I was disturbed by my visit to the Langley Park Arby's so I resolved not to return there. This location is closest to home so I dropped in to pick up a sandwich. I was surprised there was no drive thru! Park and go inside to order? What kind of place is this---unheard of! The interior was clean, modern, and well maintained. The two cashiers were attentive and wearing masks. There was a plastic shield between customers and employees. Even a table was placed so you don't get too close to them behind the counter. The cashiers were both super friendly and helpful; it was almost as if they were being extra nice because they knew I had a poor experience at another Arby's earlier in the day. Both were competent and knew how to operate the register, understand their point-of-sale system, and know how to process a gift card with zero difficulty. My food (French dip sandwich with extra provolone cheese) was ready within seconds. Two entrances make getting in and out easy. The dining area was sufficiently spaced out for seating. Even though I'm trying to cut back on eating fast food, this is one of my favorite places. Their selection and sandwiches is a lot bigger than your average burger spot. Plus I like the fact that they always have what seems to be a really good deal. Today went for the two fish sandwiches for five bucks. It's a really good deal, you can get regular or cajun. The fish itself is pretty good size. It's not a tiny filet. Another reason I like Arby's is because I like their slogan. It's true they really do have the meat! The food is always hot and fresh, and the latest updates to the menu have been pretty good. It's not just roast beef anymore. In fact, I rarely get beef these days (save the occasional gyro). And the curly fries... well, I don't have to validate curly fries. It is its own validation. The location isn't great, especially if you're coming from the west heading east on 198. Very busy intersection right there with Route 1 crossing over. Great location for business I suppose, but bad location for nasty traffic if you're driving. Also, they don't have a drive-thru at this location. Not really a terrible thing, but keep this in mind before visiting. The venue was so dark inside you would've thought they were closed. The only reason why I continued was because there was another car parked out front so I assumed someone was inside. Fast Forward inside I was the only customer, I ordered a beef and cheddar and expected her to ask me what size fry but to my surprise she didn't. Before I could ask about the fries another employee came from the back yelling we don't have any fries. So I'm thinking in my head okay they are not going to make anymore fries, the venue didn't close until 10pm and it had just turned 9pm. So I just decided not to ask anyway the roast beef seemed old, I didn't have any fries and she didn't even ask about a drink, it was just an unpleasant experience overall. I will admit, initially the service was OKAY, not spectacular. But, this Arby's was lacking something when I walk in the door. It was missing a cashier who paid attention. First off, my wife ordered her meal of chicken fingers and a medium drink, which she had a coupon for. My wife mentioned she had a coupon, but the cashier said she had already rang the order up. The cashier could have corrected the order, but failed to do so. Secondly, my wife got her soda, but once again something was wrong. The soda was flat. The good that came out of this was one of the cashiers said she would get her a different soda (not what she wanted). After everything was rung up and completed, the cashier never gave my wife her coupon back. What threw me for a loop was the fact they weren't busy but they took forever to make the meals. It was maybe a few people in the restaurant and plenty of staff to have everything under control. Unfortunately, this was not fast food. It took at least 5 minutes to get our meal. New management has improved this store immeasurably. The food is hot and fresh, the service is much faster, and the overall experience is better. I have been coming here for nearly 30 years, since I first moved to Laurel, and it was good, then terrible. Now it's good again. The store was recently renovated (perhaps why another reviewer thought it had permanently closed), and is clean and bright. Parking can still be a problem, unless you see the large parking lot behind the building and see that they also have an entrance on that side. They don't have a drive-through window any longer, but that's not a big problem. They do close at 10 pm which might be early for some. read more

I ordered my meal and attempted to pay with a $20.00 Gift card. The card reader kept saying "reader error". The kid at the register had no idea what to do and could barely talk. Once the manager (short older Hispanic woman) came over she immediately had an attitude. She tried to tell me there was "no money on the card" (not true). I told her it says "CARD READER ERROR", not insufficient funds". She came around from the counter after telling me to swipe the card another 10 times and she had the same issue. She then returned to the register and said "give me the card!". I did, she manually entered the card number and it worked! She handed me the card back, did not say a word, bagged my 2 sandwiches without the drink, and slide the bag to the other side of the counter, still not saying a word. She turned around, started filling other orders and never acknowledged a thing. I had to ask the kid (who stared at me like a deer in headlights) for my drink cup. Seriously, how do these people get hired? Hopefully Corporate reads this because there are a ton of fast food restaurants in the area, they're not the only game in town. Customer Appreciation training is sorely needed. They need me more than I need them! They need to change their slogan from "We Have The Meats" to "We have an attitude and would love to piss you off". read more

Another place where I really enjoy the food and the customer service, but it's hard to constantly spend around $11 to $12 for my lunch breaks. The staff quickly rings your order up and gets you on your way. They seem to be very motivated every time I come here. I usually dine in when I eat here to avoid disasters in my car. They could definitely use a remodel. For instance, they could make the dining area a little bigger because it has that cramped in feeling where you can hear everyone else's convo also. The outside reminds me of 70's Las Vegas strip with the old school sign. I have recently fell into the habit of waiting until I get coupons in the mail to eat here. You can get some pretty good deals via that route. I had one yesterday for $3.99 for a Classic Roast Beef Meal. I felt as though I saved at least $5! When it gets down to the nitty gritty, this store while outdated, does produce a very good product. But the question I would ask is how much can I afford when eating out? I like Arby's. Their food is good and the restaurants are usually on point. This one is an oddity though. It's fairly clean inside but it's rather small and there is no drive-through. What I didn't like: the service was slower than usual, the two sauces I tried to get from the self-serve dispensers were both out, and there is no self-serve soda machine. I saw commercials for Arby's new chicken pecan salad sandwich I agree with another person's review about the bread being heavy but the main problem is there is so much bread and so little chicken salad with so little chicken in it I threw away one of the pieces of bread and ended up having a half a sandwich I asked for sweet potato fries for a change they were cold overdone and there were very few of them so I had to heat them up which made them more crispier it was the worst meal ever and it starts at 9:09 so with tax it was over $10 the other day I ate at Mel's diner, had myself a burger and onion rings that were to die for very felling along with an Oreo cookie shake so good this was a disappointment because I'm not even sitting down to eat I'm taking it to go for 10 bucks and out of that I get overdone cold sweet potato fries and a pretty crappy full of mayo very little meat very little anything but bread sandwich. This place looks like it was nice a long time ago, with well thought out decorations, but clearly it's gone downhill since then. Seats are worn, the walls look aged, and the place felt just desolate. The bathroom is down a long hallway with windows on one side of it, and that segment felt like an airport, weirdly enough. This Arby's is horrible! The chick behind the counter (Lilliana) was so wrapped up in her phone reading text messages and answering calls, I had to repeat myself 3 times for each item I wanted. I ordered a Jamocha shake and the person didn't even mix it very well. I ordered an apple turn over and as soon as I got to the truck I took a bite and it was so stale and the icing was hard as a rock. I ordered potatoe cakes instead of the other stuff. They are "cooked to order." I get home and it's not cooked in the center...isn't it timed cooked? I go to eat my beef and cheddar sandwich...the bread was stale, the meet cold and the cheese tastes like it was cold and burnt. You call the number on the bottom of the receipt and it's the same damn person that was behind the cash register saying they gave us good food. Also while standing there waiting for my food, 2 other customers came back in to get their fries that everyone behind the counter forgot. I live really close to this place so there's no way that my food should have been that cold/bad. Hell I walked right outside and it was crap. The last time I visited an Arby's was about 15 years ago when Alex Trebek was promoting 5 Beef 'n Cheddar sandwiches for 5 dollars. As I recalled, it was a mediocre chain offering mediocre food, so I admit that my expectations were low when I visited it this evening. But dang, I was very happy with my food. I ordered a large beef n' cheddar, a reuben, and the pickles-&-swiss Hawaiian roll sandwich. Each was big and very tasty. The Reuben was restaurant-quality. He asked me how was my day and even carried a small conversation with me after taking my order.
