Unprofessional unreliable What was waste of time. We needed to replace the floors for our buena vista condo. We made an appointment to go to the floor craft store to look at what options would be available. The owner 20 minutes before the appointed time tried to cancel the appointment. Highly unprofessional. The following week he came out to our home to measure. Though he did cancel the first appointment for some spurious reason. He then refused to acknowledge any further correspondence regarding estimates. An absolute waste of time and extremely bad mannered. read more

You won't go wrong working with Avo for your flooring needs. A friend referred him to us as she has worked with several clients who had great experiences with him. From the initial meeting until the final walk through, Avo was professional, listened to what we wanted, communicated throughout the process and was on time. We got a few different quotes and he offered a fair price for the quality of work we got. Some contractors didn't even bother to show up for a quote, while others quoted higher per square foot or added for "extras" that should have been included. Avo met me at our project and then brought me to his showroom to discuss options and to give some recommendations. Ultimately we ended up with a beautiful custom color that he made for us and a traditional herringbone pattern with 10" wide plank borders. I couldn't be happier. Area floor works did an amazing job for me. My home received a new engineered hardwood floor and a real wood staircase stained perfectly to match. Additionally, I had Avo's team refinish all my hardwood floors on the main living area, match wood in both a new closet and a pantry which blend perfectly together with the original wood. Finally, I had a hole on my living room floor from an old AV cable run. They replaced the board and stained it to main my original quarter sawn oak floor. Flawless. Lastly, due do an unfortunate accident from another tradesman, Avo came back to repair a stair to make sure I was happy. While my upstairs has new carpet over original (but damaged) hardwoods, I will have no hesitation to call Avo's team when I decide to repair the upstairs. read more

I have known Avo for a year now and have used him and his crew twice in my home in the Sunset. My floors are 100 years old and were in pretty bad shape when we purchased the home. He and his crew did an excellent job sanding and refinishing them and I get asked all the time if they are new. Most recently, Avo helped me patch a large hole in my floor where there was an unused air draw. The patch bends perfectly with the old wood on my floor and you would never know that there was once a hole there. Overall, Avo is a true professional who holds himself to a very high standard. I have worked with several contractors in the last year and he is one of two that I would recommend to friends. Avo and his guys do fantastic work and were very easy to work with. When I purchased a 1929 Spanish bungalow with original Oak hardwood floors, we didn't really realize how bad the floors were. They were covered with rugs at the open house and we were told that they were recently refinished. When we moved in, we noticed how bad the floors really were. You could see the rotary swirls from the crappy job the previous owners had done. I honestly think she had done it herself - it was terrible. When Avo came to give me an estimate, without over promising, he said he could get them a lot nicer and get out most the scratches. We decided to refinish the top floor only and put in new flooring in the living room later. He FAR exceeded my expectations!!! Avo and his team did a fantastic job of patching red oak floors in the front of our house (1029 sq ft). The job required patching (where we removed a wall) followed by deep sanding to remove the existing prefinished, beveled oak planks. Avo was very helpful in helping me to choose the correct wood finish for my floor, and in fairness didn't push the most expensive option, he was considerate of budget and the style I was looking for. He was also very helpful with paint color suggestions. I hadn't realized with darker floors there are certain colors you need to avoid in order to prevent clashing pallets. Overall, an amazing finish, very professional crew. In and out in three days and excellent after sales work. The proprietor, Avo, was always responsive, professional and personable, carefully taking in the ideas we had in mind and offering - and executing - suggestions/solutions that stayed within our budget and timeline. I recently called on Avo regarding a mystery stain on the kitchen floor and a general question about shifting floorboards.
