Yummy bowl! Fajita Steak, grilled bell peppers and onions, cilantro lime rice! Food was great! Family owned, super nice!

This is a hidden gem! Delicious! Flavorful, fresh, totally check it out! This is family owned, and they're so personable. You never see this anymore!

Absolutely love the food and service here. The entire staff is amazing and friendly, which is always a plus for any restaurant. I ordered the steak quesadillas, which were delicious and 10/10 would order again. The fajita and Al Pastor meats were super flavorful and tender. Would recommend this place to anyone!

This is hands down one of the best  Authentic Mexican spots in Rowlett.  The food tasted very fresh and homemade like how Authentic Mexican food should be. The hot sauce tasted fresh and homemade but I like it more spicey and the sever suggested Molcajeta salsa. WOW it hit the spot and enhanced the flavor of my Verde Green Enchilada.  The chicken was tender and flavorful. Christian the server was very friendly and helpful.  Will definitely come again to try the Sophia Bowl.

Leaving church the family must have breakfast together and more often than not we break bread eating out. We had tried this restaurant before and the memory was not a good one so we decided to give it another shot. The restaurant is located in a strip mall so parking is not an issue. We walked in and like the first time the restaurant had no customers. The server was nice yet really didn't provide customer service especially since we were the only ones in the establishment. We were given chips and salsa which had an authentic flavor. They refilled the chips and salsa which was nice of our server. Our server also gave us taste of chile con queso which was Tex-Mex style which is not authentic. Our orders were simple, enfrijoladas with eggs, chilaquiles, fajitas and plain quesadillas for Cashew. After placing the order we waited, waited and yes waited same as our first visit. That made no sense for being the only ones in the restaurant. The food was plain and not much of an authentic taste. The portions were small and for $68 for breakfast, along with a tax for using a credit card, this location will not be at the top of our 20 restaurants in North Dallas area.

Nice little hole in the wall place. Staff is friendly and food is decent. My only gripe about this place is they don't have the standard hot red and medium green taco sauce.... The sauce both are red and green salsa like you eat with chips....

Authentic Mexican Food: if that is what you are looking for than you have come to the right place. You're probably wondering why I gave them 4 stars and not 5 huh? Well it really boils down to preference. Being Mexican I am used to certain dishes being made certain ways. If they are made different it kind of throws you off. This could be due to the region of Mexico the owner/chef comes from or just how their parents made it. Either way, that is why I gave them 4 stars, the customer service was a bit dry but that isn't too much to complain about, overall I think for stars is really good just not perfect. I'll definitely be going back!

A reminder that this restaurant is located in a strip mall and parking might be an issue due to the number of establishments. When you enter, you wait to be seated. The dinning area has a dark look to it with music playing in the background. There is a bar area if you want to go have an adult beverage. Our server brought the menu and water (our server not very customer oriented or timely). The complimentary chips and salsa were good and salsa didn't taste old. Mother of cashew ordered the appetizer taquitos and a tostada de ceviche. I asked for a taste of the mole and it was chocolate base so I ordered the enmoladas with double beans. As you can see, the taquitos were big and filled with meat. The tostada was loaded. The mole had a special sweet bite but not all powering. The refried beans were solid and good combo with the mole. We had ordered a margarita yet it never came so we canceled it as we were finishing our meal. The meal was good and flavorful, good portion size and the price $36.85 was very reasonable. If the service was better, it would have been a great experience.

There are better options in the area. Don't waste your time here

The attention to detail is incredible. We started with the queso blanco, which is served in a volcanic stone bowl that keeps it perfectly warm and creamy far longer than a traditional bowl. It was absolutely delicious, and the portion was enormous. Honestly, six people could easily share it and still have plenty before the main course arrived. For our entrée, we ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was well-marinated, the presentation was beautiful, and both the rice and beans were excellent. Now for the few things keeping this from being a five-star experience. First, the tortillas. They tasted like packaged grocery store tortillas...think Mission brand. For me, freshly made tortillas are almost non-negotiable at a Mexican restaurant. When everything else is this thoughtfully prepared, packaged tortillas feel completely out of place. Second--and this is a hill I'm willing to die on--I ordered a Diet Coke and was told they only serve Coke Zero. I'm sorry, but those are not the same thing. Every Diet Coke fan understands this. Finally, the noise level was overwhelming. There was a soccer game on the TVs with the audio blasting throughout the restaurant. It was so loud that carrying on a conversation was difficult, and even hearing our waitress required her to lean in right next to us. This isn't a sports bar; it's a beautifully themed restaurant that happens to have a bar. The game didn't need to dominate the atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant is stunning, the food is very good, and the attention to detail is exceptional. If they started making fresh tortillas, offered Diet Coke as an option, and turned off the TV audio, this would be an easy 5+ star experience for me.
