I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.

They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. He went directly to work and I was shocked after completion that he had taken pictures of his every move and test stats and he also laid a tarp down when getting into the attic. When speaking after the fact my wife were very impressed with his knowledge, he spoke slowly, explained and answered all our questions in detail so we could easily understand. A very professional, honest, conscientious, hard working young man that we would have in our house again.

I was hoping to just get it serviced, but because of the age and the freon it used, I was informed that they no longer carry that freon due to it was no longer produced and that I might find a company that has it. Found one that was able to give me 2 more years and very much appreciated the honesty the A COOL AIR gave. November 2025 it was time to change it out. Made the appointment, received the estimate after inspection, was informed of the rebates both for SMUD as well as Federal Tax Credits and gave the go ahead. They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did! These few days in the 90's so far have given comfortable and cool air throughout my home and including my bedroom which never cooled off or heated up to the rest of the house. I held off on giving a review because I wanted to make sure the cooling worked and it does!!!! That is an example of good customer service you rarely find these days. We purchased the home and since then had them come back to add freon and test for a leak. Again, communication is always straightforward and clear as is their pricing. The technician who came to do the initial inspection, Modest, was also the person who returned for the follow up work. He was professional, thorough, and took his time to explain everything to us. There was also no upselling. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The service technician Christian arrived on time and courteously introduced himself and his service procedure. He used a handheld meter to measure pressures and other important data about the unit's performance. He showed me the results on his meter: a loss of pressure, probably because of a coolant leak. He laid out my options and answered my questions. After getting my approval, he replaced the missing coolant and added a dye kit that would help find the leak. He also mentioned the dye kit included a sealant that might close up any small leaks. After adding the coolant and dye kit, the HVAC unit quickly brought interior temperatures down. Short-term problem solved. Christian explained that AirMech offers a maintenance plan that I should consider. It pays for regular inspections and provides a 15% discount on the work he had just completed. I opted in. The money I saved that day will more than pay for a whole year of the maintenance plan. A couple weeks later, I called AirMech again to have them inspect the lines to look for leaks. Christian was my man again. He arrived bright and early and performed a visual check in the attic. Then he hooked up his meter to the outdoor HVAC unit. He showed me the results and interpreted them for me: all readings are in the "ideal" range. It looks like the dye kit with sealer did its job. And because I had opted into the maintenance plan, there was no charge for the visit. Long-term problem solved. AirMech's staff operated with professionalism and integrity. I will call on them for my future HVAC needs. And I hope I get Christian again!

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! He inspected them and showed me how each one was clean, dry, and completely fine. He then inspected the rest of the engine compartment and the undercarriage and showed me that it was all in great shape. Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. I am very happy with the service he provided and the price I paid! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Rolland came to my house and went straight to working on the fuse box without having made sure the…read morehigh voltage system of my Prius C was disconnected. Major red flag #1. He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

Stop scrolling. Call them. If you're vetting HVAC / AC contractors, here's a checklist I wish I'd had. Ask every company you're considering about these, and see how Arctic stacks up: * Solid warranty on the unit (10 years) * Solid warranty on the labor (3 years) * Reasonable price (the MOST reasonable price I found!) * Easy warranty claim (no nightmare paperwork on the customer) * Guaranteed to pass city inspection (and they have an option to file the permit for you) * Responsive communication (between you and the company, AND between the technician and the office/billing side) That last one matters more than people realize. You don't want to be the messenger running info between the person who assessed your house and the person writing your quote. With Arctic, Roman handled the assessment and installation, and Steven handled the quote, billing, scheduling, and any other questions. They were clearly communicating with each other, so the whole process felt connected from start to finish. I didn't have to repeat myself or connect the dots, which is honestly rare when working with contractors. All of that you can figure out on your own just by asking when you get your quotes. What you can't really know until the job is done is the quality of the work itself. That's what I'm here for. Quick background: we just had our first baby, and our house is older and gets really warm. Once you have a baby who is hot, upset, and unable to sleep comfortably, cooling suddenly becomes a lot more urgent. A full HVAC system wasn't in the cards right now, so a mini split was the most affordable path. Roman did the assessment and the install. He walked us through the options very clearly, explained the more budget-friendly option versus the higher-end options, and made sure we understood what we were choosing. I never felt pressured, which I really appreciated. Steven handled the quoting and billing, and he was excellent. I had a lot of questions because I'm not an HVAC expert and wanted to understand exactly what was included, how the permit process worked, what the warranty covered, and whether we could make a few adjustments. Steven was super responsive by phone and text, answered everything patiently, and customized the quote when we decided to go with a slightly higher BTU unit and / or when I wanted a detail adjusted. They even gave us a discount because it was for our baby and we're a small, first-time family, which honestly meant a lot. Roman came out within a week on a day we picked. He worked his butt off. He even ran to a store mid-install a couple of times to grab the right parts for our setup. When he walked me through everything afterward, the work was clearly high quality. Clean, secure, nothing sketchy. I've dealt with messy contractors before. This was not that. They filed the permit for us for a small extra cost, which was totally reasonable, and Roman showed up when the city inspector came so I didn't have to coordinate anything. The inspector was in and out in three minutes. We passed. Zero issues. Here's the part that really sold me though. A week or so later, after a heavy week of rain, we noticed some bugs in the house. I wasn't even sure it was related to the install, but I asked Steven. No pushback, no charge. He sent Roman back out the next day. Roman arrived on time, inspected everything, and added extra foam just in case. He even left the foam bottle with us. That's the kind of company this is. The unit works beautifully. The baby sleeps and is happy. My husband is happy. I'm happy. And I know that if anything comes up in the next year or three years, these guys will answer the phone and help. Call them. Our GE Monogram refrigerator stopped working on a Sunday. On Monday about noon I called Fix Me Appliance Repair, and they were able to schedule an appointment for that day at about 5:30 pm. Rim was very knowledgeable, and identified the problem. He verified they had the part, and was back Tuesday morning. He had it fixed in about 20 mins. We were so please. We were sure it would take a few weeks to get a service appointment, but it was only a few hours, and they the relief when it was fixed the next morning. What I got: * New HVAC, with new Duct system -- few new vents. * Insulation: Walls, Crawl Space, and Ceiling. No issues so far. House has been a more constant temperature since adding insulation. Will need to until Summer/Winter to see how well everything works together. Notable items: * They cleaned up after themselves after every workday. * After drilling the outside walls for insulation (a lot of holes); they patched and painted -- looks better than it did before :) * Attic looks brand new. Removed old equipment (two furnaces), and built a nice catwalk to the new unit. Can actually use extra space for storage. * Got a fancy new thermostat. * Got more rebates back from PGE/SMUD than originally quoted for.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!…read more I am extremely disappointing by the horrendous treatment lack of accountability and disrespect I have received from this company. I initially contacted them for a bid for a shower install back in Mid November 2018, I agreed to hire them after receiving the bid for a shower installation, to do the install on the 3rd week of November After doing the tear out myself they did not show up when they said they would, I had to contact them in order to be informed they could not make it out and had to reschedule for a week later. After the work was done and I paid in full, 2 weeks later after performing the finish work and sheet rock install around the shower enclosure I found that there was a huge gap between shower wall pieces and the shower base piece. This seemed suspicious so I contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer informed me that this was completely wrong and would surely leak if i used the shower. I informed Pacific rooter and plumbing who sent a plumber to come out to assess several days later. That plumber suggested that we simply put Calking on the gap to fix it. THIS IS A COMPLETELY INADEQUATE SOLUTION THAT WOULD LEAD TO FAILURE AND WATER INTRUSION EVENTUALLY AS CONFIRMED BY THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS! I refused this as a solution and they agreed to correctly reinstall the shower. After a week of continued calling emailing and texting to schedule the repair I was informed that they could not come back to work on it until the end of January on Jan 28 a tech from Pacific Rooter and Plumbing came out and instead of correctly reinstalling the shower ended up destroying several of the shower pieces and damaging the sheet rock even worse that what was required to reinstall the shower. I had to call them nearly every day for a week to get confirmation that another replacement shower had been ordered. Finally i got confirmation that an order had been placed through home depot on Feb 7th with an expected delivery date of the 12th of Feb, The home depot order for my replacement shower never came. As per my communications with Pacific Rooter and Plumbing the delivery date kept being pushed back from the12th the the 18th and then the 18th turned into the 22nd and so on and so on. I asked several times for them to provide me with the shipment tracking info since it was so hard to get a hold of them and receive updates. In the mean time I found the same shower for sale through another supplier "Ferguson plumbing" I confirmed that there were 7 in stock in Fresno Ca, a 2.5 hour drive away, this was in mid February. I even went to a local Sacramento Ferguson location myself to look at several showers they had in stock from a previous bulk order for another customer that happened to be damaged. despite informing them that there were showers in stock in Fresno they never went to pick one up. They claimed that they were unable to find the parts through Ferguson and it took me emailing them the confirmation I got from Ferguson for them to acknowledge it as alternative. I continued to call calling their office only to be continually promised that it would only be "a few more days, we will be able to do it next week" I lost trust in their honesty and ordered the correct shower myself through home depot in the beginning of March **The shower I ordered myself through home depot came in a little over a week, yet had minor damage. then I reordered and received another shower in a week and a half!** I promptly installed it in a few hours myself without damaging it like Their tech had done. So far I am out over 3,100 dollars which does not include the time I have spent trying to communicate with this company and help them track down a shower or the extra time and money it will take to fix the sheet rock around the shower they installed incorrectly then subsequently butchered. I called today to ask for my money back and was treated extremely disrespectfully. The person on the phone told to to "go ahead go ahead and press charges." DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY Pacific Rooter and plumbing are not only incompetent but are disrespectful Crooks.

We had mixed feeling about this company. The staff is nice (especially Ted and Joe) and the work…read morethey do is pretty good. Our biggest two complaints were they didn't communicate very well and they never stuck to the timelines. We were having a new tub and tile surround installed. We received a quote for one price, but then it kept changing. The original quote included the tub and demo, all the parts, labor and materials (except tile). We did try to cut the cost by doing our own demo and the contractor suggested we pick our own tub, because we could get one we really wanted. So we purchased our own tub, did the demo and purchased all the supplies for tile. The price went down about $150. That seemed off to me, but we shopped around and ultimatly we were told that the price quoted was actually really good. So we didn't question it and moved on. In hindsight I should have done some more research. We were told the job would take 4 days. It lasted 2 weeks. They started Monday before last and everything was completed yesterday. They subcontractored the job to several people resulting in delays. One person did the tub install, another 2 did the drywall and one person for the tile. The tub was installed on that 1st Monday. Then there was no work done on Tuesday or Wednesday, because the drywall guy wasn't available. They kept saying we'll let you know, but they never did. We always had to initiate contact. We had already taken the time off work, so it was really inconvenient to miss those days of work for no reason. The drywall was finally put up on Thursday and hardibacker installed on Friday. The following Monday the tile guy came out. He completed his work by Wednesday. Then the contractor was supposed to come out on Thursday to install the fixtures, but he was busy. He ended up coming out on Saturday. Then we scheduled the drywall guy to come out on Tuesday and finish patching up a hole in the wall. He didn't show up when he was supposed to, so he had to come back the next day. Now that everything is complete we are happy with the end results, but it took way longer than expected. When it came to communication it was like pulling teeth. We always had to initiate contact, because they didn't keep in contact with us. Setting up a time for the job to start was hit and miss. We asked Prashant for a start date, but he never responded. Luckily I had the contractor's cellphone number so I called him. When they did start, time frames we're just guestimations. They would say so and so might come out in this day and then we wouldn't hear from anyone. They also had a hard time communicating with each other. The tile guy thought we bought all of the supplies for the job, but we were told the contractor was going to cover it. We had to run to Rocklin several times to get different tile material. They took some of the material costs off the final total. All and all the work is really nice and they were very reasonably priced. The people we worked with were really nice and very curtious. They just need to improve their communication skills, response time and job completion time frames. We missed a lot of work and had to make last minute childcare plans to accommodate their forever changing timelines.
