Can't believe they went behind my back to clients house and tried to sell them additional windows saying the very windows I bought from them were the wrong size. Just a shame. Had two double-hung (ropes and pulleys) sash windows installed in our 1906 Craftsman home. They did great work, on a house this age there are always challenges, nothing is plumb, or square after 100+ years. Steve and Jason did the work and were on time and thoroughly cleaned up after, they also made sure to cover the windows after the first day since there was a chance of rain. Two days of work included interior trim and exterior trim. Highly recommend. On a side note, the windows were manufactured by Coor and they will do custom wood, single-pane dash windows if you are looking for period correct replacement windows. read more

We purchased Marvin windows from this company, but they were unable to complete the installation work because there were several missing and incorrect hardware pieces. They promised to return to finish the installation after receiving full payment but they never returned. We called and emailed multiple times but never received a response. I don't understand why or how this company is in business. I made an appointment for custom fabrication on several doors. The sales rep came out and took measurements, said he would get back to me with a quote. Three weeks, an email to the company and several phone calls, I still don't have a quote. The last time I called the office they said I would have to talk directly with the salesman, who does not return my calls. They were rude and not helpful in any way. Ridiculous. read more

I am so sad that I didn't check the Yelp reviews before I signed the contract to have Arcadia Sash & Door replace 8 interior doors at my home. My home is a very modest 50's era house and I wanted to replace the interior hollow-core doors that had split veneers and large chipped areas from 70 years of family living. Matt came promptly and did the measurements and the order, but I was so surprised once the doors were installed to see that the brand new doors are also split! Yikes - $4,000 for brand new doors that are split, sound like the door jams are breaking and don't close right! I contacted Matt to let him know my concerns and he said Tom, the owner, would come out to look at the situation. After a week and not hearing back, I called Matt again. He did say there had been a cancellation that morning and Tom would be able to come in an hour - thank goodness I am retired and can be available at a moment's notice! Tom came out and explained to me he was working on a very large project - I think he said it involved 300+ doors, so I realized my job was not very significant in his opinion. He did take his time to look at my concerns and he had reasons why nothing should be done to correct the issues, though serendipity would have it that one of the doors with a privacy lock did lock accidentally, and since I was not given the tool to unlock the doors if this occurred, Tom was at a bit of a loss on how to remedy the situation . . . very problematic. He said he didn't know why the tool wasn't provided (apparently, the manufacturer doesn't include them with the new doorknobs), but he said they did have many at their office and he would have Matt contact me and provide the "keys" and names of contractors who could finish the new doors. When I didn't hear back from Matt, I contacted him and asked that he leave the "keys" and also the names of the contractors for me in an envelope for me to pick up the next day. He said he didn't think any of the contractors would be interested in such a small job (I feel so insignificant that I don't have 300+ doors to finish!). Needless to say, Matt didn't have the tool I needed, though did try to provide something that didn't work. I did call back, but Matt wasn't available and so far, hasn't returned my call, so I am very sad, frustrated, and disappointed. I forgot about the possible over-charge for the labor . . . the quote was for two days of labor, the scheduler indicated the job would take two days, the installer also indicated the job would take two days, but the work was done in one day . . . I paid for two days and maybe that is fair, but it doesn't feel fair. So, moral of the story is: Read those Yelp reviews to avoid making a costly mistake! read more

The 'receptionist' was not friendly at all, and like many who have left comments it made me feel they did not care to do business with me I would not patronage this company since based on many comments they have not improved in the area of customer service. read more

We have had a great experience from start to finish with Arcadia Sash and Door. We have worked with them many times and always been treated kindly and given great guidance. Recently, for an entire house remodel for the exterior we ordered Marvin doors and windows, plus interior doors. Andy explained the benefits, cost differences, pros and cons, etc. of the different companies they carry. He came out multiple times to the job site to make sure our openings were the correct size. Tom and Andy remeasured the interior one more time because we changed the door ways. They have truly gone out of their way to be helpful . read more

I never even stepped through the door but I was helping an executive with a personal errand. The person was remodeling a home near Arcadia and asked me to help with ordering doors. i found one place but they didn't deliver. Another place said there were special permits to deliver to a certain city. I called this place and talked to Steve S. He was great! he was able to answer all my questions, got me quotes in a timely manner and personally delivered the doors himself. I called multiple times a day to make sure the job got done and he answered or was able to get on the phone with me almost every time. The executive was happy and I did everything over the phone in less than a week. They're looking into more doors now. FYI: They only accept MC and Visa for a 3% charge. Delivery charge is $75 although I don't know what the delivery radius is or if it's to specific areas. Feel free to inquire. read more

I just had ASD replace all of my windows and patio doors and they did a fantastic job! Tom, the owner, came out to measure and was very straight forward and honest with everything. The installers, Steven and Noe (sp?), were so polite and left my house looking cleaner than when they started. These guys have been around for over 30 years and really know their stuff! My backdoor window would no longer stay up because the plastic pins broke. As a cost effective measure, my handyman suggested we order a custom sized window to replace it. He called AS&D, spoke with Steve and then went to see him to place the custom order with my specific size. After he came back with the order, he told me that I needed to pay in person. I went to pay in person with a credit card and Steve told me that I would be charged an extra fee because I was using a credit card. Sooooo.... Because I do not carry my checkbook with me, I sent in a check. When the window came in and my handyman went to install it, he found out that it did not fit. We rechecked the original order and then re-measured the new window. The new window was not the size we ordered with our custom dimensions. Two days later, several hours of time wasted: on the phone: taking back the window: and labor paid for to repair and secure the gaping hole in my back door, Steve REFUSED to refund my money nor order the correct size as originally listed. His defense to my handyman was that the industry standard was the only size he could get. And "he had told him that." And yet, the invoice SPECIFICALLY lists the custom order dimensions! Hopefully, whoever is reading this review will make the right decision about whether or not to do business with this company. Even if I 'tried', I couldn't make this story up. HOA recommended Arcadia Sash & Door (ASD) for install of windows (per HOA specs). The windows were not cheap and ASD had completed many other installations in the complex. ASD does not work on the weekends, so I took the first day of the job off work. On the day of the install, ASD called and said the installer was sick but they would come the next day, which they did. In my opinion, the installation took days longer than it should've taken. The communication throughout the project was terrible, each day you would think that they were going to complete the job and, no, it was going to take another day, and then another day, and another day. It would be nice to know in advance how long the installation would take and get updates throughout the project. ASD did not clean up very well each day. As a matter of fact, nails were left around the garage and I found them in tires on both of our cars - yes, I had to get tires fixed on two cars (one a tire repair, one new tire). One of the windows was cracked during the installation. I expected the window to be corrected in a timely manner. The job was either too small for them to care about or ASD has terrible customer service. Two weeks after ASD completed the install, I called to get an update on the cracked window. I was informed that it was scheduled to arrive in two days and someone would call to schedule an appointment to make the repair. Well, over THREE MONTHS later, ASD finally called and wanted to schedule an appointment. Needless to say, I was not going to bend over backwards, take time off of work, so that ASD could correct their mistake. A week later, I received another call to schedule an appointment and I asked to speak to the owner. He is definitely has no clue about customer service. He never apologized for the mistake, but had no problem expressing his frustrations with his employees, etc. I told him that I was not taking time off of work but they could come on the weekend to fix the window. We scheduled the appointment for Saturday at 9am. Well, they did not arrive until 9:45am. I hate when people waste my time. You can at least have the courtesy to call and say that you are running late. Well, guess what, they had the wrong window, and not just one time but two times. It took THREE APPOINTMENTS for them to fix the cracked window. I would never use ASD for a window installation ever again and I would never refer them to any friends, family or anyone else for that matter. read more

I had a very, very unfortunate experience with Arcadia Sash and Doors recently, I had windows put in my condo in 2009!!! They pulled the permit with the City of Pasadena, I paid $420.00 for it! They we supposed to call the city when the install was completed for a final sign off on those windows...they installed a total of 8 windows at cost of over $12,000.00...previously I had used them on my home in Arcadia, Ca, windows and interior doors and paid them quite handsomely for that installation as well. Prior to my recent experience with them I had recommended them to others...NO LONGER WILL I DO THAT! I now have my condo in escrow and found out from the city of Pasadena that ASD HAD NEVER called for a final inspection and when I called them on it I was told that they had called for the final and that I must have LOST it!! WRONG, the city has no appointment in their system as having been called to come and inspect to sign off...Tom (who I had dealt with at ASD) would not return my call and when I called a second time to discuss how they were going to handle this, Melissa, told me in no uncertain terms, that this was my problem, they did what they were supposed to do....she was rude and had no idea what customer service was. I in fact told her that her customer service skills were horrible, someone was coaching her on her answers (another woman) and when I asked if I could speak to the woman in the background, she said no one was there! I of course told her not to lie to me and that I fully expected a return call back from Tom...well that was last week and I have yet to hear from Tom....I had to go back to the city of Pasadena and reactivate my permit of 5 years ago, pay a fee to do that so I can get the windows inspected and signed off! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE AGAIN...they have caused undo stress in this situation and have not come forward to do the right thing, it is their job to make sure that a final approval on the windows be done....they have totally fallen down on the job in this case...... read more

We went back to the store to select the doors we needed, the salesman was supposed to e-mail us an estimate, we never received anything. Horrible Customer Service. I bought some materials from them a year ago. When it came time to complete the project, I called them back because I was missing some hardware, still had the Invoice with all tne info. They did not want to help. I asked them if it was too much trouble for them that I would call the supplier. The supplier was very embarrassed and tried to do all of the legwork but needed the Customer Number from Arcadia Sash and Door we called them again. They refused to get anyone on the phone to help. We hired Arcadia Sash and Door to replace our aging aluminum sliding doors. Our house was challenging as the existing doors were literally poured onto wet cement. They could only install two doors a day and it rained one day while they were here. The guys were great about covering the furniture, indoors and out, and did their best to minimize the dust. They also dry wall patched the areas inside, stucco patched outside, and replaced some of the wood trim that had to be removed. They cleaned up on the last day and cared enough to make sure all the details were finished. We're still waiting on a few small parts, but I am confident they'll return and completely finish the job. It was hard work and it took longer than expected, but we're thrilled with the results. read more

Not to pile on here, but when we did our remodel I found AS&D very difficult. We ordered more than a dozen Marvin windows and doors, with a total bill around $17K. The ordering process was fine and we really liked the product. But one of the doors arrived broken. I thought it would be a simple matter to resolve but I couldn't get AS&D to do anything about it. I called several times and they said that they'd take care of it but nothing happened. Weeks went by and our contractor needed to leave our job because he couldn't continue until the doors were ready. After I made multiple calls to the manufacturer and the distributor myself eventually I got someone to rush us another door. But it really seemed to me at the time that AS&D didn't care that the product we had bought from them had arrived damaged. I was really disappointed in the level of service we got considering the price we paid. read more
