I have driven by this place so many times over the years and never patronized because they were often closed. After eating here for the first time I understood they close around 3pm. On this occasion I visited in the morning for breakfast. What I love about this place is the efficiency and customer service. The register workers were very friendly and helpful. This place was very busy on this morning and it seems to be their normal morning rush. I ordered online and it seems many people do. The inside of the restaurant reminds me of a bodega where you can order food, purchase snacks, and convenience store items. The food, on the other hand, could have been a better experience. I get it, this place is a quick breakfast option and they probably overachieve with their simple breakfast items like sandwiches, however the quality just wasn't there. The attention to detail and preparation just wasn't there. I was very much disappointed in the quality, flavor, and presentation of the pancakes and French toast. The French toast was essentially traditional toast. I can't say I could differentiate between the two. I contemplated giving a 2* review, however, I appreciate their good customer service. Realistically, with a few minor adjustments on execution, the sandwiches and platters can be a hit which is disappointing to say. I will give them another try. You should give them a try. read more

There are no words that can describe my appreciation for George and his crew at Ardmore Carry Out. Recently, I had an event scheduled that I was helping to coordinate. One week out, I found out that the caterer that was scheduled canceled the job. I MUST note that it was due to us, the planners, dropping the ball. I then made a call to Ardmore and was re-assured that they could handle the last minute request and not to worry. All I needed to do was give him an idea of what I want served. On the day of the show, the team showed up on time and with smiles on their faces. Talk about being relieved!!! Then, to make the day turn out even better, EVERYONE loved the meal that was provided. I really wanted to love this spot but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the reviews for me. I bookmarked this place a while ago and finally decided to try them for lunch while I was running errands nearby. The parking lot was really congested upon arrival but that is absolutely not their fault. I ordered online and was told the food would be ready by noon. I usually give a pick up grace period because I don't want to wait on the food. I want to walk in, pick up my order and leave right away. Unfortunately, when I walked in at 12:15 pm, part of my order was not completed. No big deal really, it gave me a chance to look around a little bit. It's set up somewhat like a convenience store with chips, candy and drinks on display. I should also note that the customer service could have been better. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich combo for myself, the grilled cheese and chicken noodle special for my daughter, and the fried chicken platter with mashed potatoes and collard greens for a friend. My food was good and my daughter liked her sandwich but didn't eat much of her soup. The fried chicken platter was lacking according to my friend. The mashed potatoes were the only thing they enjoyed. They said the chicken tasted like it had been cooked in old grease and the collard greens weren't tasty. I had ordered a ribeye steak and cheese and that was the only thing I've ate on November 2nd and it ended making me constipated and I couldn't eat for a whole day till the next day immediately having diarrhea. I thought it was normal diarrhea but eventually the diarrhea turned into blood which sent me to the hospital for a week now. Our Annual Maryland Day Catholic Terps Pig Roast needed a vendor last minute for over 250 people, and even with multiple events on his calendar, George pulled off an amazing meal of BBQ chicken, pulled pork, beans, cole slaw and the magical Mac n Cheese!!! Enough food for the party and then some! Overheard by guests "What is in that mac n cheese - its like silk - and cream and everything delicious wrapped up in a warm spoonful" needless to say there were no trays of the mac and cheese! I previously visited this establishment. Great place to grab a quick bite. I ordered a veggie omelette -cheese, spinach,tomatoes, grilled onions, and peppers. It was delicious. It's a great size for only $6. Plus the wait is only about 5-10 mins. If you're from the DMV this is not you're typical "carry out" they serve real food and the menu is not limited. I tried the breakfast platter on yesterday and i gotta say that i was impressed, breakfast anytime of the the day is wonderful to me the portions are huge, with the platter it was eggs looks like it was about 3, 1 sausage patti, and 2 big ass pancakes which i didnt mind at all for about $8.00, compared to First Watch in bowie that was about $13.00 for the same damn thing and not nearly the amount of food as admore. Not only was the breakfast portions worth the money it was down right good, the pancakes so thick but fluffy and buttery and the flavor , if you wish to do healthy you really didnt even need any syrup, that just how good they were. read more

I have been getting a sausage eggs and cheese on a blueberry bagel and it is like a fat girl treat. They had a special today for the brisket so rather than trying to get dinner after work (with a toddler) I asked them to have it ready at 10am so I could get it on my lunch break. BEST BRISKET IN DC HANDS DOWN! I will probably call every week to find out what the specials are. They also packed my food separately so that it wouldn't get soggy by the time we had dinner. So yesterday I wanted something for breakfast but I wasn't sure what. First off, I'm not a huge breakfast fan. I didn't want to eat alone so I wasn't going to IHOP and I didn't want to spend $15 or $20 either so my options were limited. I Yelped breakfast and this little gem popped up. Apparently they've been here since I was a little girl, who knew ‍. The reviews were great and the pictures were even better. I typically get Turkey BLTs at diners and American carryouts but people kept talking about the hot roast beef. I called to order but kept getting no answer so I decided to drive and wait. They're located slightly down the street from UPS in Landover next to a liquor store. It's very clean and the staff is really nice. They didn't have the roast beef but said they had corn beef which I also like so I got that instead, fries on the side. A couple behind me got a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and that joker looked freaking delicious. I mean the PB&J was overflowing off of that bad boy. But I sensed that my eyes were getting bigger than my stomach so I didn't buy one, this time. Moving on, my sandwich was super tasty and my fries were fried to perfection (I like a little crunch and crisp but no where near burnt and that's what these fries were, crunch & crisp ).
