Beef and cheddar with bacon burger meal with Mozzarella sticks
    Ashley B.

DRIVE IN REVIEW: So this is short ans to the point... service was good. The drive through is limited view of the servers but from what I could see.... gloves were used. Now as for the food..... motz sticks.... sorry, but sonics is better. If you are that, "i like to see a stretch in my cheese" these are not it. Now as for the burger... it never disappoints. I have the beef and cheddar burger with bacon... I haveng had bacon in AGES so it was super salty to my taste buds but it felt sooooo good to break the rule for a quick second .... probably won't do it again for another few years lol. Overall.... the food was on the luke side which is why it is on the plate in my photo... had to zap it. Anyways... it's fast food. Can't expect too much I guess. This is more like a "I feel like being trash with my food cravings and don't mind eating like Big Meech today". If you arent looking for quick fix fast food quality... better find somewhere else because this that heat and serve type food lol. I mean yall know this isn't a carefully constructed meal lol. It's fast food lmbo.

Beautiful marquis sign. Like a beacon of hope...

This location is super unique! The store is bigger and has more bells and whistles. They also rock the old school cowboy hat marquis sign outside! This visit was particularly noteworthy because I found out they had the smokehouse sandwiches which had been discontinued after I discovered their amazingness! If it's available, I highly recommend the pork belly smokehouse sandwich! This location is great, consistent, and offers some old-school Arby's aesthetics!

Rotisserie chicken with broccoli and corn

This isn't just another Arby's; it's like a hometown cafe! I spent 5 weeks working in Richmond during the summer of 2011 and ate here many times after discovering their unique menu. Fast forward to today when I had the chance to pass through town during a beach road trip and stop for a reminder of how delicious their food is. It did not disappoint! First thing you'll notice walking in is how busy their dining area is -- even the locals know how special this place is! There are no menu boards behind the registers; pick up the card stock menus while you wait in line (which moves quite quickly!) What makes this and other Richmond Arby's stand out is the menu selection. Unlike regular Arby's in the franchise, you have the option of turkey sandwiches, rotisserie chicken and fresh vegetable sides in addition to the roast beef sandwiches (grass-fed) and curly fries. True to old habit, I ordered a plate of 1/2 dark rotisserie chicken which came with 2 legs and 2 thighs and a side of broccoli and a side of corn. The cashier who took my order was a sweet grandma-like lady who called me sweetie and made me feel like I made a great decision in my food choice. Every chicken plate come with the best zucchini bread muffin you've ever had, yum! Too bad these menu items aren't standard in all Arby's across the board.

Arby's finally changed their menu! In fact the big menu board up high over the back of the counter is gone. It always took forever to find what you wanted and you couldn't see one end from the other end of the counter. There are now small menus in front of each register. Went in the other day after about a year - they were just way too expensive for the quick lunch away from work. They're still a little high in price. The quality of food is always good but I just can't justify the price for what I'm getting. For just about the same price, you can hit an Applebees or O'Charley's - unless you just gotta have roast beef!

The Half Way House is settled in a dark basement lit by candles giving a romantic atmosphere. Once…read moreit gets full it can feel a bit cramped, but this is probably due to my height and the low ceilings. The house is rich in history making it quite a special place for my husband and I to celebrate a momentous occasion. A drawback was how uncomfortable the seats were. My husband and I are like Vikings, very tall and stocky, so the seats felt too small. The average person will probably have no problem with them. My hubs ordered the seafood platter and was delighted in how delicious it was. I ordered the Black and Bleu Beef Tips with the filet and requested it be cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, it was mostly overcooked and tough. I expected the mushroom sauce to be more substantial and the bleu cheese to be enough to be tasted. I was very disappointed at what was a sprinkling of mushrooms on top and no distinct bleu cheese flavor at all. The twice baked potato was yummy, but I could not eat the asparagus as I found it bitter and undercooked. It made me regret paying the price it cost as I could not even enjoy half the portion. Service was good and yet not. We were served by three different people, including the manager who seemed to give most of her attention to one particular table. When she removed our plates without offering dessert, coffee, or tea it felt we were being hurried along. One older gentleman was very attentive. He made sure we were taken care of and satisfied. I wish I knew his name as I would love to give him all the stars. He was superb and comped us dessert in honor of our special occasion. We chose the tiramisu, and it was very tasty, perfect crispy top with the creamy underside. I do recommend this restaurant as an experience one should seek to enjoy. I believe you will love the historicity of the location, and the service will be a fine dining event. Your food may be hit or miss, depending on what you order, but I think the location itself is worth the risk.
