My review is about misleading pricing on the Pinky's website and how the company handled my feedback when I raised these concerns. We purchased an Air4 Patio door that is clearly shown on their website with large black handles to open and close. During the online product configuration, there is no point where you're asked if you want to include door handles or given any clear option about this essential feature. The website does mention that "locks" are not included--but a lock is not the same as a door handle, which is a basic necessity for any door. When our doors arrived, each one had a major gap where the handle was supposed to be. I contacted customer service and exchanged multiple emails. They repeatedly insisted that "locks are not included," refusing to acknowledge that handles (or levers) and locks are different. The handles/locks are sold separately for over $500--more than 10% of the door purchase price. By calling handles "locks," not clearly presenting handles as an option during purchase, but prominently showing handles in every product image, Pinky's is using unfair and misleading pricing tactics (an unlawful practice per FTC). Throughout this process, it would have been helpful for customer service to simply admit the communication is misleading, but instead I just received repeated explanations how i've missed the point about the "locks". Here's what obviously needs explaining to Pinky's: Honest, transparent pricing matters more than you think. Gaslighting your customers, and hiding 10% of the total cost in "locks" you require buyers to purchase after the fact - are NOT the way to earn turn and followership. read more

We bought our door about 6 months ago. We did major renovations and it wasn't installed until 3 months later when we noticed that all the windows on the door were hazy. We tried and tried cleaning them to no avail. Turns out the glass is dirty from the inside of the double glazing. Believe it or not they hadn't cleaned the windows before they installed them. All three windows of this door are filthy. And there's nothing we can do about it. Pinky's customer service is nonexistent. We tried dealing with them but we just hit a brick wall. Once you're out the door with any of their products, that's it, you're on your own. We intended to purchase windows from them as well but because of their poor workmanship we decided to go with someone else. A huge expense because of one of their careless employees dirty hands. The humans finally agreed that my watch dog hobby needed to be supported. I have been barking at a door that didn't allow the visibility I deserve. I am happy to share that the doors are finally in and I supervised the entire process and checked the work of the best installer and scratch giver William Trable along the way. The male human keeps knocking on the door frame and noting they are "solid" and the female one (the spare) cares about pretty things and keeps admiring the elegant iron design and breeze. It all began badly for me when I tried to change the price of a door that was clearly agreed upon. When they pointed out the price would be higher, I questioned why. The gent in their promotion videos is named dion. Sad to see an adult losing his temper in such a manner because of a question. I should have walked out at that moment. My mistake. At any rate, my main concern was with the quality of the door. I was advised that my door will be available for inspection before pick up. However, when I was there with the truck ready to be picked up. The door was not there, and it would be several hours before the door would be ready. After waiting for the door, the unprofessional young person assisting me would not allow me to inspect the door. I had already paid for the item, and I was forced to take the door as is. Since I hoped for the best, I took the door and was on my way. After a very careful installation, the door would not close properly. I contacted dionn... described the problem and sent him photos. He claimed it was a bad installation and he could not do anything about it. I asked for the steps to improve the installation, but he refused to help, lost his temper, and hung up on me. After several different approaches to the installation, another door builder came to assist me with the door. He properly adjusted the hinges, ground some of the sides, and re-welded the hinges back to the frame. The door was able to close properly. It was a costly repair for me. IT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE CONSTRUCTION WAS DONE CORRECTLY. Seriously dionnn... WILL NEVER BUY FROM HIM. read more

We ordered 4 steel doors - two exterior and two interior- from Pinky's. For the money they are great doors. High quality. I will say that logistically it can be tricky ordering their doors. You've got to have at least 2, probably 3-4 people, "on call" the day the doors will be delivered because you'll get a 4 hour delivery window. These things are very heavy (they are clear on that) and you need more than 2 people to get the doors from the truck to the house. You'll want dollys, carts, extra people, etc. Lastly, a lot of door installers will not install doors they don't sell. You'll want to find a handy man or framer who will do the job (if not working with a contractor) before you buy these. We'd buy again but would have been less stressful knowing these things on the front end. read more
