It's really unfortunate that I have to write this review because I've been a long time regular. But hopefully this helps someone else not get ripped off or have their hands/feet brutalized. So here goes...I had gone in the first week of this month to get a pedicure and I had this older lady that all she did was file my nails and paint them. I always get the number #6 which includes a 5 minute massage and callus removal, I had also asked for a cut down. It's sad to say the good ones will be through and also get your ingrowns if you have any, give you the 5 min massage with warm lotion and get a hot towel to wipe the lotion off. (Because you know, that's what you're paying for right?) Nope, that's only if you're lucky and score a good nail tech which is rare. So, anyways crap job, I still tip her because I believe in karma and don't complain because for some twisted reason I feel guilty because she's older. Then, go home and end up doing my own damn toes myself after paying $50 for someone else to do it. ‍ Fast forward 2 weeks later go back in because I think shoot maybe it'll be different this time. Welp, I was wrong it was worse. Got a mani/pedi this time. The pedicure was trash, she rushed through it like it was a race. No callus removal, No massage, just cold lotion on the legs, wiped off with the dry starchy towel she used to put my toe gunk in. Oh and the polish is clumpy and patchy as in she completely missed the sides of my nail, so there's that. At this point I'm like do I dare still get the manicure? I think to myself...well it's a different person it can't be all bad.... Laughable. So, I sit down and tell the lady that my nails are really short so to please be careful. I guess that means go to town, because she starts filing them and I'm cringing and pulling my fingers away from the pain. I get the typical "I'm sorry" which is a cover for I'm just going to keep doing it. Then, the cuticle trimmer comes out and I'm like shit, here we go. Yup, you guessed it...cuts galore with a side of burning sensation from being dowsed in alcohol. Long story short, gave this place 2 chances to redeem themselves and I'm not willing to risk it for a third. read more

LOOK AT THE PHOTO. I have been coming here for a while and after today I am never coming back. I am absolutely livid. I usually don't write reviews but what happened today should have not happened. I went in for a simple acrylic removal and clean up because I usually don't go in and just peel them off myself, but wanted to go in to get them removed properly. The nail tech I had however, literally just ripped my nails off which was extremely painful. She ripped my actual nail off. She then tried to get me to pay for a service and I literally wanted to walk out. I still had to pay $10 and there was no sense of remorse for what had just happened. I wanted to cry how bad my nail hurt. I paid $10 for her to use a tool to rip my acrylics off, which is literally what I could've done at home but without hurting myself. The finger you see in the picture is the one where my nail ripped off. my natural nail was really long, and when she ripped the acrylic off my real nail came with it and pulled it off my skin. This is about the 4/5th time I've been here, and honestly it's not bad, but I does have lots of room for improvement in the management and scheduling department. Every time I've gone, there ALWAYS seems to be a Huge miscommunication on over booking and scheduling. (With others) This place is HUGE for a nail salon, so they are able to cater To A LOT of clients and I feel that there needs to be a lot better management of the scheduling of appointment & walk-In Times. I always see the manager walking round and round in circles, but instead of walking around she should team up with the receptionist and work as a team to get clients seen or a better estimated wait time and actually HELP get the flow going. Instead of walking round & round saying "they'll be right with you" 10x. Aside from that, I LOVE to see Ann. She's SUCH a sweetheart and is always so nice and gentle. She takes great pride in her work, and I love that about her. I will more than likely continue to come see her, and I hope she doesn't leave because I'll follow here if she does. Everyone is always very nice and helpful! they try to assist me as fast as they can (if i don't make an appointment and walk in). Of course everyone has to wait their turn (which is normal anywhere) but they keep everything very organized. I recommend making an appointment as they are usually busy. I go to Kenny for SNS and have been for a couple of months and he always gives me his opinions on what I should do and what will look nice if I am confused! I am picky with my nails and can say I always walk out satisfied! He understands my taste now and sometimes I even let him pick for me. I ALWAYS get complimented on my nails (thanks to him!) Everyone else is just as talented and they give you what you ask for. The whole team is great and they do the best they can. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AREA ONE! read more

I've been here about 4 times, each time I've met with Vicky to do my Nails and Linda for my pedicures. Vicky does a great job I've had no complaints thus far. I love that she's super fast year produces quality work. Linda is just great! She really takes her time with you and is just a sweet lady overall. My sister only sees Kevin and says that he's the best nail artist she has ever had. I can agree because her nails are always on point! I hate that I always forget to take pictures of my nails and toes but will do next visit. read more

I honestly only come here because my favorite nail artist works here. I am taking two stars away for the two times the owner pushes me off to a different person because she overbooks my artist. It annoys me every time. My recent experience pushed me over the edge. To think I was going to get a pedicure and a facial that day as well. I just left and had my services done elsewhere. I made an appointment and requested my nail artist. Book accordingly and stop being unprofessional. Stop rushing and pressure your nail artist because you dont know how to schedule. Grrrrrr..... I only give 2 stars because the girls at the front desk were super nice and friendly. However there was a huge communication barrier between me and Tina who did my manicure. I said from the moment I sat down that I wanted a chrome gel manicure. She put FOUR different powders on my nails (fairy dust, rogo?) etc before I finally got what I was asking for with the unichrome dust. Each time she put the wrong powder on she had to rebuff my nails too which was getting rough on my skin. This is a popular nail trend... I would think a professional nail tech would know what it is. So me and my friend went and we waited about 30mins before we were seen. They were super nice and really clean. Vicky is the best! I always bring her my Instagram nail inspirations and she goes above and beyond to make them a reality. My nails always lasts a full 3 weeks when she does them and I definitely recommend her if you are interested in out of the ordinary manicures and nail designs. I was contemplating whether to write this review or not. I have been coming here since 2016. Throughout the years, I never really found a nail tech that I wanted to keep as my main so I just jumped around to see how different the work was. For the most part, I was really happy each time. Very rarely I would be disappointed but today I am beyond disappointed with Area One. I got my nails done yesterday by an older gentleman (Not Ken/Kenny) Off the bat he was pretty rough on my nails. I haven't had them done in a while so I just assumed I was sensitive. Once he started drilling, he cut my pinky. Really bad. The manager came over and saw and was concerned and sprayed peroxide on my nail. They both apologized to me but I was so over being there for two hours at that point that I just wanted to leave. I got up to pay with zero compensation for my cut nails, just an apology. I regret paying but I didn't have the energy to argue. He cut five of my fingers and I am so sore today. Cutting a nail should never be acceptable when I am paying $40. I am so disappointed in Area One. I am pregnant and very strict about my health and this is very concerning to me. Unfortunately, Area One lost a valued customer. I will not be returning after this visit. read more

I couldn't have been more disappointed in my experience at this salon. I don't really have a good track record with salons in corona and I went here solely because of the pictures and reviews on Yelp. Boy did I waste $30. When I got there I was pleasantly greeted by the receptionist which was nice. The technician who was standing next to her however, was the total opposite. Unfortunately this turned out to be the woman doing my nails. Vicky, I learned from her name tag, was as unpleasant as they come. There was no "Hi how are you, what's your name, how did you hear about us" none of that. I understand language barriers are real, so I'll chock it up to that. I had hoped she'd warm up a bit through the experience but that didn't happen. She would even toss my hands back to me after she was finished. There was no gentleness at all. I showed her a picture of a design that was done in the shop before as an example of how I wanted my nails. A simple marble design on my ring nail only. I have no clue what she did. Already irritated with the service I already experienced, I ended up telling her to take it off and just do them all one color. When it was time for me to pay the pleasant receptionist ask how was everything and I told her flat out "I showed her a design that was done here and I thought she could do it, she couldn't" she then replied back "Yes she can, she can do it." If you're looking to get a really bomb powder dip get with my girl Vicky she is the queen of shaping your nails! She even mixed two powders so that I can get a solid color and not see through! I'm giving 1 star for the simple fact that I LOVE my nail technician Kevin and have referred numerous people here but if I need a nail fix or something small it's ALWAYS A HASSLE! My nail broke yesterday so I set an appointment a day in advance to come in and get my one nail fixed the following day. I arrive and am siting in the waiting lobby for half an hour. When I realize I have been waiting for 30 mins to fix my one nail I ask the front desk girl what is going on. She finds a technician quickly and I sit at her station. This technician asks me who did my nails, I tell her Kevin and she immediately tells me she cannot fix my nail and I need to wait for Kevin. Mind you Kevin is fully booked for the next 2 days and isn't even at the shop at this time. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT?? Not really! If this is the case why schedule an appointment for me? It's pretty rude to have me siting in your shop for 30 mins with an appointment to be told someone won't fix my nail. If i wanted Kevin to fix my nail I would have waited the additional days to come and see him specifically. If I wanted the run around I would have simply came in as a walk in. I have plans and don't have all day to sit in a nail shop while the staff pushes me off. I will not send anyone else to Area One nail and will be finding a new shop as much as I loved Kevin doing my nails. You would think they would treat you better being a loyal customer and the fact that you send business their way but nope. Kevin personally called me and VERBALLY ATTACKED me over the phone because I told his manager that HE came in forty minutes late the appointment prior , told me to go somewhere else and he refuses to serve me. Here's the story. So I've been a LOYAL customer to Kevin ever since he worked at Double OO nails. My last appointment with him, he came in FORTY MINUTES LATE holding Starbucks and food strolling in with his friend. Felt no need to apologize for being late or anything, didn't even mention it. I had class that I couldn't even make due to his absurd tardiness, so CLEARLY, I was upset. I pay for my nails and speak with the manager, letting her know that I'm disappointed with Kevin's lack of respect and customer service for his loyal customers. (Let me add that the manager TRINI was sitting front desk when I was waiting 40 minutes for Kevin's disrespectful ass to show up). She tells me that she will take a couple bucks off my next appointment. Problem solved. THEN. I have an appointment today with Kevin at 5 pm. Their host Marissa calls me and tells me he has to leave early today and moves it to 1 pm. I say sure. I get a call back not even a minute later from Kevin himself. YELLING AT ME telling me that he refuses to do my nails and to go to someone else, because I didn't "talk to him while he was doing my nails and complained to the manager". Let me repeat that he verbally attacked me over the phone. Let me make something clear. There should be no circumstance where it is okay for an employee to treat their customer with such disrespect. This man should not have a job that caters and serves to people because he is completely fucking clueless on how people should be treated in the service industry. I am currently waiting for a call back from the manager to discuss being yelled at over the phone for KEVIN ARRIVING FORTY MINUTES LATE TO AN APPOINTMENT. read more

I am so disappointed in this nail salon. I was told that having a "thinner coat" of gell nail polish it would last longer. Also my pedicure lady left me high and drum after painting my toes. Well one week later and half my hand has peeled. Also I went with my mom and sister and my sister had to get a new pedicure in less than four days due to chip. And also found out my mother had a horrible pedicure because her nail tech kept slapping her leg to switch feet. I've came here on and off since I moved out of corona but everytime Im in town I come here because I've always loved the service . Today I'm disappointed due the lady literally cut me on 4 fingers !! I'm not one to complain but this lady did not care whole time she was ruff !!!!! And left my fingers looking a mess and acrylic all over my hands and fingers ! This salon does beautiful work. However they do not charge the prices that are posted on their price sheet. I came in for a pink fill and the price posted is $23. I got gel polish and they charged me $36 for the fill and gel polish. The fill I had before this one was $33 for the exact same service. I feel if they post a price they should stick with what they have posted in the front. Unfortunately because they overcharged me, neither myself or my daughter Wiil be returning. I have had 3 full acrylic sets here. The work is good but nothing I can't find elsewhere. The pedicures ARE RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. If you get the cheap one -expect a 20 min service. I've paid for 3 pedis of various price pints to test their menu , they're all about the same. She used hot stones for MAYBE 30 seconds . Take a look at my photos, the polish is Unacceptable for 55$ and drying for the whole time my nails were being done , sandals included. My full set looks good but I asked for a accent nail and they just ignored my request. So when I checked out WHY was my full set 48$. They claim 40$ full set w/gel .... I complained to the owner and she said I was charged extra for the shape (short claws -cut half the tip off) and matte topcoat. She offered to take off 3$. It's not about that - its principle to me , you sign says one thing and she made numerous excuses as to why the price was higher this. They will secretly overcharge you and upsell to boot. If you can swing 100$ for a basic pedi and full set -have fun. I'll happily pay the price if the work looked deserving but it's just average. Never again and I'll be letting my local girls know of the huge rip off too. read more
