If the numerous bad reviews didn't put you off from this place like me then i guess we deserve this bad experience. I was about 5 mins late from the appointment, decided to call to let them know. The office manager answered and put me on a 10 min hold just so i can tell them I'm 5 mins late. Weird but ok. Arrive at the dental place, fill out forms and she insists that i put in my address to which i declined because they have no reason to have it. All they are going to do is spam me with junk mail. Then she demanded my driver license because i didn't want to fill out the address. When i asked her if i can talk to the boss, she responded with "well I'm the office manager" so there really no way of actually file a complaint. Basically, businesses like these just want take your money without actually providing good service. Why do people bend over backwards to these office workers? Cause we let them get away with it by giving them our money. Since when is it madatory to fill out your address? read more

Picture #1. -I had a very small chip on this left side upper tooth of this picture. Dr Moreno took care of me. Took about 40 mins. I was very scared and worried, but he was kind and understanding his assistant Robert was so nice also. Look at picture number 2 my tooth was fixed- but now I felt my other tooth right side was slightly crooked. I begged to have him fix that one too. He took the time to do the right tooth with not even telling me to make another appointment. He did it right there. I'm so pleased with Dr Moreno and all the staff members. Been coming here since 2010 and never have I experienced any issues. No extra wait time, no insurance issues, no extra billing. If you are clear with them, they are clear with. Call ahead and verify insurance then book your appointment. Come 10 mins prior for check in and you'll be in and out. I'm never there more than an hour for xrays and a cleaning. I've had 4 wisdom teeth pulled by Dr.Koo and I felt no pain or discomfort, I didn't even swell up. Best dentist and team in town! I recommend all family and friends and not one has had anything but a great experience. read more

Just recently started going here after having a very bad experience at my last dental office, I have gone here twice already and I really love this office. I had 2 root canals done and didn't feel a thing. Dr was very polite and explained everything. Front office staff also very kind and helpful, I was helped by Annabell, who was very patient and explained everything regarding my insurance situation. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The staff as well as Dr. Koo are the most inept and down right dumb people I have ever encountered. Not only are they unable to make simple appointments but they also try to sell you unnecessary procedures. If I had gone ahead with their recommendations, my mouth would have been a disaster. If you make an appointment with them make sure you Triple check before arriving because they do not know how to make appointments. Oh my god, i don't normally write a negative review to warm people but I think it's our responsibility to let people know how professional industries making money. I had same problem with my implant that I had done with Dr. Koo. I did mine on 3 years ago and now it completely lost it and in pain. I can't afford to pay another implant Please advise what should I do, I can't eat it with my food and in very bad depression. At least, provide us where we can find him and get it fix and ask his responsibilities . He can't just run it away and putting some life crazy he drill a hall in gum and it's really in pain. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel I should write about this establishment to warn people so that it will not happen to another person like what happen to me. I had been a long time customer of this place and I had all my family have general dental service here. I trusted this place to be professional and would honor their work. But I was very wrong, they not only had infections on my implant tooth, I was hurt so badly and the implant got loosened and was about to fall off. I came back and trusted that they would fix it, but they refused to put a REPLACEMENT implant in for me unless I pay them another $1300. Why do I have to pay them to fix their mistake. I had already paid in full the premium price for the implant, it failed, they should fix it, NO CHARGES, simple, right!! But, their excuse is that the implant was done by Dr Koo, who is no longer there, and this is a new dentist and new business. They told me that it was Dr Koo's professional responsibility for his work, OK, so I asked can you tell me where Dr Koo is so I can find him to fix it, they would not tell me. I am also a business person, simple that when you take over a business or even when you change employee or new owner , if you take over customers of another business you have to service their established customers , the good and also the bad, they don't tell all the old customers of Dr Koo to go find Dr Koo for service, why do they tell me to look for Dr Koo when they refuse to fix the failed implant of Dr Koo. I am writing to warn all the people come here for major dental service that may take more than one year, that they may change their dentists any time, and that if you have your teeth done by a dentist that had left like mine then they will not honor the work... For me I would not come back to this place, this business does not know how to look after long time loyal customers , they only care about bottom line and for a few bucks they would lose customers and create very unhappy customers like me. I have been going to the Arcadia Dental Group or Dr. David Kelly's Office as it always says on my receipts for the past 3 years. Like other have said I really like Dr. Koo he did a Root Canal and Crown for me and he just did a great job. He's really great at explaining to you what he is going to do. I also have seen a Dr. Wen or Wren or Ren (I can't remember her name right now) but she's great too. Quick, professional and friendly. I do agree with another Yelper in that at time the wait in the waiting room can be long. There have been time when I went right in after waiting for 10 minutes and then there have been times when I felt like I was sitting in the waiting room for 1/2 an hour... I guess it just depends on how busy they are but I feel like it's almost better to have to wait in line for good care then go into an dentist's office that is empty... Completely awful service -- I had an appointment for 2 PM and waited more than an hour, only to be informed that someone had made a mistake in my appointment and I couldn't be seen. I was OVERCHARGED last time, as the receptionist told me I needed to purchase their specific dental insurance despite that I told them I was covered under the EXACT SAME dental insurance. I had to call the insurance company and received a refund, but the receptionist/whoever is at the front desk is completely incompetent and insisted that I had to pay to be seen. I was also told I needed a specific procedure, but when I checked with my other dentist (who extracted my wisdom teeth) and my orthodontist, both denied that I needed this procedure. So it seemed like a complete SCAM. Would never recommend to anyone. read more

Nice people, clean, quick service. However, several bad experiences with the dental work. I had one cavity and went in for a filling, immediately after my tooth was more sensitive and stayed sensitive for months. Went back to get it checked, the dentist shaved my tooth down to fix the issue. It got worse now I have bad tooth sensitivity. They are also very rough with the cleaning, I ended up with small cuts on my gums. read more

Made an appointment a month ago, called me a day before to confirm my insurance is still active, told her I just spoke to my insurance 10 minutes before she called, she said she'll check before the end of the day with my insurance, never heard back from her, next day came in and sure enough they said my insurance isn't active and they needed to reschedule, asked them if I can call my insurance to confirm, she said yes, called them and straighten everything out in less than 10 minutes, horrible customer service, talked to the office manager and she defended the employee and her office policy of not calling insurance companies for their patients, wow, just wow. read more

This place has Terrible office system and I had a very disappointing experience here. I make an appointment early July but no availability until 6 weeks later. I waited 6 weeks and took half day off work for this appointment . When I showed up , I was told my appointment was canceled and I have to reschedule for 6 more weeks later. Staffs shows no remorse and didn't apologize. Maybe it's a normal thing for them. But have to wait three months for an simple dentist appointment?!?! I arrived early because I am a new patient and anticipated having to complete a form. After turning in my form, I was admitted 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The X-ray technician was nice and courteous, but the X-ray room felt like a walk-in closet with the door left open to one of the main hallways. The dental assistant was kind but seemed awkward putting my blood pressure cuff on. It took 2 tries to take my blood pressure. Dr Wong's bedside manner is very good, and I felt her examination and cleaning techniques were excellent. She didn't ask me if I had any questions or concerns, though. I was interested in a cosmetic procedure and volunteered my question to which she did provide an estimate. I was then allowed to leave after no cavities were found but was not asked to make a followup appointment. No one at the front desk said anything as I walked out the front door. I was expecting a high touch experience as a new patient, and was a bit let down. I suggest the office look at creating a more hospitable experience for patients which is why I gave only a 4-star rating. I hope the office reaches out to me so I can make suggestions for some improvements. read more

I see a lot of great reviews and sadly I am not able to say the same. I get off work and I get a phone call from my mother and this is what she told me: First off, was not greeted at all or felt welcomed when my mother and my grandmother (with a walker) steps into the office. I get it, they were 10 minutes early, they just wanted to be on time and the door was open. My grandmother, almost 90 years old needed one tooth taken out, recommended from Methodist Hospital when she was admitted there recently. Again, I get it, every doctor has their own recommendations and opinions. My mother was told that an extra tooth be taken out for my grandmother and possibly implant a fake tooth of some sort. I admit, my mother is not the most fluent in English and what she may of been told may not have been fully understood, but my mom FELT she was treated differently after agreeing NOT to take out the extra tooth (that she would have to pay out of pocket because it would not be covered under medi-cal). She FELT like it would be more pain for my grandmother who already went through a lot recently. And if it was truly NEEDED then she would want to first discuss with my father (my grandmothers son) and of course bring my grandmother back. BUT because she did not agree with Dr. Koo, my mother felt Dr. Koo's attitude changed. Maybe Dr. Koo was just having a bad day or frustrated that my mother did not agree with his plan but beyond that, I do not appreciate how he treated or better said made my grandmother and my mother feel. We chose to go to Dr. Koo because of a referral, someone who recommended him and his office to be spectacular. I am truly disappointed by how he treated my grandmother. Not even a simple, are you okay? how are you doing? after pulling her tooth out. Just a simple "done." Overall, I am grateful the tooth is out and grandma is doing well but disappointed by Dr. Koo. In the end, Actions speak louder than words, right? PS: I am all ears if you (Dr. Koo) reads this. Maybe I can help my mother and grandmother understand why you recommended the extra tooth and implant. Although, we probably won't go back to you nor recommend you. Thank you. read more

I've been coming here for 22 years since I was a young kid. Dr. Koo made this place what it is. I just found out he is no longer with this group but Dr. Wen is pretty awesome too. The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars from me is why I decided to write this post. I think it's very sleazy that they are now presenting paperwork for patients to sign "annually" that includes an arbitration agreement as if it's just normal required paperwork. Most patients wouldn't know what they're signing, they are giving up their rights and they don't know it's their choice. It's coercive behavior especially when it's easy to think the doctor won't agree to see you unless you comply. So wrong! If you're doctors office asks you to sign one, don't!!! read more

The workers here are nice but unfortunately, almost all of them are beyond incompetent at their jobs. I arrived on time for my appointments in multiple occasions and was told to wait in the lobby for an hour each time. Why waste your customers time? If you can not handle the minuscule workload of a small dental office, you should not book clients so close together. Half hearted apologies do nothing to make up for the wasted time. I will not be coming back and I suggest customers avoid this place unless they enjoy headaches. read more

Not happy. While service is fine (I needed deep cleaning), I understood that the cost would be $160, which I paid. The first visit was for half the jaw. When I came for the second visit, I was asked to pay another $160. It was explained to me (with the copy of pricing list, that I was not provided the first time) that the cost is $80 per quadrant. This is a rip off (I have Dental Care insurance). My reaction: "I will not pay more, I will change dentist and please delete all further appointments with your office." read more

I've been coming here for the past six months and I'm quite pleased. Believe it or not, I found this dentist office only after calling four others who also accepted my HMO insurance. The difference? One told me I had gum disease when I didn't (sadly, not the first time it's happened) while the other three informed me prior to my first appointment, insurance wouldn't cover the entire cost of a visit and I'd have to pay between $50-$75 out of pocket. This place? None of that. Not only would insurance pay for everything, but the staff would take great care of me! In the front office, they're friendly and helpful (they even have a sense of humor) and in back, the doctors and hygienists are cool as well. No hidden fees, no inflated diagnoses (I'm embarrassed that this even needs to be said) and a friendly staff! In another 6 months, I'll be back getting my third cleaning. I'm sold! read more

We came here for the ortho but will be staying for the whole staff. My daughter just started her braces this week, and she needed a few cavities and a good cleaning done in preparation. Diane Nguyen is my new favorite dentist. She was so gentle and took the time to do things the right way.
