Can't believe I haven't reviewed my beloved Area One!!! I've been here so many times I've lost count lol And every time I was happy! I love this salon. It's not the cheapest around but you are paying for cleanliness, new chairs, fancy decor and friendly faces. Which I think makes it worth it. Also they have the dip powder (SNS) which is a newer nail system that actually helps your nails grow longer fast because it have minerals in the solution. All of the nail techs do a great job, however Kevin is my favorite! He's very particular and is a perfectionist so if it isn't perfect he will automatically make sure it is without you even having to ask. He takes care of his customers, but you do need to make an appointment to see him. This salon is very clean and the chairs are comfy. The massagers on the chairs all work and they have a huge selection of gel colors and dip powder colors. Definitely my go-to salon!!! read more

Within one week of getting my nails done, I've had almost 6 chip. I usually get a gel mani pedi (natural nails), let my nails grow out and get them done every two weeks. I came here because I wasn't able to go to my usual spot. Although the reviews are good, the work is not! Usually when I have my gel removed, my tech would use the drill to take off the top, and let the acetone soak into my fingernails until it's ready to come off. I feel like they were in a rush here and used the drill most of the time. So much to the point where I could feel the heat on my nails! Lazy work with NO CARE for nail health. No wonder my nails are so weak and thin now. It's never like this! I'm so pissed off. When I came in I also had one nail that needed nail repair. There was a chip in it and I asked them to repair it with glue before topping it with color. She put a little glue and dipped it into the powder, which is NOT what I wanted. And clearly her craftsmanship was not good because this nail ended up chipping again two days later before the other 5 followed! I never have this many nails chip in such a short period of time. Usually by two weeks maybe one nail or MAYBE two would chip. But because they used the drill SOOO much my nails are now thin and weak. I'm only giving two stars because they were able to get me in right away, they had friendly service and my foot massage was good. They were understaffed the day I went and the worker was trying to rush between clients, which is probably she skipped the acetone at the expense my my nail health. UGH! Don't go here. It wasn't cheap either. I paid $125 for a gel mani pedi and nail repair. I was thinking about this review for days now, and after another PAINFUL chip I'm writing this review. Even when my nails chipped before, it was so strong it would last a few days before chipping worse or becoming painful. This is because my nails were taken care of, and were healthy. i've never written a yelp review, but this place really deserved it. the service was horrible, they treat you like a lego piece, they are very hard to understand and get mad when you don't understand. I went in for an appointment at four, when I showed the guy Andy my desired nail look he said he can do it it was a white glitter set with the ring finger being clear with gold foil. After filing my nails he told me that it would be $65 but he'd give me a five dollar discount in my head I thought that was very expensive so I decided to just go with all white. I told him I would go with all white he said OK. When I came to pay he put on the receipt $60 which didn't make sense because I didn't get a design in the paper at the front says got a full glitter set was $40 I then told the cashier that this price was unreasonable and she said that she would go talk to him. She went and talk to him and came back and was like he'll only lower it to $55 she then said that the prices on the menu can go up, I said that is not stated on the menu and she then said that she would talk to him again after the line slow down. I do not recommend this place whatsoever and you're better off going to any other nail salon for a full set. my nails didn't even turn out nice after this whole argument. read more

WORST PEDICURE EVER. For starters, the chairs are extremely dirty. When I came in, I got seated right away, but waited like 10 min for the lady that was supposed to attend me because she was outside on the phone. Then she finally came inside to start my pedicure and rushed through it! She kept checking her phone and was extremely aggressive and rough with how she would grab my feet. She didn't even fill the tub with water to let me soak my feet. Instead she would wet my feet with a spray bottle. The worst part in my opinion was the 15 min massage that came included with the pedicure package I chose (honey spa pedicure). She only focused on my toes for some reason and was super rough and kind of hurt me. I wouldn't be surprised if there's bruises on my feet after this. Overall, I wouldn't recommend anybody come here. I come from the Los Angeles area each month to see her. I only do SNS and she is the expert! Make sure you make your appointment ahead of time because she stays booked! I have tried other SNS specialist there and they don't do a good job. They have left it lumpy and my nails come out with NO shape. But that's why DOROTHY is the best and so is KEVIN ! Try them the are the best at SNS! For the pedicure I don't have anyone yet. I wear heels everyday and I have ingrown nails and I have not found my expert in that just yet. read more

The facility is clean and appealing to the eye, the prices are just right and I never have any issues. Kevin did my SNS, he's a perfectionist and is passionate about his craft. His personality was warming he made you feel at home and like you've known him forever. His attention to detail is why I will never go anywhere else. He is amazing and truly talented. Kevin is the best for SNS nails by far! There have been a few occasions where Kevin is fully booked and I'm forced to try someone new and every time I do I realize just how amazing Kevin is at SNS nails. Some people cake on the powder just a little too much and others don't push the powder to the cuticle line so it instantly looks off but Kevin does a perfect job every time. I highly recommend going to him if you're looking for good SNS nails but make sure you give yourself at least 3 weeks because his schedule fills up fast! Haven't found my go to for pedicures just yet but when I do I'll be sure to update this review. (: The only reason they aren't getting 4 stars is for a few scheduling mishaps that have happened that ended up costing me my appointment time without warning even though it was an employee error. I would say, make sure the person setting up your appointment reads back your phone number so this doesn't happen to you. read more

If I could give my experience a zero today I would. I was almost in tears while at this salon today and no one seemed to care. I called last night for the earliest appointment for acrylic removal and a basic manicure. They told me 9 am was available so I said I'll take it. I show up exactly at 9 and she says she'll have to find someone to help me. I said that I had an appointment and she replied yes I did but other people had appointments too and she had to work me in. I don't think she understands how appointments work?! ‍ I finally get seated and the tech is helping someone else but is turning back and forth trying to remove my nails and work on the other customer. Then I realize she is going to remove my acrylics by using a drill to take off part of the polish and then grabs a nail tip and tries to use it to rip off the acrylics. I asked her to stop because not only was it painful but also it tears off several layers of the natural nail. I asked her to do it in a healthier way and soak them off using a foil wrap with acetone as I've had it done before. It usually only takes about 10-15 minutes and there's less damage to the nail. She seemed irritated and confused stating it will take forever. She got up and returned with a bowl of acetone and some paper towels. She told me to soak them and I would have to try to scrub my nails myself. She made me soak for almost an hour and then proceeds to rip them off with a nail tip anyway. I asked her not to do it multiple times so she put down the nail tip and did it with her own nails anyway. One nail even ripped into the skin and now all my nails have bumps and flakes and ridges. We had to cut them all the way down to the skin because of how badly she damaged the torn one. They basically feel like paper, are very temperature sensitive and bend when I touch anything. The skin on my hands is very damaged from soaking too long in acetone and they are peeling terribly. The polish she did looks terrible because of how badly damaged the nails are themselves. No one apologized except the receptionist when I paid. And that was just a quick sorry. It's hilarious that they have a sign posted at every station that has a satisfaction guarantee but did nothing when I was complaining DURING the service. I'm not sure what they think guarantee means either because in the paragraph about the guarantee states that no refunds will ever be given for services rendered and all sales are final. This is my second time in this salon and will definitely be my last. Both times the staff was unfriendly and did mediocre work at best. Unfortunately my problem can't be corrected until my nails completely grow out again. Hopefully they will learn the proper process for safe acrylic removal so no one else has to go through what I did. read more

I have had issues with thin weak nail beds, and acrylics lifting in the past. So the staff here suggested I try the SNS powder system so far I'm loving my nails. The feel very light. I WOKE UP TODAY TO $126.60 BEING CHARGED TO MY CARD. I went and got my nails done on Thursday. They said there machine that you pay with is broken so they had to call the other store to charge my card. Someone on the other line was writing my card info down apparently because that's the only way my card could have been charged. It's been on me at home this whole weekend. I would like to speak to the owner or whoever thought it was a good idea to copy down my card info. What a shitty place. I'm never going here again. Today was my first time going to Area One Nail Spa- I had the best experience!!! Leanny (I may be spelling her name wrong, sorry!) did my fill and was so sweet and did an amazing job!!! I previously went to another nail place and wasn't happy with how thick my set looked and Leanny did AMAZING job and I can't wait to go back!! Ivy did my pedicure and my feet feel SO clean!! This is my second time coming to this salon. So far my experience has been okay but not great. I do like the environment and how nice the nail techs I've gotten are, but I did not like the way my gel manicure came out. I showed the nail tech a photo of what I wanted (see photo) but what I got was nothing like the picture (see photo). The lines she did are very sloppy. It was very disappointing because like I said the design was very minimal. I felt like she rushed when doing the design which maybe is why it came out like that. I'm very upset that this is what I paid for and it looks so sloppy. I might try this salon again but with a different nail tech. read more

This was the first nail salon I tried upon moving to the area last year. I have not returned as of yet... sorry for the delay in posting this I actually post my original review when I went there but then deleted my Yelp shortly after so I'm just now reposting now. Hands wise: While the nail technician was super-friendly and worked very hard on my nails, I was a little displeased at how high away from the cuticle they were. It appeared as though I already needed a fill right after I was done. Let me reiterate that she was such a doll and super-sweet but you go there to get your nails done so unfortunately I have to give it lowers stars for the final product... Feet wise: I enjoyed this portion as well with better results. Seats were very comfortable and they offer you drinks. My toes looked nice and massage on legs was lengthy. Worth the price I think. Nail salon in general: It was busy but not too loud. I waited 10 minutes upon walking in, with no wait in and was immediately greeted by the friendly owner. Inside is gorgeous and I would've loved to have gone there during normal business hours to not feel rushed (my fault) as I walked in about an hour before it closed (as a walk-in)... I spent around $100 with tip included for a pretty (but not correct) full set and nice pedicure. Not a fan. Gave this place three chances and was disappointed all three times. The front desk staff is rude. My nails chipped (got SNS) all three times within 2 weeks. On one occasion the pedicure was mediocre at best I paid for the deluxe pedicure. Prices are higher than most other nail shops and the quality is subpar. I left and went somewhere else and have been satisfied. My SNS lasts 3-5 weeks and my deluxe pedicures are truly deluxe. Don't waste your money on this place. Trini: I am not sure how to private message you and I don't have time to call you, so I'll just leave this here. I took the time to go through my bank statements and find the dates of service. I have no idea what you are referring to as a "check in service" as I never checked in when I came into your shop. I was barely spoken to and when I was, it was rude. The dates of services are as follows: 12/14/17 - I had SNS, a deluxe pedi and also brought my friend in for a pedicure. She wasn't impressed either. My charge was $90.99 for that visit. My next visit was on 01/19/18 - I again had SNS and a deluxe pedicure. This visit I complained about my SNS chipping on day 10. I was told it was my fault, I'm too rough on my hands. That visit cost me $85.99. My third and LAST visit was on 2/20/18. I only had a SNS done because my toes were broken and I couldn't get a pedicure and the last one I got on 1/19 was so bad, I didn't want to spend the money on another bad one. That visit cost me $35.00. My SNS chipped within a week and I haven't been back since. I will gladly bring in my bank statements to show the charges, made to your establishment at your address. By the looks of it your business has A LOT of negative reviews, all for the same reasons, and you have done very little to rectify any of the issues. So I needed to find a nail salon open during COVID & I saw this place. I instantly called & I was able to make an appt an hour later which was perfect. A gel pedicure is $42 which is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I also got dip nails which is $40. My finger & toe nails turned out great. I would definitely go back :) read more

I made an appt, showed up on time. I booked a regular manicure, not gel. It was SO chaotic in this salon and I was finally assigned a nail tech. She tried twice to upsell to gel. Once she began the manicure it was so rough and rushed, I timed it. 15 mins! If you are looking for "blow and go" type of experience you found it. If you want any sort of pampering or relaxation do NOT book here. I'll never book here again. Also 3 days now and the polish is cracking a chipping off. Such a bummer. read more
