I've had my share of Gelato shops and this one in Lincoln Heights is a good one and now near the top of my list for a tasty cold late night dessert. It has such a great variety to choose from. Each sample I picked was just as good as the next. While fighting off my sugar addiction and asking for a pint of every one, I made my smaller selection. Red Velvet, Sea Salt, & Biscoff. Making sure my scoop included a piece of cookie was important. Wifey did Crème Brûlée , Strawberry Cheesecake and Black Cherry. All strong choices and apparently all of them were too good to not share with me. The outside chairs were comfortable and the inside tables were clean and made for a relaxing experience. The overall vibe it gave off, was young and friendly. Paciugo, is anything but a slightly chaotic, thrown-together assembly which its name suggests. Love this place...gelato or bust! Now Paciugo Gelato Caffe is a staple for every time I visit San Antonio, TX. It is my indulgence, my happy place, my I do not care if someone is watching. In January, I will do the Daniel fast, so I am being totally calorie free in December. It is really hard to describe how delicious this gelato tastes. I chose the black cherry swirl...again! The black cherry flavor is so fragrant without being eye-squinting sweet. The gelato is dense yet smooth. You will be totally satisfied even with the smaller sized cups. Every time I visit, I threatened to try the coffee and then at the end of the day, I woos out. Paciugo also has Dubai chocolates, cookies and coffee. Service is always excellent. Paciugo's is one of the few if not best places for gelato in S.A. I got matcha and ube flavors the first time I came here and they were very good. I came here for a 2nd time just recently and got vanilla, coffee and taro flavors and they were all good too. I had thought about getting a cookie until I found out that they use prepackaged cookie dough like Otis Spunkmeyer instead of baking theirs from scratch. I'm so happy I found this place on the Riverwalk. It is a little bit hidden and it is upstairs so you have to keep your eyes peeled for this location. I wasn't expecting too much since it is in a very touristy area but the gelato, to my surprise, is very smooth and very creamy. I would have given it five stars but I wish it had more unique flavors. It's been years since I've been to Paciugo. Last time I went was the original location on the other side of Basse Rd, not at The Quarry. Where have I been??! Why haven't I been paying attention to my GPS, LOL??!!! All this time it was down the street from Trader Joe's. Shoots!! So my friend and I had just finished eating salads at Sweetgreen and were walking around the area. I saw Paciugo across the street!! We decided to go instead of getting Iced Matchas. What caught our eyes were the Taro Root(purple) so we asked for a sample. It seemed nutty to me so both of us ordered it. My friend asked if they had Pistachio which they typically have at Gelato places but they were out today. I got a Piccolo size with 3 flavors: Taro Root, Coffee and Mango Sorbet. My friend got the Taro Root and Salted Caramel which she noted was pretty sweet for her. We got good sized portions for the smallest size in a cup! There were a lot of seats available and even had huge Chocolate Chip cookies for sale. We sat outside as it was a nice, sunny afternoon. The Taro Root was nicely nutty IMO, the Coffee was smooth and not heavy at all and my Mango Sorbet was a good counterpoint of fresh fruit. I liked how it was a perfect size and didn't feel overly stuffed with the butterfat of regular ice cream. I'd like to try the Chocolate next time and hopefully they'll have Pistachio. Lots of fun, creative flavors and they even had a Spurs custom Gelato. read more

Why 5 stars? Because the ice gelato itch was perfectly scratched. --- --- --- My wife found this place while we were eating dinner nearby and I didn't need much convincing. The name sounded so familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on where I knew it from. We arrived and the plaza that this is in reminded us very much of Market Street in The Woodlands. And that's when it hit me, I'd been to a Paciugo in Downtown St. Pete, which was another area that looked so similar to this one: lots of higher end shops and stores and very walkable. So we went inside. I sampled a couple things: one being salted caramel. I was wholly unimpressed with it, so I opted for a scoop of cookie butter and a scoop of coconut, which both hit the spot. After we're done, I go look up my review of the Downtown St. Pete location. 2-stars?! Why?? Oh, I had salted caramel and wasn't impressed. So what we've learned here today is that it doesn't matter what city it's in or what decade you visit - if you go to Paciugo, stay away from the salted caramel (way too bland), and you will enjoy your experience! read more

You'll receive 3 hot drinks (espresso, hot chocolate, or matcha) and a gelato flavor for each! It's a tastebud delight...literally heaven in your mouth! So many choices you'll wanna visit every day! First time here and definitely not the last! Macaroon ice cream sandwiches and gelato truffles greet you when you first walk in. There are at least 30 gelato flavors with at least 8 dairy free flavors, and sugar free/fat free options available as well. Taro root was my absolute favorite! Although there was a line the staff advised us to choose as many samples to pick from! They were constantly smiling and offering flavor combos and cups, toppings, you name it. It's the best....thank you to other yelpers for the high alert on NOT ordering a cone, as it only allows for one scoop flavor. I ordered the small gelato in a cup which allowed me to get 3 flavors in it. Additonally, I'd recommend actually getting the gelato with a cookie added because it's a less than 50 cent difference for an amazing cookie and 2 flavors. Samples were allowed and service was amazing. No frills, no attitude. I tried two flavors and loved everything I tasted. Clean bathroom and nice seating with natural light. My gelato was around $6ish but was a generous portion and really tasted high quality. Taro and raspberry cheesecake were incredible, as was hazelnut and coffee. I enjoyed a regular sized tarot root gelato. It's a good size, but they have a larger size available if you want more. Noah went back for a chocolate chio cookie after his mango sorbet cone. Plenty of tables and lounging furniture to hangout, and enjoy just being out of the sun. However, they have a couple of small tables outside if you wish to suffer in the Texas heat. Affogato is one of the best things ever created, you have the bitterness and warmth of the espresso surrounding the cold, sweet, and creamy gelato. Stopped by for a quick treat while out shopping at the Quarry. It was late in the afternoon on a Sunday and parking was easy to find but on a busy day I'm sure it can be hectic. The shop itself is nice and has seating inside and out. I got the small cone which you're only able to get one flavor and apparently the smallest scoop as well. The small cone is the equivalent in price as the small cup but the cup has up to 3 flavors and gets topped off nicely. At almost $6 for a small scoop of gelato...that's insane. I feel punished for wanting a cone. Service was fine but at stingy prices for a small gelato? At least fill the inside of the cone before topping it with a ball that you can't stuff inside...or at least give another flavor option but don't make it the same price as a cup because that feels like a rip-off. Gelato itself was ok. I tried a few flavors before settling on a flavor. I tried tiramisu which I didn't like. It tasted nothing like tiramisu and I can't even say what it tastes like but it was definitely off. The cherry was ok, and the pistachio was good. read more

Super cute shop, I'm not usually a fan of gelato but I devoured this. Very delicious and filling, I got a small size but the serving was perfect. As you can see in the photos the gelato was very much above the rim of the bowl. I tried the Texas salted caramel, I definitely recommend this flavor.
