Wanda, Billy and Justin went out of their way to get our heat back on- all in the middle of the snow and ice left after the late January ice storm. The heat is back on! We have been using them for a few years. Always great service in person and on the phone. ​

Zero integrity. Pointless having an extended warranty that is non transferable. Left with a $500 invoice. I would do without heating or cooling before using or recommend this company. Everything is about how much you can be gouged for and make as much money as possible. read more

I'm updating my review and thus splitting the difference at a 3 star. After all of our issues, we got a call from Bill the owner. With a very very short period of time all of our issues were resolved and we had what we needed. Bill lived up to his promises, was a man of his word, was humble, respectful, showed humility and overall was a good man. For lack of a better term, he was "old school" and seemed to be a gentlemen you could make a keep a deal with simply through a handshake. All of our previous experience were very good with this company and because Bill stepped in we will keep Arctic Sun as our go to for our heating and cooling needs. read more

Used to be a customer of All County which was apparently bought by Arctic Sun. My heating unit was having trouble starting. They way over-charged me for replacing a pressure switch (over $350) that really did not need to be replaced. Never going back to them. You be forewarned too. read more

Mike and Billy installed a new hot water tank. They took great care removing the old and bringing in the new. Mike took exceptional care to see that there were no water leaks and that the new unit was working properly. The job took longer than they expected but they were very professional. My A/C went out on a Thursday morning, I called Arctic Sun and by that afternoon they had the world's nicest, happiest tech - Damon at my house preparing an estimate. I knew that my system needed to be replaced. We went over the costs and financing options. There was absolutely no pressure but I knew I wanted it done ASAP. He promised that the work could be completed by mid-week. To my complete surprise, I received a message the next morning that if I could be available they would install it that day. By the end of the day Friday the whole system had been replaced, everything cleaned up and the house was cooling off. I cannot say enough what a great experience this was for us. I am amending my previous review based on a hope that Arctic Sun will truly evolve and become more like All County, the company they bought. This is based on a call I received the day after I wrote my original review. Wanda, one of the employees from All County who has always been amazingly helpful, called out of concern when she saw my review. She immediately let me know that the charges for the repairs were in error, and arranged to get me a refund. And, she assured me that the new owner was invested in continuing the great service that All County was known for. If I could give five stars to Wanda, I would. Her customer service is unparalleled. I am giving three stars to Arctic Sun for now. Even though my situation has been resolved to my satisfaction, I do not like the tiered billing system they use. I will have to wait and see how future issues are handled, and hopefully my confidence will be fully restored. read more

I got rid of arctic sun Manassas. Beware of them. They were always looking for something to "fix." When something broke that was under warranty they charged extra for "filling out the paperwork." The company I use now comes twice a year and has found nothing wrong for a few years. When I brought concerns to the general manager she was less than helpful and most unfriendly. read more

Surprised to see the negative reviews here. They have been efficient, timely, polite, clean and have been better about scheduling our maintenance than we have. The technicians they send out to the Vienna area have been superlative. I also especially appreciate Wanda and Christine in the office, who are diligent about scheduling times that work for us and seem to always send a smile through the phone when we call. read more

Wanted to charge thousands for a fix that another contractor charged $200 for.. poor customer service/call backs as well

I was convinced to purchase two systems 2 1/2 years ago when my home was 14 years old. New system installed and upper unit is a constant problem. Last visit early January was over $350 and system went out again mid January and always seems to be out of warranty so had to pay another bill close to $400 2 weeks later. System is not good and upstairs is freezing in the winter and hot in the summer. Was not worth the $15k I'm still paying on. People are nice and they arrive on time but definitely not happy with the system sold and all the extra $750 this month on top of the current monthly payment. All this money and system still does not cut on. Issues resolved 10 days later after complaining. read more

A company that does not mind ripping off their customers. Guy charged me for paperwork for parts that were covered under warranty. Man was very nice but it's the company he works for that wanted to charge me 1k for labor! Hired an independent licensed contractor that charged me 300 to do the same thing! Run away from Arctic Sun as fast as you can. Technicians appear poorly trained. The company overcharges. Office staff is profoundly unprofessional. Worst home service company ever. I have clashed with them since they took over from One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning when that company went out of business. Our contract was apparently switched to Arctic Sun without our knowledge or permission. This week was the worst and prompted this review. We called them for routine maintenance for which we pay in advance. Our air conditioning worked when they arrived, but did not work when they left. When I called to complain and schedule another visit, I was told A) No technicians were available to come to our house until for at least five days despite hot weather B) No one would come to our house unless I first agreed to pay an unspecified "service" fee if the technician decided the problem (which did not exist before Arctic Sun came to our house for "maintenance") had nothing to do with himself or his fellow technicians' work. After I complained loudly, a woman who did not identify herself told me Arctic Sun would no longer service our heat or air because I had been rude to her. She did not explain how our contract, paid in advance, would be serviced, whether we would be issued a refund, or whether another company would honor our warranties from the bankrupt One Hour Heating. She told me she did not care how hot the weather was, how long our family might go without air conditioning, or why we should pay a different company to fix problems created by Arctic Sun. She was terse, rude and crude. I would be happy to be rid of them if I knew other companies will honor the warranties that came with our equipment. She declined to answer those questions. read more

I have been using Arctic Sun since around 2004 and they are the best. They are always there when you need them and their service contracts are excellent as well as their pricing. Sam is the AC technician that does our routine maintenance twice a year and he is a very professional and highly knowledgeable person that we trust and appreciate. I highly recommend this company for anything AC, heating or gas fireplace related matter. read more

Avoid this complany like the plaque! They took over our old company- One Hour heating & air. Never even contacted us, we had to contact them. Then the guy came out claimed that our system was over heating- spent 4 hours here. Said the system was really broken ( never had a problem before system was only 4 years old). He then pulled up open a spot on the intenal system and started cranking a bolt that I had never seen anyone touch before. Quoted me 2k to fix. Asked me about some photos hanging on the wall from Comicon where I had been dressed up. Fast forward- I'm getting texts on my cell phone from the tech about me dressing up, can I send him photos etc. I call two other HVAC companies to check our system they both say our system is not over heating and the bolt he messed with is NEVER to be touched because it is pre-set at the factory by the manufacturer. So our system was purposely damaged. Now we are screwed and have to hope our system will last despite what they did to it. read more

Terrible install. System has broke twice in two years and they still make you pay under warranty. It takes them forever to figure out what is wrong and then leave you with a big bill. Terrible. They keep moving their business to run from bad reviews. read more

If I could give them no stars I would! We have a rental home in Alexandria and they came out the first time in January to service the unit as it wasn't blowing warm air very forcefully out of the vents. They said it was due to a compressor issue, cleaned the filter and serviced the unit leaving it working well. They convinced us to sign up for their service program where we paid a fee each month to get a discount on services and so forth. We did and each month they took out a nice chunk of change from our bank which we thought was fine if they provided the services and got the discounts described in the package.Fast forward to June, same issue. Vents weren't blowing cool air and the thermostat wasn't going below 84 even though it was set for high 70's. They came out again...claiming the vents weren't open and the filter was not only dirty but swept into air handling unit. They proceeded to pull 2 filters out of the unit (both disposable) however our unit takes a permanent filter. The bill of $185 came and after reading what was wrong we turned to our renters (assuming they were responsible for both disposable filters being sucked in. They said that the company didn't have a filter that fit properly so they put in a smaller one that was sucked up in the unit and our renters thought they just didn't put one in so they in turn bought and put one in--hence the 2 pulled from the ducts.) So when they came out a 2nd time they rigged/taped the to the HVAC unit, leaving the door off that housed the permanent filter (we still do not know what happened to that) and the unit is still not cooling completely. The thermostat will no go below 84. We called a 3rd time to get them to come out to fix this on going issue they said they fixed each time and this time, they fired us as clients! Saying that nothing they did was going to be satisfactory. We explained that we have called them to fix the SAME issue 3 times in 8 months and that is all we are looking for, someone to fix the issue once and for all. Apparently they do not know what the heck they are doing and they shouldn't be sending technicians that do not know a permanent filter from a temporary one and since when does duct tape fall into the realm of acceptable items used to fix HVAC systems. I called Arctic Sun to address problems I was having with my HVAC system for my house addition. Their technician, Larry, came out and addressed the problem in an efficient manner. He explained my options and through his explanations, I feel I made the most economical and best choice. He was punctual and communicated well throughout the entire install. You can see he takes great pride in his work. It was pleasant dealing with the office staff as well. High marks for Arctic Sun! read more
