The ice cream was okay, but the environment was absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a year. They were horrible. The tabletops were filthy, with chocolate ice cream smeared all over one of them. The tables looked exactly the same when I walked out as they did when I walked in. No one cleaned them the entire time we were there. For a place that serves food, the lack of cleanliness was unacceptable and really took away from the experience. 24 Aug 2024 We wanted ice cream. First choice was Chick-Fil-A, but NS mall was way crowded. Amy's in the Quarry is on the way home. Amy's also looked crowded, but we went in anyway. As it turned out, everyone had been served and the counter was empty. I saw at least three employees. Good staffing. I ordered a small butterscotch sundae and the husband got two scoops of strawberry in a cup. Kind of expensive at $18. The ice cream is tasty, though. Kind of cool... the person scooping my husband's ice cream tossed the first scoop in the air and caught it in the cup. Yea! They have ice water with in a clear jug with cups by the exit door. Nice on these miserably hot days. So other than the prices, this is a great place. Would we go again? Sure. read more

Amy's Ice Cream was a delightful surprise on a warm San Antonio day! They have classic and unique ice cream flavors, including some that are infused with alcohol. I got a mix of dark chocolate and mint Oreo. The employee asked if I wanted the scoops side by side or mixed. I lived that there was that option! I chose mixed and he made it in a similar fashion that places like Cold Stone Creamery do. After he was done mixing the ice cream together, he tossed it way up into the air and caught it in the bowl! So fun! The employees seemed happy and were very friendly. The store itself looks so 90s. The colors and fonts used in the logo and on the walls reminded me a lot of my childhood. It was a fun throwback, whether that was intentional or not. The only drawback to Amy's is that the prices are a bit more than I'm used to at an ice cream store. A small cup was over $6! Amy's consistently delivers. Their flavors are always bursting from the seams and the staff are so friendly. My little one loves how they throw the scoop up in the air and catch it. They have 3 sizes for scoops and the tiny will get you where you need to be. Generous scoops, but just know each topping is sold separately. We absolutely love Amy's ice cream! We drive all the way across San Antonio just to come here, it's hands down best ice cream around. I get the coffee ice cream and my fiancé gets the Elvis. They have so many different unique flavors and mix ins available, you can really invent your own creation. I like that they have a menu of their own sundaes as well as their premixed creation ideas, but you can customize those, as well. They also offer cakes you can take home, and a "piece of cake in a cup". We have yet to try the cakes, but we love that we could buy a piece of cake in a cup to try it before buying the whole cake! There's always a line at this location but it's worth the wait. What I love about Amy's is they have a variety of flavors & are always rotating new, peculiar flavors and several toppings. The staff was always friendly and seemed energetic when helping me each time. The only issue I've had when I frequented this particular location is the waffle cones. The three times I opted for the waffle cones it tasted stale. Not sure what kinda quality control is being carried out but it could improve.
