However, i found that the froyo itself was quite underwhelming. I tried the vanilla froyo, the cookies and cream froyo, and the orange creamsicle froyo. The orange creamsicle was good, but i found that the vanilla and cookies and cream froyo flavors were a little muted and had a bitter aftertaste. My family and I stumbled upon arctic ape on our way home from new braunfels just searching ice cream near me off i35. So glad we stopped. Right out front some guys were selling hot wheels and my son immediately had a huge smile on his face. They were so excited for ice cream though they couldn't wait to get inside. Arctic ape is designed so neat for kids , everything caught their eye! There's so much to talk about while eating there between the ambiance and the fun trivia cards on each table. There's plenty of delicious froyo and Italian ice flavors to choose from... but the toppings !!! Omg the toppings are endless. Anything your heart desires, they deliver. They even have the dividers for those of us who don't want to mix their flavors. They weigh by the ounce here. Also, the size pictured is the smallest they have (which isn't very small) and I do think they'd benefit from offering smaller kid size bowls for those of us that don't want to encourage our kids to have 12 oz of froyo , lol. I've been coming here for months, usually a great experience with the employees and the overall atmosphere but today an employee was just downright disrespectful towards my group of friends, myself and his coworker. As I was being cashed out, He grimaced at me and then proceeded to talk badly about his coworker, saying how she's annoying and all she does is complain when she's a nice employee. After we went to go sit outside, someone from my group had gone inside to get water and when she asked if she could get some water bottles, he proceeded to say "I don't know, can you?" I found this utterly disrespectful towards paying customers and would like to see consequences being put in place for this disrespect and unprofessional behavior. This place has truly fallen off. I've visited this place a few times before writing this review and realized that this place is not what it used to be. My child wanted strawberry ice cream. They didn't have it so the worker offered to make it. The worker grossly filled the cup up without considering the amount of ice cream or my budget. The ice cream was slop! As soon as you walk in your eyes will be delighted with the colorful Knick knacks all around! It looks like an Arctic cave that is super cool. Even on the ceiling you can see Icicles. We were greeted right away by a staff member that asked if we had been there before. When we replied no, she instantly went into explaining all the different topics and selections available. She told us there was Italian ice, gelato and regular ice cream. She explained the price is by weight rather than size of cup. And then showed us the cups we could use to make drinks out of our creations. The only two things I didn't like. Was that there were no samples available for the ice creams. They said it was due to Covid but I've been to other ice cream shops here in San Antonio and both had samples available. The second thing I didn't like was the cashier rushed our group to pay and I wasn't ready making my selection so I ended up very plain. Other than that the quality of ice cream is good. DESSERT: there are quite a few options of frozen yogurt and Italian ice. It seems like since they have both there are less options of each one. I choose the coconut, vanilla, and strawberry frozen yogurt. The coconut was my favorite flavor and very light. However, some of the frozen yogurt seemed pretty icy and not as smooth as expected. TOPPINGS: Soooo many toppings to choose from and this is where I think this shop does it right, there is basically anything you'd want on your dessert, from fresh berries, cereal, and all variety of gummies.
