Visited this restaurant with a group of 5. We ordered Three different types of bone in Wings to include buffalo, Buff-a-que and Thai Chill. 7 wings for 13.99$ Also got a chicken quesadilla for 13.99$ and waffle fries for 9.99$ And To drink grabbed a cosmopolitan martini. Service , food and drinks were great.

I liked this place, girlfriend not so much. But these are my reviews so oh well. Chowder was thick and delicious. Fish was hot and sweet potato fries were spot on. Enjoyed the outdoor seating on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Great service and accommodating the service dog with a water bowl was nice too. Our server did the same for the well behaved dog across the way. Would eat here again if in town.

We were starving and just wanted to grab a quick bite and drink at the bar. It was busy but service was great. We got wings, fries and half an order of nachos. I was craving nachos and wings but knew we couldn't eat it all. The bartender suggested a half order of nachos. Perfect! And we were also able to get all flats for wings! I don't think a lot of places do that. Delish!!

Overall it was a very pleasant visit . The bartender was extremely patient and helped my group decide what would be best to get on the menu and with drinks. The wings were very good with slight kick for the buffalo. The ambiance tonight was loud and very cold even though I was situated at the end of the bar away from the door. It was only extra loud because it was trivia night.

    Pulled pork nachos

Stopped by a few days ago. Hadn't been in quite awhile. We ordered the pulled pork nachos. They were okay. The pulled pork sauce was a bit sweet for my liking but they were okay. Calamari. They were good. Typical, not overcooked so that was good, nothing making them super tasty. We ordered buffalo wings, raspberry chipotle and the tai chili. Raspberry was great. The buffalo were good. The tai chili had no flavor which is odd but they just tasted like fried plain wings. The Guiness was fresh so that was nice. The service was great. Hostess and waitstaff very pleasant. The ambiance is rustic. It was packed so it was a bit noisy but every table was filled and people were waiting so that was expected. I've tried a lot of wings that are closer to home for me, so unless I'm in the area I wouldn't go out of my way to go there . Parking is on a Main Street with other restaurants so we had a hike when we finally found a spot. There are stairs to get in if that's an issue for some.

I've always loved Archie's! Can't go wrong with a buffalo chicken wrap! Their fries are not my absolute favorite though. Service is always good and love that we have the choice of sitting outside when it's nice out!

Went to Archie's for the first time in awhile- staff was very friendly though it seemed like they just had 3 people between the bar and the floor. I will say when a game is on, it can get very noisy and crowded, especially as the bar is not super big in the first place/ there is not room for larger TVs like other sports bars. The location is nice in the center of Wallingford. The food came in very large portions, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the salad was though chicken was maybe a little bland. I had previously mainly gone for their nachos which are a great bar snack! Overall I wouldn't drive from out of town to go here but it is a decent spot if looking for a local bar with some games on.

Late night Date night Done right!!! ON A TUESDAY NIGHT AT 12 AM!! (It's a win for me) (kitchen was closed obviously)) Loved the service. Thankful that it was open. So many bars said open on yelp and when we pulled up the chairs were up and the lights were off!! ‍ Very friendly bartender... we had about 4 shots of tequila and had a great time!! WILL DEFINITELY RETURN

I called in a order for me and my son. We asked for 2 burgers medium and we both got rare. We also go weings and we asked for extra wet which means a lot of buffallo sauce and they were dry. plus they forgot to put the extra sauce we order in also They have always been inconsistant and it seems they always have new people there

Great vibes, great food. Also, great service! We walked in on a Monday afternoon sat down right away by the window, such a cute street it's on and the dark wood tavern vibes are very comforting. Everyone was very relaxed and friendly we never had to ask for anything they were on top of everything- extra plates/napkins plenty of water refills. Food was yummy, the Buffalo sauce is *chefs kiss* not too spicy but got a good kick/flavor. I ordered my burger well and I was happy to see it wasn't burnt to a hockey puck, but rather very tender and still juicy. Will be back for sure!

4 star food - 3 star seating so incredibly crowded in tables more so on the right side of the restaurant than the left. The food is always good - our faves are mozz sticks, pulled pork nachos (1/2 order), potato skins, grilled cheese, and their fries are always good too. No girly drink menu but solid beer and well drinks.

Famous for their wings but they have so much more to offer! They have many locations but we opted for the Wallingford one. It was a Sunday and they had all the Sunday football games on. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks prior to ordering our food. I got a Shipyard Pumpkin draft with a cinnamon and sugar rim! Omg I live for Fall!! Beer list is pretty expansive with local craft beers. i ordered the Sausalito wrap. It was filled with jalapeños, monterey jack cheese, tender pieces of chicken, salsa & sour cream. I got it with sweet potato fries. They were cooked perfectly, nice & crisp. My meal was really good. One of my friends ordered the steak & cheese and said it was really good. My other friend got the Cobb salad with salmon and raves about it the whole time she was eating it. We will be back for sure!! Parking can be hit or miss on busier days but we had no issues.

"Imitator, intimidator, stimulator Simulator, eliminator"…read more(Eminem) If ten state of the art golf simulators are your stimulators, you'll love a visit to Back 9 Social. And your visit will not be handicapped by a lack of gastropub like food and drink. Their golf simulators are very impressive and combine radar and camera technology to faithfully recreate some of the best courses in the world, including St Andrews, Pebble Beach, and 120+ others. A professional organization I belong to held a gathering there last night and had a great time. We ordered and paid for our drinks through their big bar through a QR code, but you can still pay the old-fashioned way with cash if you prefer. We had plenty of their pizzas which were quite yummy. Our golfers had a blast and I should point out that although some of the other customers I saw actually brought their own set of clubs, Back 9 can hook you up with their clubs for men, women, lefties, righties, and kids. And of course, plenty of tees and balls to whack into their high-definition screens. The facility is gorgeous, the golf simulators were amazing, the staff was helpful and friendly, and it was a very enjoyable experience.

We completely understand that the facility has every right to monitor alcohol consumption and prevent inappropriate behavior. Nobody wants people getting sloppy or disruptive, and we respect that. However, there's a much more professional and respectful way to handle it than what is done. We are unsure of her name, but the female manager present made us uncomfortable as she was constantly staring at our group throughout the evening instead of simply communicating expectations directly. The alcohol restrictions are also entirely ridiculous- I specifically was told by the bartender that I was being watched for alcohol consumption after having 2 Coronas in a time span of 1 hour and 45 minutes. The restriction on alcohol itself is not the main issue -- it's the way it is handled. We have felt watched and punished despite the fact that nobody in our group was loud, inappropriate, or intoxicated on multiple occasions. I also want to note that the bartenders have been spectacular and are always very nice. This is specially about the manager and the way she acts towards paying customers. When you're spending over $200 on the simulator alone, a little courtesy and respectful communication would go a long way. We really do like this place, but experiences like this make us hesitant to come back.

Great tap selection and their wine list is pretty extensive to cover all palates. While the appetizers list looked good, we were not starving so we went right for the mains. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here for brunch on our way back from Boston (this is right around the halfway point for us) after there was a long wait at our first/preferred destination down the street. There wasn't a wait time at all here despite Library simultaneously hosting at least one event in a different area on the establishment, but maybe that should have told us something. Super cool interior, and there's no way around it. The building very obviously housed a legit library back in the day, complete with Doric columns (a term I usually reserve for describing presidential monuments, not restaurants), and the current business leans into it, as they should. You can see in the accompanying photo that their beer tap at the bar has book covers on them, and a lot of the original interior has been preserved. So understandably, you can see why they also sell themselves as an event space; you can play around with a couple of different business models here. Without a doubt the biggest selling point we saw on our visit. Library had an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet, which is a concept I try to typically avoid because I don't possess any portion control (there are memories from the 1990s surrounding Pizza Hut and their lunch buffet that I'm still not willing to fully address) but honestly? It wasn't a problem here, and that's not a compliment. The set-up was pretty impressive; they had a pastry table, an omelet station (I think there was a roast beef or pot roast situation over here as well?) where a cook was serving up made-to-order requests, and a long table of self-serve items for both breakfast and then lunch further down the line. So you had a LOT of options depending on how your palate was feeling. Unfortunately almost everything was a giant miss. The eggs tasted like they were made from powder, the pastries were stale and/or tasteless and virtually all of the food came off as the worst kind of mass produced meal, something you'd encounter in a very low-end motel offering. The only item worth recommending was the roasted potatoes, which I thought were very flavorful and the only item that didn't require copious amounts of additional seasoning. It was so universally mediocre I'm genuinely surprised this is still something they offer every Sunday - the quality just isn't good so it feels like an unforced error to do buffet style in lieu of a more traditional sit-down brunch. Our bartender was friendly; she wasn't consistently attentive especially in the second half of the meal (we were trying to make eye contact for close to 10 minutes for the check, and she was nearby for all of it) but when she was around she was professional and accommodating. This could be a mark against us as degenerates, but we both thought the mimosas were a little too heavy on the orange juice (I'm not looking for gasoline in my brunch beverages, but ideally a nice hue on the cheeks emerges). I have to think the brunch is not their specialty - and if it is, that's a little concerning. But if I'm back in the area during a different time of week/day, I'd see if something else works here.
