Archie's is not the most aestetically pleasing place in the world, but what they lack in style, they make up for in delicious wingy goodness. I am seriously addicted to this place. I really want to branch out, but I end up getting the buffalo chicken quesadilla every time. My mouth is watering writing this review. The wings are as good as everyone says. The kitchen is open very late, which I highly appreciate. There's a pretty fun vibe in here most of the time. A good place to start or finish your night out. My one complaint is that the beers on tap NEVER change. If they gave their taps a little more love, I would probably come here more than I already do. read more

I really like this place... BUT I think they need to replace the carpet in their Wallingford location. I have been there several times and it smells like mildew. The first time I thought maybe it smelled because it was raining..I gave this location a second and third try, but the smell was always very distinct. Wandered in with a local friend and another from from Southern U.S. We were recommended to try Archie's for their wings (being Gastropub enthusiasts). Recommendation held up! We landed during happy hour and each took part in their selected $5 appetizers during that time. We all enjoyed wings (Barbecue & Buffalo) and a second appetizer. Environment: -Bar based with several tables. -Dim lighting made it hard to read the menu (reason for missing star) -Service was quick and waitress was polite and attentive. -Parking around the back was okay, I avoided the street side due to having Crew Cab Truck. The wings were perfect; -Separated in sections (drums and wings) in quantities of 7 -Buffalo is flavorful with just a little fire, but really it is flavorful and not a heat challenge at all.. -skin is crisp and the meat maintains its moisture. The other food was good as well. Fried pickles (spears) and garlic baked mini-pretzels. Nothing had the greasy taste/flavor that fried places tend to have. I don't have a cost review due to landing Happy Hour and not leaving the selected menu. Overall, definitely recommend. Look forward to landing here again. read more

Stopped by on a whim Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. It was very bust and we were seated immediately. The Waiter was very attentive, but not annoying at all, because we needed quite a few minutes to know what we wanted. When we finally ordered our food came out very quickly despite the full restaurant. The Reuben was Fantastic, one of the best I have ever had. Fries were good and crispy. This is a nice place to go for drinks with your friends. Also great for lunch, their food is good. Beer selection is good and depending on your bartender you might get a pretty strong drink. I have been eating at Archie Moore's for years. Their buffalo chicken wings are by far the best I have ever had.

Food is always amazing and I've never had a bad meal here. Even though the Wallingford location is kind of tight and loud, I still can't give Archie Moore's anything lower than 5 stars. If you want wings for a party this is the best place to get them. When we have friends or family visit, we also go with Archie Moore's wings. read more

We met family here on a weeknight in November for my 84 year old mom's birthday, and everyone loved it as much as the New Haven site. Great food, great service, great times. I've never had a bad experience at Archie Moore's. While the tap list is somewhat limited there's always something delicious available, and the food always hits the spot. The people behind the bar are always friendly and quick to get orders or address concerns. The buffalo chicken is delicious and while the wings were flavorful and crispy, they were a bit lacking with sauce. I've been several times and usually get one of a handful of things. Compared to other spots in the area, Archie Moore's always has a spot open at a bar, which blows my mind. A great place to make a regular spot for after-work dinner and drinks. read more

Love this place. It can get somewhat crowded, but I have never had to wait long for a table. I love sitting outside. The staff is attentive and the pulled pork nachos are AMAZING. I wish their salads and desserts were a bit more diverse, but I can always find something to eat there and the food has consistently been very good. If you are looking for a nice relaxed bar to go to with above average food, Archie's is your place. The bartenders are what makes this place, as Tom, Jackie, Paul and the others will know your name and always ask how you're doing. The food is stellar, and it's not just the wings. The burgers are great (especially bison burgers, or anything on a pretzel roll), and the pizza is also AWESOME. If you are just going for an app, the nachos are greasy, but will REALLY hit the spot. And I already mentioned the wings. If I had one complaint about Archie's, it's that you won't get a break on drink prices. If you are planning on being there all night with friends, you may see a hefty bill. But hey, nothing is for free, right!? That's certainly not enough to keep me away. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. We waited a half hour to be seated and our food didn't come until an hour and a half after we placed our order, and this was on a Monday night. After our food finally arrived our burgers did not come out as requested and were so raw that they were inedible. It took another half hour after we'd finished eating to even receive our check. What can I say? Archie Moore's is going to be around for a long time. This is one of the few places I can honestly say will probably prove recession-proof, except for one little gripe: in this day and age, everyone is cutting back on portion sizes. This is to be expected. The difference here is that while AM cuts back on portion sizes, they do not cut back on quality. The food, while typical bar fare, is excellent. I've come to enjoy their boneless buffalo wings and their own buffalo sauce, which comes in two strengths and is also sold in local supermarkets, is unsurpassed. The ceaser salad is also tasty. The staff are friendly, but the place is generally so busy that sometimes you have to wave a few bills in front of you to get their attention, especially if you're ordering at the bar. It's cramped, but most of the crowd are generally accomodating and tend not to look down their nose at you for needing to get by them. The drinks are cold, served in frosted glasses. The prices, while not the best around, are reasonable and indicative of quality. This is a good choice for dinner if you can deal with the volume of the crowd as it does tend to get rather noisy, but never violent or confrontational. Give Archie Moore's a shot, it's worth it. Parking is my only real issue with Archie Moore's. There's diagonal parking on the street in front, which is almost always full, even at night after all the other businesses on the strip are closed. The parking lot, located behind the restaurant and accessible to the north of the Archie Moore's, is almost always full. That alone should indicate just how good Archie Moore's is. They will most certainly be seeing my business again. For the record, I've been there at least a dozen times. read more

We went for lunch the other day and the restaurant was pretty empty. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, able to answer all questions and seemed to be pretty happy. The clam chowder was amazing. We also got a portobello special which was served over greens with bacon, gorgonzola, and spinach it was delicious! The buffalo chicken flatbread was great. I love this place. It can get really crowded and loud. Some of the crowd can be obnoxious but if you're out to have a good night it has the right ambiance for that. From the food I've tried, man they know how to cook a burger! Food can be a little on the expensive side but worth it. The wings... oh the WINGS. You have to have their wings!! They come in one standard delectable spicy flavor with the standard ranch or blue cheese and celery. The bartenders are usually very upbeat and helpful. It can get busy though so can take a little while to get a drink. They do have jager-bombs but don't use redbull. It still tastes more or less the same so I'm not complaining just letting others know. Its kind of cramped but the bar is a full half circle so if it's not too busy easy enough to sit at the bar. There is better seating if you are going there to eat as well but still "cramped". If you are claustrophobic might not be the spot for you. If you enjoy being around others, like a cozy feel to a place this is a great spot for a couple drinks and bangin wings! read more

Food was good. Place was super loud. Great clam strips. Great potato skins. Wings were a bit too sweet. Fish and chips were good.

Huge salads. Split them with a friend. We asked for burger medium and it was overcooked a bit. Sweet potatoe fries were great.

Never heard of this chain prior to discovering it on yelp on our way home from NYC. Certainly no disappointment from me or the three others in my party. The menu really has no entrees, mostly burgers sandwiches and apps (Wings of course) Ate at the bar, Tom was very friendly, upbeat and full of helpful menu suggestions. I went with the "special" grilled cheese (Brie, two kinds of cheddar and apples...yes, apples) I consider myself to be a grilled cheese fanatic and this was damn near, the best I've ever had. Others had The Philly cheese, pastrami wrap and a plate piled high of wings. We were all beyond satisfied. The prices were reasonable ($6-12) the atmosphere was very comfortable and the location was prime time (3 miles off 91) Wings were cooked to perfection, the blue cheese is made in house and is the best I've ever had, I asked for extra pickles with my sandwich because those, too, were excellent.
