In the past I used to frequent Amy's a lot. Then forgot about it until recently after a late dinner my family was craving some ice cream. They open kind of late. The service is on point! They are all very helpful. But the ice cream itself is just ok!

Amy's Ice Cream is one of those San Antonio spots you just don't skip. They've got tons of flavors and even more toppings--pretty much anything you can think of, they probably have it. Some of the flavors get wild in the best way, like bacon ice cream or the liquor-infused ones they rotate in. Definitely try the specials they keep off to the side; those are usually the hidden gems. The staff here is super friendly, and there's this one guy who's been serving ice cream for over 35 years. If you catch him on the right day, he'll flick a scoop into the air and catch it like a pro--it's honestly part of the Amy's experience. I bring my class here on field trips whenever I can, and they always love it. Just know he takes his time with each scoop, so don't show up in a rush. Enjoy the moment. And the Alamo Quarry charm adds so much to it. Grabbing a scoop here and walking around at night feels like a scene out of a movie--especially during Christmas when the lights are up. It's one of those simple, perfect San Antonio nights.

24 Aug 2024 We wanted ice cream. First choice was Chick-Fil-A, but NS mall was way crowded. Amy's in the Quarry is on the way home. Amy's also looked crowded, but we went in anyway. As it turned out, everyone had been served and the counter was empty. I saw at least three employees. Good staffing. I ordered a small butterscotch sundae and the husband got two scoops of strawberry in a cup. Kind of expensive at $18. The ice cream is tasty, though. Kind of cool... the person scooping my husband's ice cream tossed the first scoop in the air and caught it in the cup. Yea! They have ice water with in a clear jug with cups by the exit door. Nice on these miserably hot days. So other than the prices, this is a great place. Would we go again? Sure.

I finished the entire thing in one sitting. It was delicious and the brownie was a generous size. could possibly be for 2

Amy's is the best ice cream! Their Mexican Vanilla is my absolute favorite--so rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet. I also love that they offer a huge variety of fun toppings you can mix in to customize your treat just the way you like it. Whether you're craving something classic or want to get creative, there's something for everyone. I only wish we had Amy's in Dallas--I'd be there all the time!

Of course I recommend Amy's! This is an awesome specialty ice cream shop that has a variety of flavors and toppings. The staff is really friendly and laid-back. This location is family friendly. I love the outdoor seating but the inside is also spacious enough if you prefer that. My favorite flavor is Mexican Vanilla and Sweet Cream. If you register for their newsletter, you get free ice cream on your birthday ;-)

I am picky about sweets for reasons, but this was so good! The local is rocking & the decor is super-cute! They were playing The Police, adding to the already awesome vibes! Jeff helped us sample a few really yummy flavors, including Cranberry Whiskey Sour, which was impressive! We decided on the TX Dirtcake as a shake, & it was perfection. Thank you, Jeff! Great service & amazing ice cream! Highly recommended!

Ok so I do love this place. Happen to be in the Quarry area three days in a row and three days in a row I visited Amy's. Quite embarrassed to say it but there it is. My absolute favorite is the malt milkshake with Mexican Vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmmmm:))))))))) The environment is super fun. The employees are always friendly and helpful. They make it entertaining, not just taking your order. We can't wait to go back

Grew up coming to this ice cream shop. They also have fun flavors, and the workers are very nice! We got the small oreo to share and it was more than enough! It was pretty pricy though- a little over $6. My friend got the vegan vanilla, but it had a weird aftertaste. There is a lot of indoor seating, and the decorations are fun! The music is not too loud either.

I first tried Amy's in Austin and I was so pleasantly surprised and excited to see and visit this location while shopping in SATX! They have unique flavors yet somehow I usually stick to my usual (cookies & cream) :) I enjoyed it so much! It was loaded with cookies and their tiny scoop is the perfect portion! Service was wonderful and ambiance is very lively! Very colorful and fun design of the shop! Highly recommend!

Excellent service and delectable choices! Try the sweet cream ice cream and the dark chocolate ice cream sundae with hot fudge, whipped cream and walnuts! Very busy, but they get you through the line quickly!

Big blue smoothie. It doesn't look blue because I had the whipped cream mixed in. But it's delicious.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.

The real issue came at the cash register. The woman handling payments was, unfortunately, not kind at all. In fact, "rude" would be the most generous description. It actually took my wife about ten minutes just to complete the payment for a couple of ice creams, which felt longer than the ice cream itself took to melt. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching how she interacted with other employees. It wasn't just unprofessional--it was the kind of scene you'd expect in a low-budget psychological thriller where you start wondering if someone should call for backup. So while the ice cream itself and the front-line staff were great, the overall experience was overshadowed by the atmosphere at the register. Small, crowded, and unkind is not a combination that brings us back. We'll pass next time.
