I have to deduct a point as we incurred unexpected charges for "early office hours" on both girl's accounts. Kind of annoying seeing as they open as normal office hours and the Saturday appointments aren't advertised as anything different.

Somebody should probably educate him on how to speak to a new mother that is actually doing a fantastic job transitioning into motherhood and really loves and cares for her baby. Postpartum is already hard enough as it is and she doesn't need a rude doctor to make her feel like she is an awful mom. Neither of us will ever come back to this location. Do better.

Overall, the appointment itself went very well, and we really appreciated the care she provided. The only frustrating part was that my daughter's prescription was never sent to the pharmacy. We checked with the front desk during the same visit that everything was correct with the pharmacy. We drove to the pharmacy twice but the prescription was still never sent. Now the office is closed, and the answer machine is saying it will cost $20 just to speak with the after-hours nurse about getting the medication our daughter needs. That was a very disappointing end to an otherwise great visit.

However, our experience with this practice has been unacceptable and deeply concerning. We were dismissed from the office for allegedly having five "no-shows," without any prior warning, communication, or outreach whatsoever, outside of a threatening letter once it got to 5 no shows. At no point were we notified that missed appointments were accumulating, that we were at risk of dismissal, or that this was even an issue until this letter. We did not receive reminder calls, texts, or follow-up communications nor did we receive texts for appointments like they state. In all of our appointments, we probably received 3 confirmations... Additionally, their own policy states that patients will be contacted after two missed appointments -- this never occurred. We can only recall two unintentional missed appointments, during a period when our infant daughter was suffering from severe colic. Rather than showing basic understanding or attempting to communicate, this practice demonstrated a complete lack of empathy toward families with newborns. Mine you, one of the appointments they told me we no showed was the first appointment 2 days after she was born and we were still unexpectedly in the hospital as she had jaudice.... thought there would be way more compassion. Instead of reaching out to resolve the issue, we received a threatening dismissal letter without any prior discussion. This approach is alarming for a pediatric practice. The way this situation was handled felt transactional and punitive, more in line with a retail operation than a medical office entrusted with the care of babies and children. The failure to communicate, disregard for their own policies, and lack of compassion for struggling parents is unacceptable. Pediatric care should prioritize partnership, transparency, and empathy -- none of which were demonstrated here. Parents deserve to know that this practice may choose enforcement over communication, even when caring for vulnerable infants.

A little disappointing since we liked them and got comfortable with them and had no idea they moved or were leaving until we made our next appointment. Loved Dr Potts all around and Dr Yin was very knowledgeable but now we see Dr Allred whom my son LOVES! I have the typical toddler who cries with any healthcare personnel he sees but he is so good for Dr Allred! She is so sweet, personal, knowledgeable and always takes my concerns into consideration. My son never cries when he sees her and actually looks forward to seeing her! One star removed for the billing area. I have had a few issues with being double billed, having an extra statement that was already paid in office or insurance not getting the correct information so I would get charged for something that I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. I have had many calls with the office and communication with the front desk and insurance and it's always been cleared up but watch your statements.

Long story short, 2 year old who ended up having Rhino virus (common cold) comes into the office,…read morestarts coughing, front desk freaks out yells out to mother "is he breathing?!" like she's never seen a child cough and have a red face for a second. Anyway, they rush him back in, 3 people trying to assess him at the same time (NP, MA, random student) sends him into crying and fighting them. He has a cold, he's sick, his breathing isn't amazing, but the stimulation of scared staff members losing their cool didn't make him any better. They want to call 911, because they put him on 1 liter of oxygen. Which brought him to 100% O2 sats BTW. I drove him to the hospital instead of wasting a paramedics time. Reading in the notes, NP Taryn asks MD Holmes if she should call CPS, MD Holmes instructed her if we didn't take the child to the ED like I told her I would, then call. NP Taryn in her own note called the ER and confirmed we were there 30 minutes later, it's a 30 minute drive to the pediatric center, DUHHH. Anyways, I don't believe NP Taryn did the CPS call. I believe the medical director who called us after his discharge to ask us why we were changing pediatricians did after I told her I felt like her staff was scared to treat their patient, and needed the emergency room to do the job they couldn't. Clearly she didn't like that when she tried to throw in my face "well I went to medical school so... blah blah blah". She clearly took that up the rear end and ended up calling on her own accord because well, she's a doctor folks! So unless you want to deal with staff freaking out about basic sick kids, then providers power tripping CPS to your home because they didn't like you pointing out that their staff needs better training, then AVOID. Also they charge ridiculous fees if you miss an appointment, the girl with the red short hair at the front desk is constantly rude to people, and the 80 year old lady at the front desk who assumed the child wasn't breathing because he coughed more than 4 times in a row should probably get some better training some time! I don't thing NP Taryn did a bad job. I think that she should have attempted to treat him more than she did sure, I think she was more prepared to treat him than she actually believed but now after reading through these notes, it's clear that because I was firm on them not wasting resources, identifying that fear in them as providers treating patients and not being afraid to tell that to their boss who again, called us ONLY after hearing we were going to another pediatrician (money hungry creep who doesn't want to lose out on the 4 children I take there) that that's why CPS was actually called. My son's pediatrician is located all the way in downtown Phoenix, and I just don't have the energy to also drive my daughter all the way from where we are in the East Valley. Dr. Ijaola is proficient, punctual, and personable enough. He's been very thorough during my daughter's last 2 checkups. I also decided to finally have a wellness check for myself since the birth of my daughter was so horrific for both of us. My primary care physician also works at this office. She's one of the nurse practitioners. And she is extremely knowledgeable and thorough as well. Bonus, their office is immaculate and seriously, the fact that you can show up to your appointment on time and be seen right away with zero wait time is amazing!
