We were in town for vacation and decided to stop by here after loving it last year. Unfortunately this place missed the mark for us this year. It started when we checked in. I had called the day before to get a reservation & was confirmed that they were busy but that they could seat us at 7 pm, which was perfect. We showed up at 6:50 & told the hostess we had a reservation to which she said she couldn't find us. When I told her we were confirmed to sit on the patio she again said she couldn't find us. I told her I didn't know what happened but we should have one, so she said, "Just a minute", walked to the back, then all of a sudden we were led outside to the patio at a table for 5. Strange. Our waitress didn't come over for about 5-10 minutes after that. When she came over, she took our order & then left. About 10 minutes later a new server came out & delivered drinks, spilling the beer at our table. This is fine, but he said, "Oh I'm new" & didn't clean it up. We then waited about 45 minutes for our food to come out. About 30 minutes in we asked the new server where the food was & he said, "I'll check but I'm new", then proceeded to not come back to our table. The food finally came out, but as this point our waters were empty. We never got refills until after we got our check when I asked for more water & then a pitcher was brought out & left at our table. Food was marginal. The chips & salsa you get with your entree only comes with like 6 chips, & overall food was just okay. Half our party liked it, half didn't. I understand if places are short staffed, but warning/notice/service letting customers know about it would be nice. Also I feel like refilling water is a bare minimum expectation at any restaurant. Giving three stars because I do think they have a good menu that feeds many types of eaters, & we had a good experience last year so this could have been a one off situation. Verdict's out on if we'd try this place next year when we come back. read more

Fantastic Mexican restaurant in Inlet - lots of options to choose from, including vegetarian and vegan, and their drinks, especially blueberry marg, is delicious. The staff is very friendly but since the restaurant isn't huge, I would come early, especially if you have a large group, and put your name down since they get verrryyy busy on weekends/peak times. Their back patio is beautiful, they have umbrellas at tables too to block the shade, so if it is nice outside, I would try to sit here. read more

Absolutely the best Mexican I've eaten. Had a quesadilla and some nacho's. My wife had a the same and my daughter had a fajita bowl. Drinks iced tea, spicy margarita, and a glass of wine. Restaurant is very clean with a nice outside deck in the back of the establishment. I usually eat at the Screaming Eagle ( Great Pizza / wing place) when I'm in Inlet NY but my daughter who tries to eat vegan ( she cheats) has been here before and they have options for her ... loved this place. I know being a tourist town restaurant reviews can vary depending on the help they have at the time. We ate there on the fourth of July and it was excellent!!! If you love little ADK towns and like Mexican give this place a try. read more

Newer business to the Inlet area so we tried them out on a recent evening for dinner. Tiny (but cute) inside with tables outside on the patio as well. Called for take out and was told an hour. Ended up being more like an hour and twenty minutes so be sure you call well in advance of when you'd like to eat. Take out orders can be placed over the phone or in person. Portion sizes are generous and they serve the taco salad almost like a taco pizza for take out (I'm assuming so it fits in the box). Food is OK...one of the few places serving Mexican in the area so if that's what you're craving it's worth a stop. read more

Archie's came up on a list of local places to eat in Inlet with a decent rating. The menu looked good and we were excited to get some takeout burritos to eat down by the water. My husband got the classic burrito with chicken and it was essentially 2 cups of half-melted orange cheese and a few pieces of dry chicken. It was pretty pathetic, especially for $15. My $18 California burrito was lacking in flavor and was really dry, even with the cheese sauce on the side. I had a better burrito in California in a ritzy beach town a few weeks ago and paid less. (BTW, a California burrito traditionally has carne asada and French fries. Why does Archie's call theirs a California burrito?!) Overall the prices were so outrageous for the quality of food we got. If you're looking for a quick lunch you are better off going to the deli counter at the grocery store across the street. read more

First off let's just say I wasn't expecting much out of this place, since it's in the middle of nowhere in a small town in the Adirondacks. Don't judge a book by its cover! The place was small and kinda a gem. The place next door to this had an hour wait. I walked in and was sitting and eating lunch and out the door in less than 30 minutes. The decor is awesome plenty of old concert photos. The music on the speakers they played was also fantastic. I'm thinking the owner is a (deadhead). The 2 employees were so inviting and sweet. They were eager to serve and answer any questions. They were very friendly to us and everyone that entered. Now for the wow factor the food was so delicious I was not expecting it to be so good. We had burritos and street corn. The burritos were hot and the ingredients tasted very fresh. My favorite part was the street corn not many places have it. This corn was super sweet and seasoned so well that I had to get one to go for the car ride. Everything looked and tasted great. The only downside is at the time I was there they didn't have a license to sell alcohol. They were in the process of getting their license. I would tell anyone to try this place especially the street corn. read more

Different option in town for lunch other than a sandwich or pizza. I got the Veggie Rito but over lettuce sans wrap or "bowl style'. The menu said they can do that for any burrito. Came with a small side of chips and salsa and choice of another side. The cilantro jalapeño slaw wasn't spicy and wasn't overly dressed- it had nice crunch The reason for 4 stars is the salsa. Camping in the area and was eager to try the only Mexican place for some distance. My wife and I love Mexican food and must confess, we have high expectations for our ethnic foods. The Good: the restaurant is really cute and everyone there seemed pretty nice. It is clear they didn't cut many corners when decorating, but it seriously looks like a sports bar, not a Mexican place. I mean most restaurants around these parts employ high school kids that spend summers here, but these kids were capable and did a decent job. The waitress and hostess were both very attentive and friendly. The Bad: like I said, we have high expectations for our Mexican food, so we were disappointed. We ordered some queso and we're not impressed. I mean it seems as though it had separated. It was runny and the color was off as well. My Burrito was hearty, but honestly not very flavorful. The guacamole was lacking in seasoning. My wife ordered the Birria Tacos and they were disappointing as well. I really don't aim to be unfair or harsh, but the beef tasted a lot like just plain pot roast. The refried beans and the rice were also unimpressive. I feel like the beans were canned and the rice was really bland. I mean I understand that in Inlet prices are high and touristy places aren't always the best, but If you are craving something authentic, this place just won't do. read more

Our dinner was very good. Archie's Alley is a small establishment, so make your reservations ahead. Food was very good and reasonably priced for the area. Service was also very good. We went last minute and had to wait an hour for a table, but Inlet is very walker friendly so it was easy to kill a little time. Inlet has upped its dining with the additions of late. We went on a weekday afternoon a few weeks ago. We have heard good things about Archie's Alley but we wanted to check it out ourselves. We sat on the back porch on a sunny day. The area was clean and quiet, the service was good. I had tacos and my husband had a burrito. The food was fresh and filling. Sat down at the end of the empty bar for Taco Tuesday. Waitresses standing around with thumbs up their butts as they walk back and forth and don't even acknowledge that I am there. Bartender then takes drink and dinner orders from other patrons who later sit down after me at the other end of the bar. I wait another couple of minutes as multiple waitresses walk back and forth seemingly confused with the place half empty. Finally just got up and left. Love the decor, friendly & informative waitress answered all our menu questions, very clean, great location including a back deck on the canal which would be great on a summer day. The downside....flavors in everything we ordered were unremarkable. Nothing stood out as "tasty". Even the Pico Gallo needed salt. Will definitely try it again and hope for more flavor. I haven't been to Inlet before and this was the first place we chose to have food, and for a small town this is the perfect place to grab a quick bite.
