While the food and prices are at a standard rating, the customer service in the front is not so great. On more than one occasion the lady in the front has mixed up people's orders. She handed a gentleman my order, he opened it partially. She then proceeded to advise him that was not his and to bring it back. I stated I hope that is not mine and if it is I need fresh food. She indicated my food was fresh, however, from the looks of it, it was the recycled meal. On another occasion, she gave someone the wrong thing and had my group waiting for grits for an extended period of time. The food is amazing!!!!!! The taste, quality and quantity is well worth the price. It can get a bit busy during lunch hours. I suggest calling your order in. They have a website you can view the menu. My biggest issue is the customer service. The lady was very rude and hung up the phone on me. Also, when I came to pick up my food she was still not approachable, kinda rolled her eyes at me for no apparent reason. Real not friendly attitude.!!! Super nice owner I came by for some other business in the building and I wasn't allowed to bring my coffee into the testing center. So after the test I went back and got another cup of coffee and the owner recognized me and said another cup? I told him that the testing center didn't allow coffee in and they made me dump it. The owner was really nice and took mercy on me and let me have another cup for free. The coffee was really really good. I was surprised. Normally when it sits on a burner it gets burnt, but this was really fresh. I guess that's why it's called fresh deli. read more

This hidden gem is inside of an office complex, it's definitely fire. I've been a few times and everything is always so good but this past time I had a bulgogi cheesesteak - this is a MUST try. Im full!! lol located in an office building, you will find this comforting neighborhood sandwich spot with some big flavor. We got the bulgogi cheesesteak, fries, and the California club - all were solid choices and good portions for the price. While my bulgogi sub could have used more bulgogi flavor, the meat and veggies were fresh and cooked to perfection. You could taste each element and all were seasoned and complimented well. I hate overcooked veggies so I'm glad they know how to do it right! The california club had the same freshness from the avocado to the soft croissant. Delicious. And my fries - yes!! old school shoe string (with skin on) fries cooked crispy and just enough salt to flavor not send you into cardiac arrest!! I went to lunch at Fresh Deli and I asked what do they recommend because I just could not decide. Chef Luke recommended the Bugogli cheese steak. I am happy I listened because it was delicious. Chef Luke is a cool and funny guy. Also, he knows his customers by first name. I highly recommend if you need a lunch spot to eat. read more

I went to Fresh Deli 2 days in a row. First day I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich (clear as day on my receipt). When I got back to my office and opened my container I had a chicken wrap. Not what I ordered at all. The second day I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. I specifically told the lady taking my ordered I did NOT want red onions. The staff here are great, and the food is fantastic deli food (especially for the local area, I am from NYC originally so I always try to scope out something close to my bagel shops and jewish delis). It may not carry a bunch of different bagel sandwiches, but it definitely hits the spot when I have a craving for a breakfast sandwich or pancakes. Couple words of warning, though. It is inside one of the office buildings, so it can be hard to find. However, once you put it in a GPS, then open the office door you are led to, you can not miss it. Also, this place gets very busy during certain times. Especially around lunchtime since a lot of the Purple Line construction and WMATA workers go here. You are better off ordering over the phone and picking up an order. Earlier is usually better because when it does get busy, it is harder for the deli staff to answer the phone and take your order. read more

I'll start with the pros of The Fresh Deli. This was a nice little shop inside of a business building. It was clean and the decor was nice (and funny). They have a great menu and it's hard to pick just one item. I decided to try their steak and cheese and my friend for the shrimp steak and cheese with egg. Both tasted really good. The price point was very affordable as well. Now to the cons, the service received at the front register was not good at all. We were immediately greeted with attitude and when my friend asked questions about the preparation of the shrimp steak and cheese, he didn't get adequate help with his question. We also ordered iced coffees based off a picture at the register. We received two black ice coffees (not as pictured) and were instructed that we had to pour our own creamer. Ok fine. The issue here is that the drinks were filled mostly to the top and were difficult to handle without nearly spilling on the counter. My friend and I didn't want to spill anything so he asked the lady at the register if she could pour some off the coffee out so we could doctor it up with the creamer. She refused stating that she didn't want to touch the cups because of COVID. That makes no sense seeing as how she was the person to hand us the cups in the first place. And having multiple customers touching the creamer in the fridge isn't too sanitary in the times of COVID because I'm willing to bet, they didn't wipe them down immediately after we used them. Despite that hiccup, the coffee didn't taste bad. As I mentioned before, they have a nice menu and I'm not opposed to trying other food there if I'm in the area. read more

I was happy to cross paths with The Fresh Deli. It's a little upbeat and clean spot to find some pretty tasty lunch. It's located inside of a office building (office hours MON-FRIDAY) if driving I will look out for the big Metro sign that's the building it is located in. I wouldn't know this place exist had I not had to come in that building for business. The food is exceptionally good and very affordable. My only complaint is my food was seasoned very heavy. I suggest asking for light seasoning if you don't want heavy seasoning.
