fan of ceviche, so of course I had to get the ceviche tostada. It wasn't the best ceviche I've ever had, but it was good, especially for the price. The customer service was great, the workers are very friendly and welcoming. I'm not sure if there hours on Yelp are correct so I would call ahead of time to make sure. Would definitely come here again!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful -- especially for an indecisive person like me -- pointing out what's popular, what they personally like, and what they recommend. I chose to go the "build your own" route and landed on: 1. Base: Chili Garlic 2. Noodles: Yakisoba 3. Protein: Fire-grilled chicken 4. Toppings: Carrots, cabbage, red peppers, sesame seeds, crunchy chili garlic The portions are solid -- I easily got two meals out of one bowl. Since I like spice, they gave me a side of their spicy sauce, which added both sweetness and heat. With all the sauce, it was definitely a bit messy, but the flavor was bold and the kick was real. The noodles and chicken were cooked well, though next time I might choose something a little less intense so I can better appreciate all the ingredients. With that much heat and garlic, some of the other flavors got lost. All in all, lunch for about $25 on Abbot Kinney is a great deal, and I'll definitely be back to try more combinations!

Cousins Francisco Aguilar and Alexis Chacon relocated from Oaxaca to open this mobile mariscos operation. But Simon's seafood-forward menu is innovative and sophisticated, seemingly more at home in a sit-downery than a mobile food cart. Unsurprisingly, Simon has been lauded by news outlets and food critics abound. I've been dying to try Simon, but the limited and often unpredictable hours have kept me from it for months. My partner and I visited for a late weekend lunch and ordered immediately. We opted for 2 tacos (the Soft Shelled Crab and the Baja-style Fish) and a Large Aguachile Negro, and our made-to-order meal was prepared within a few minutes. Between the tacos, the crab was a clear winner. The crispy, whole crab was well-complemented by the fresh pineapple salsa and the rich chipotle crema. In stark contrast, the Baja-style fried fish was one-dimensional in flavor and ran on the soggy side, owing to the watery pickled cabbage slaw. But not even the crab taco could compete with the stellar aguachile. We couldn't get enough of the marinade's rich blend of acidity and smokiness, which overshadowed even the generous helping of fresh shrimp. Simon's complimentary salsa lineup also exceeded expectations. We most enjoyed the earthy salsa macha and the smooth, creamy salsa verde, but the tangy salsa Simon -- the truck's take on taco sauce -- was no slouch, either. Our bill totaled just over $30, and the meal felt reasonably priced and appropriately filling. While the tacos didn't knock my socks off, the aguachile certainly did -- I can't wait to return to try some of Simon's other varieties.
