Arbor Age's guys needed almost two days to take down a 30-year-old ficus tree that had roots running the full length of the property, as well as under some concrete slabs. (Watching them take an axe to the roots reminded me of a science fiction novel.) But they got them out (as well as the tree). They also took some other useless bushes down and an apple tree that attracted small rodents. The guys were on time, polite, worked hard, and left the place looking neat and clean. We had Chris's very professional team come in and remove a large pine tree in Nov 2015. This tree was at least 20 feet above our second story roof line. This was a tricky removal since it was tight against our fence on one side and agaist our sidewalk on the other. It had limbs going over our roof and our neigbors roof. They carefully trimmed the tree down to the ground lowering large limbs by rope to the ground. Ground down the stump to remove it. Shedded all the limbs and dump the compost it made in our driveway as requested. This has made great weed barrier. Arbor Age had the equipment and experience staff to complete the project. His people were friendly and respected our property and home. He was one of the few listed online that had a current contractors license. Always go to http://cslb.ca.gov and verify any contractors license before getting a quote. Bottom line I will call Arbor Age again when we need tree trimming services again. read more

After purchasing home recently, I have been doing maintenance and upgrades to pool, windows, back yard sprinklers and vegetation. I inherited an old Olive tree that didn't do well during the summer. As a result, most of the tree looks dead. These guys came over and removed the dead and trimmed it up nicely. Very efficient and priced right...experience is important as i wanted to save tree and they knew exactly what to do with the poor old tree. Great customer service and excellent work ethic. I contacted Arbor Age in August 2014. We had a TALL Mexican fan palm in serious need of a trim/potential removal, an overgrown mature Valencia orange and a couple of sickly citrus ripe for removal. The very next day Chris was here to assess our situation and wrote out an estimate that covered a couple of different options. My husband and I discussed them, chose the one that worked best for us and set a date for the work to be done. We even got a hand written thank-you note for getting the bid! Very Satisfied! Chris fully explained what was required for my trees and advised me of the preferred procedures for pruning. He pointed out damage to neighbor's trees due to tree climbers using spikes. The crew arrived 20 minutes early and worked very efficient. I was amazed how clean the lawn was after the pruning. Called for an estimate, gave my address and changed my schedule to work from home so I could be there for the estimate. Got a call the day of the estimate saying they would arrive early, then got a call 5 min later saying they "can't work that far south." Our house is 1/2 mile south of the 56 and they decided they can't work that far south. Wish they would have told us that on day one when they had our address, so we didn't have to lose all this time and deal with the frustration of changing work schedules. Arbor Age Tree Service did a great job on our trees for Laurence Curtis and myself. First of all the contract explicitly explained what we wanted done. They showed up promptly at the time they said they would come. On our Amber tree they did a fine job with crown reduction, heading back sides especially the side over our roof, lacing it out and removing any dead wood. The also cleaned the roof of any tree debris. The also did the same with our Ornamental Pear which also had Wisteria Vines reaching through it that they carefully removed, without injuring our Wisteria. They trimmed our 2 Pittosporums that were tangling into the Ornamental Pear and finally did a crown reduction on our too tall Podocarpus. They did all this in a way to still preserve our privacy from the neighbors. They also did a very fine job of cleaning up the debris in the yard and hauling it off. What I liked was the fact that they used a rope to climb the trees with NO spikes. No trees were injured in the process. The men who performed the service were polite. read more

I needed a tree removed in my front yard and did a little price comparison and research to find someone local to perform the work. I called Christopher and that was the last call I made. He came out to my home and after introductions; he presented me with a copy of his License and Liability Insurance to comfort the homeowner of any issues that may arise. Christopher did a quick evaluation (knew the species of the tree) and provided a quick quote which was very competitive with the others that I bid out and in fact, offered me a 1st time customer discount which actually made his company the lowest bid received. After looking through all of the positive remarks on Yelp, I decided to go ahead with the work. The night before the crew was to come, Christopher called to confirm and had the courteously to reminded me that I may want to move my vehicle since the job would take roughly 3 hours. He said the crew would arrive around 7:30-7:45 am. The following morning, the crew showed up at 7:40am and started the work right before 8:00am. We have narrow streets in our neighborhood and they even moved their vehicles around to better suit traffic flow. This was a 25' Tristania tree that was a 10' stump in about 30 minutes (not their first rodeo - everything landed right where they wanted it). The crew kept the work area clean and organized and even kept the neighbors yard clean during the process. The crew surveyed the area where the trunk would fall and protected potential hazards like irrigation boxes and sewer access just in case. Within another hour everything was down and ran through the chipper while someone was working the stump grinder. After everything was complete, the yards were raked and some of the guys were picking up leaves by hand.
