Great new boutique brand hotel in the domain. We used the Archer last week for our annual company meeting and it was a great location and great value. I really enjoyed the great atmosphere and ambiance of the lobby, restaurant and meeting rooms. The guest room was spacious and well appointed, including the seemingly extinct fully stocked mini bar. The only thing I can nit-pick, which prevented a 5 star review was the underwhelming water pressure in the otherwise luxurious shower. Customer service was outstanding from the front desk to the meeting coordinators to the prompt and courteous valet staff. Breakfast and lunch buffet service was delicious and well presented each day. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay here again! read more

My wife and I had a wonderful, romantic time at the Archer hotel due to their amazing staff and breath taking accommodations. We loved the bar with their diverse friendly bartenders, ambiance and perfectly strong and high on the mixology scale cocktails. The rooms were very well decorated, modern and edgy. The fireplace on our balcony was a unique feature, it made our stay so much more fun to enjoy the outdoors warm. The pool deck is so funky, you have to go for a dip, have a drink and unwind on a cabana. Stefanie specifically made our time so unique and special! She exhibited great professionalism with a warm and genuine presence, and even helped make our stay unforgettable by telling the hotel who then gave us wishing bracelets to celebrate. This is probably the best hotel to stay if you're visiting the domain area. I've stayed at the Westin and Aloft (I usually stay in Starwood properties) but after multiple bad experiences with those hotels I switched to the Archer hotel. There are espresso machines in each room, snacks and drinks. The beds are super comfortable and everything in the rooms is always very clean. Tv has free on demand and the restaurant has a delicious options (highly recommend the avocado fundido). read more

Took my wife here for a short getaway. Been to The Domain many times and she had commented about wanting to stay there. So I surprised her for a date night. It's as nice - maybe nicer, on the inside as it looks from the outside. Service at check-in was a 5 star experience, including complimentary champagne. Nice touch. The facility is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. Great views looking out over The Domain. Although situated in a pedestrian-oriented district, we especially enjoyed the complimentary local shuttle service provided via their Cadillac Escalade. We took advantage of that to go out to dinner that evening and then do some shopping. When we called for the pickup at the end of our outing, the driver was there within minutes. We finished off our evening at Second Bar + Kitchen. To be honest, we've been there before just for dinner, (and also to the one downtown) and weren't overly impressed. But we decided to give it a second chance, including desert. We split the burger and jalepeno Caesar salad. It was great. Burger was done just right and that salad was unlike any I've ever had. I really enjoyed it. But the treat of the night was the key lime semifreddo. Now I'm not going to pretend like I knew what that was going in, other than something to do with key lime pie, but after talking it through with our waiter, I was convinced we had to try it. And that was a good call. One of the best deserts I've ever had. Kudos to Second Bar + Kitchen on the unique menu offerings. I'll start off with the good, the hotel is beautiful and has a great location. Close to shops and restaurants, away from the downtown congestion but close enough for a short uber/drive. The service in general was solid. I had 2 issues... 1. I had to beg for water every morning. They weirdly never replace the water in my room everyday, so I had to call down and ask for it. So damn annoying. They didn't even replace the large water that I opened from the mini bar. 2. There was an event at nearby that made it impossible to get back to the hotel. The streets were all blocked off. I paid for valet but couldn't my car back to the hotel after leaving earlier that morning. I called the hotel and was provided 0 help on how to get my car back to the valet stand. Even more annoying was that no one warned me about this when I left in the morning. Ended up parking elsewhere and walking, not a huge deal but ended up losing almost an hour of my day doing that. Later that night I notice they are doing valet in another parking lot yet none of the staff could tell me that. . They agreed to not charge me for yesterday but still. Not a good look. read more

Lovely hotel - great area for shopping and restaurants but a little touristy. We had room service deliver a couple glasses of champagne and found that to be a bit pricey. We were here for a wedding and I believe the hotel catered the rehearsal dinner which was REALLY good. All the food was stellar and they made special accommodations because I eat vegan. I will never recommend them! We paid over $30 for a couple bar drinks to enjoy the upstairs patio. We went up and couple see the ballroom was booked. We went out to the patio. After a few minutes a manager comes out to tell us we needed to leave, the patio is reserved. WTF. You have no sign and no one told us. That's the whole reason we came here. I will make sure we never do business at the archer or Second Bar again. Shitty service for what was a great hotel. read more

The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated. Upon arrival staff were helpful and check in was easy. When my husband called down for a sewing kit and later when we ordered a pizza we received the wrong rooms order. This was an inconvenience but the hotel staff went above and beyond to correct the issues and make sure that we were happy. I'm very pleased with the service, cleanliness and location of this hotel. I was booked to this hotel as part of an event and I loved it. The rooms are modern and well furnished. The showers and bathrooms are good sized. The floor to ceiling windows make the room feel bigger and give good views of the Domain. We had a reception here, the bartender Roy was excellent, and made great Old Fashions. I was truly blown away by the excellent service, southern hospitality, world class accomodations, and professional and friendly staff during our stay at the Domain. Madison, Lemerly, Ryan, Damian, and Raven were so amazing at catering to our requests quickly. The concierge even guided us the right direction for some great Hill Country barbecue options that were excellent. They were all so helpful. We highly recommend paying the extra $$ to get a suite, it totally enhances your experience and provides a very premium feel. ARCHER is blessed to have such an excellent staff. I loved this hotel. I give it only 4 stars because of our room and view. Literally every room (it seems) had a balcony or view. Ours did not have view or an operable window, and since it was a busy weekend there was no moving rooms. Our windows were huuuuuge but frosted half way up to disguise the ugly roof and utility view, meaning, if I wanted to see out I had to stand on a chair. In addition the window frosting, they did not open!!!! So no fresh air for 4 days was a bummer and totally stifling!!!!That said, the biggest plus was that our room had 2 king beds! What an amazing concept. The hotel bar/restaurant was so good and the amenities and surrounding area was totally cool. We didn't visit the pool area because of weather but I heard it's cool. The two king bed thing still blows me away. I would stay again but request a better room. read more

I really wanted to like this hotel. It's in The Domain. It's newer. And they have rooms with 2 king size beds; however we didn't stay in one this time. The staff was very nice and hospitable. It was the room. Extremely small, temp set at 65 but always hot in the room, restaurant at the hotel is insanely elaborate and complicated. I, for one, would have ordered room service if there was a more simplistic menu. Breakfast for 2 with eggs, bacon, hash browns and sides of fruit with coffe was $80. I had a wonderful time at the Archer and if you would have asked me to write a review upon checking out this would have been 5 stars - up until my interaction with a young woman at the front desk a moment ago. The rooms are extremely clean, the food is excellent and they leave home baked desserts in your room every night. What's not to love. I noticed an odd $3.25 charge on my expenses that was not included on the original hotel bill. I called the Archer tonight to understand what the charge was related to since it was hitting my company card and needed to be itemized. Dakota at the front desk explained the charge was a mini-bar expense (M&Ms to be exact). Had this been my personal credit card I would not have been concerned - I kindly explained I was sorry for the inconvenience, but had not eaten any M&Ms and was hopeful they could correct the charge. After asking me if I had any guests in my room that may have eaten them (nope, but thanks) Dakota assured me she could fix the issue, but not before calling me a liar in what I can only imagine was meant to be a discreet utterance. Not what I expected, but thank you! Sad that that will be what I remember from my stay at the Archer and not the other highlights of the experience. read more

I was in Austin for business- no rental car. The property is pristine and service outstanding. Little things like the fully equipped charging stations on the first floor in the lobby and absolutely great internet connection were so helpful. Food at the restaurant was good and service everywhere on the property was excellent. Also, Lyft in Austin is excellent and the Archer is easy for drivers to find. I never waited more than 4 minutes for a ride, usually less. All that supports 5 stars. They could improve their internet with a secured connection. read more

Loved this hotel! Apparently they are the only one in the area (said the guy at the reception) that has a room with 2 king beds. Everything is clean, the room smelled nice, the toiletries smell good and can actually clean. Bed sheets are so soft adding more comfort to the already comfortable bed. The pool is gorgeous with a beautiful view and the bar right next to it puts a perfect cap to your evening. This place is walking distance to so many restaurants and shopping. Thanks to Travelocity and an overcrowded Republic of Texas Bike Rally and Shania Twain concert, we ended up in a hotel in high end shopping center farther away from downtown than we planned. A twenty dollar lyft ride made it a bargain. By the way, I am slow to warming to tech things, but a lyft ride from Frank Erwin to 6th street is less than ten dollars. The petty cabs charge 10 dollars a person. The 1.3 mile walk in the Texas humidity costs you any trace of grooming, hair and makeup efforts. Pro: The hotel is so lovely, there was an unsubstantiated tales about them turning away a certain celebrity entourage due to their overblown security demands. The staff is genuinely welcoming and never overtly paused for tips. The chocolate mints at the front desk- nice touch.The carmels and brownie bites and Fuji water as complimentary welcome gifts in our room- sweet surprise. The happy hour in the hotel lobby is a bargain. The high bar tables, which is usually my least favorite seating, was very comfortable, if not a tad cramped. Five dollar drinks. Five dollar appetizers. Ten dollar entrees. The drinks are not the usual line up. The hit for us was the refreashing Hibiscus drink. The bacon wrapped dates, stuffed with blue cheese, were a happy hour highlight. My burger was perfectly juicy, but not significant. It's summer in Texas- avocados are in season and belong on any protein offering. I liked the "pome frittes" appetizer better than the house made potato chips.The bedding is luxurious and the pillows magically sunk in the shape your head, but still provides soft support. CON: The king beds are only the correct height for NBA players. We needed to use the dressing benches to crawl up on the beds. The light switches and places to charge our phones were too well hidden, and we ended up on a lengthy blurry eyes search for them. Conclusion: I'd love to return. We experienced a bump, after we left. The emailed me a charge for mini bar things, but we never touched the mini bar. How so you prove a negative? I didn't even know the things they charged me for were in the room, and are not our type of snacks. As soon as I called to address it, they reversed the charges politely.I left my mistakenly forgot my credit card at happy hour, and when I asked, security brought to to my room. It's easy to shine when things go as planned. This place shined thru adversity. read more

The issues that I had were trivial. i.e. Toilet running through the night, minibar not getting refilled, guest book in living room had profanities written in it. Don't stay here. As I'm laying in the bed herr at 4am in the morning...it's now the 3rd time I've gotten up in the middle of the night sweating because of their ac here. Apparently it's a "smart" ac system and will only work if it senses you in the room. For the price I'm being charged here....I shouldn't be waking up 3x in the middle of the night to adjust the ac. And when I called down...their solution was to bring me a box fan. read more

I travel quite a bit and I have to say this hotel is fantastic. From the service, the rooms to the location this hotel has it all. The showers were really amazing, I know this is a strange thing to point out but most hotels showers really miss the mark and this one was great(visit them you will see what I mean). There is a pool bar on the second floor the views are great especially for December weather. I do NOT trust the staff (aside from those at front desk) at this hotel. I have stayed here several times out of convenience for work functions, but have had expensive items go missing TWICE. Neither time were the items found, yet I KNOW this is where I last had both items. Nice hotel otherwise. Nice rooms. Nice pool. Great location.
