Could I tell you that I love this place any more? I come to Rockwall from McKinney once every three months to see my doctor in Heath. My cousin who lives in Forney meets me after for dinner. This time we are both doing carnivore and didn't want all the beans and rice. We asked for just Fajita meat with onions and not only did they deliver with excellent food, but didn't charge us for the whole combo platter of beans, rice, tortillas, sour cream and quac. We just ate the meat and were happily satisfied. Of course we probably could have enjoyed a little sour cream and quac, but they were so generous not to charge us for a full meal we didn't want to push it. Service was great, food great. Nice little hole in the wall place. Fast service. Friendly staff. My wife had the poblano chicken enchiladas which were delicious. The rice and beans were par. I had the quesabirrias and loved every bite. The borracho / charro beans were very flavorful. I think we've found a new go to Tex-Mex place. Yum! read more

I can't really give this place any more than 3 stars. Facility is nice though. There is seating just inside. INSIDE - 4 The inside of the restaurant is very clean and everyone was friendly. Nobody was over the top friendly. It was crowded and seemed to be the hot spot in town. Our opinion was a little different OUTSIDE - NA They have no outdoor seating. SERVICE - 2 Friendly, efficient. We waited a bit of time once our entire party showed up. It didn't seem that the waitress was on the ball. She seemed a little distracted. FOOD - 2 I don't like chili on my enchiladas. I love enchiladas and made the order. I also had the Chili Relleno. My gosh it was bland and not flavorful at all. My wife had Tacos Pastor. Not the way we have had in many other places. I really don't know what the problem was with the food but it seemed to be off. I don't know if it is a recurring thing but tonight was not the night. We've tried so many times to order from this place and every time it's just a huge miss. Tonight our meal was supposed to be mild salsa and it was so extremely hot. It made the children cry. I figure they probably do that on purpose, just as a personal laugh, also asked for queso over my chili relleno and it was some kind of weird sour cream sauce. They just make no effort to get the orders correct. I think about three or four years ago they were OK but as of now there is no effort whatsoever. read more

The Rockwall location is the best location if your looking for great food with a great manager that checks in with his clients. The waitress are amazing, the cooks make their food with love. I recommend the Top Shelf Enchiladas, the Shrimp enchiladas, the Brisket enchiladas with the sauce that comes on the flautas desabridas, not to forget the flauta desabridas themselves super delicious, the caldo de res as well. Also of the chips and salsa and if you like adult beverages they make them strong here so as for the casamigos in your ranch water and you'll feel great after just one. read more

Rare disappointment at my go-to Mexican restaurant, Arboleda's in Rockwall. My friends (who was there for the first time) ordered the combo fajitas (beef, chicken and shrimp). The fajitas were delivered to the table with no 'sizzle', no caramelization on the veggies, which left them too firm. The meat had no flavor. My friend had specifically ordered corn tortillas, but received flour. She ordered a watermelon margarita, but our receipt said raspberry. Our water glasses were not refilled even once. When we asked for the check, the waitress asked how everything was. We told her how disapponted we were and she didn't offer to make it right in anyway. She could have comped the fajtas (I should have insisted). At the very least, she could have sent us home with chips and salsa or a coupon for the next visit. That might have helped to ensure there will be a next visit. read more

We have been coming to this place for about a year now and always loved it. Tonight we ordered a large amount of food to-go. Unfortunately when I took my first bite of a cheese enchilada and I bit into this 4 inch long screw :( I couldn't believe it was happening. We instantly went back to the restaurant with our entire order mostly untouched with the screw and everything. The manager apparently wasn't present, and the woman who I spoke with let me know that a refund cannot be issued because I ordered through a 3rd party online ordering service. I don't know why it took so long for me to come here. But I will soon be back! Tex mex can be great. But as a happy to live in Rockwall transplant from San Diego (don't hold it against me ...I get my hometown is filled with transplants too!) My boss and I stopped here for a quick bite after work. BAD IDEA. We both ordered the daily special of enchiladas and I ordered a steak taco on the side. The sour cream chicken enchiladas, beans and rice were completely bland. The salsa and chips were an utter let down. The chips were oily and the salsa was warm. Quite similar to the Ridge Road location in terms of menu, though it is usually less crowded and is even more informal. Chile Relleno has too many extraneous veggies in the sauce. For some reason I keep forgetting this. I dont like it, but i know some folks do. Tamales & enchiladas & fajitas are top-notch. If you aren't sure what to get, or are ordering for an out-of-towner, go for the parilladas Mexicanos. Stellar & a little unusual, with both sausage & nopales. At-the-table guac is perfect. Warm salsa excellent. Cascabel sauce spicy (be warned) but good. Desserts better than most tex-mex places. Be warned - they put cheesecake in their flan. Cute little restaurant, following COVID protocols and serving bangin watermelon margaritas. Accidentally got a little tipsy off just one at lunch, but that's not a complaint. Very reasonably priced food and the two dishes we got were great. I got the two tamale plate, tamales would've been great on their own but the chili sauce on top was a nice little Texas twist. Husband got the 3 enchilada plate with eggs on top - he said it was amazing, I only got to try the tomatillo sauce but can confirm it was full of flavor and the eggs were slightly (perfectly) gooey. Service was SUPER fast, there was only one other family in there so that may be to thank, but I'll take it. Overall, good food, fair prices, great service. There were very few tables seated yet after we were seated we were never again acknowledged- no water, no "hi, I'll be right with you" nothing! After 20 minutes of being completely ignored, we left. The most ridiculous part of our experience is, on our way out, they, including the manager, thanked us and when told them we were never even greeted they just said "oh, ok"Horrible! For Father's day my pops in law decided to come here instead of his nearby El Chicos and I was pleasantly surprised! I went for the fried fish tacos, tons of fried fish in a thick batter (like fish & chips) I do wish it was not so thick but it was well seasoned, also big slices of avocado, cabbage, "secret sauce" and a tiny tortilla. The charro beans are the best I've had anywhere and the rice with the small side salad I at it all up! They had $5 mimosas for the holiday so I had one! The cajeta (caramel) churros were sold out but we tried strawberry and cream cheese, I didn't grow up with churros so they aren't my thing- but they were hot, crispy and thick so it seemed like a fresh version of what they should be lol. The true judge of a decent Mexican food restaurant is the cheap chairs and chips and salsa. Cheap chairs? Check. Banging awesome chips and salsa? Check. All the other food is on point, and our waitress was able to accurately remember my mother n law and wife's crazy complicated (as expected) orders without writing them down. This is my second attempt, take out with local establishment. For the life of me I can't remember why I have not attempted it since my first try over the summer. Now I know why. I thought it would be a quick and easy pick-up after getting out of the Planet Fitness there Rockwall. I had ordered the Guacamole salad, it said tableside but did not think that would be literal. For entrees the tamales (tres) and the #2 Flautas and added the Poblano sauce for $1.00. I arrived about 5 minutes early and waited inside for my order. Started gazing at my phone and had the occasion to look and watch the waitress or expeditor moving boxes around and then a plate with 4 avocado halves came out, wrapped in cellophane. She started to put it in the bag and I interject because I was close and asked, "do I have to make the guacamole myself", she replied kindly and with an eye roll, "No, she was going to make it". I thought it was kind of unique, but was not expecting that. Since I did order a tableside guacamole again I did not think it would be literal. She began to unwrap the cellophane and immediately dropped one of the avocado halves on the floor. She was thoughtful and put it to the side in what was a throw-away staging area. She continued to make the guac without ever replacing the other half. I commented when I went to pick up my order and asked if I get a discount because she did not replace the 1/2 of avocado because she dropped it. She looked at me straight in the eye and told me "I did not drop it". I was somewhat joking, but to tell me a bold-face lie. What is up with these kids today? I explained that the other half was still in the staging area and that it was in plain view. She conceded and said, "Oh yeah". Needless to say, I did not get angry or absurd, but told her that lying to a customer was a way to lose one. And I believe they have going forward, The rest of the order was pretty plain, not a lot of flavor that I would expect. As mentioned previously, I ordered the flautas with the poblano sauce for an extra $1.00, not a big deal but there was no poblano sauce as either a side or on the flautas. Still El Fenix makes a better flauta, how hard can it be. The tamales were kind of mushy, the masa was not well made and the chile relleno was cold. I had only a mile to get to the house. As mentioned, I could not remember why I had not been back since the summer. I believe in supporting local establishments during these pandemic times, but this place can close its doors and probably would not be missed. There are other places in the area that will get my business in the future and would recommend that you do the same as well. read more

At Arboledas, you get a warm salsa and a cold salsa. I still can't decide which one I like more. I always order the brisket tacos with the cascabel sauce. They have such a great flavoring. The pollo de Chipotle is another excellent dish that I love. The restaurant is located in a strip mall but I love that kind of stuff. The pricing is very good as well. read more

Decided to try it out since we were in Rockwall. So good! I had the cheese enchiladas and crispy taco. If you love cheese like I do, you'll love these enchiladas! I had a great big bite of melted cheddar ! Yum! The taco was also really tasty. Sorry no pictures! I ate everything before remembering to take a picture. Everyone of the employees wore masks when we went to pick up our food. This was awesome. Our service lady was super helpful and very friendly when picking out the menu items and then picking out jalapeño or pico and then asking many questions about dishes. We are super picky and anyone would get annoyed but she held her own and continued to smile ( under the mask) and was totally awesome! We would drive the 35 minutes back to rockwall just to eat here! First time eating here. I will definitely come back. My dining companions didn't think it was 4 stars...more like 2-3, but one of them doesn't like Mexican food and the other one prefers chain restaurants. So I take their feedback with a grain of salt. Ambiance: this is a very casual place. Great for lunch or a very casual dinner. You don't have to worry about dressing up. They have a separate VIP rental room so they can accommodate big groups. The place isn't brand new, but it's clean. Menu: the menu had a good variety and most things were around $10 or less. They have a lunch menu as well. All day Wednesday's they have enchilada specials for $5.99. Service: our waiter was nice and brought everything we requested. A few other staff members kept an eye on us too for refills, chips, etc. all were very friendly. Food: I thought the food was great. They have two kinds of salsas with the chips. One was a chipotle flavor and the other was a traditional served warm. The enchiladas poblano should have had some more poblano in them, but they were still very tasty. The enchilada tacos were great - the steak had good flavor and they were served with peppers and onions like regular fajitas. The refried beans weren't the best I've ever had, but the charro beans - more like a bean soup - were delicious. read more
