I went to urgent care and made sure I do, and they confirmed that it is a fungus infection. My nail technician is very friendly and sweet However, she lacks attention to detail. She's has been doing nails for many years and should be better about that. On my third visit my nails fell short of my expectations. The sides of the nails were not smooth and had gaps of missing color. I did the SNS nails since it seems safer than the light. As far as appearances go, this place is stunning and very classy. The owner is very kind as well... However, if they want to stay in business their customer service already needs an major overhaul, at least the 3 employees that helped my mom and I. The girl who did my pedicure had a terrible attitude from the moment she walked in. She didn't say a single word to me and was very rough. She dug the cuticle trimmer so deep into both big toes I had to pull away. 6 hours later they're still sore. The women who did my moms pedi was also very rough. She didn't speak a word on English and ended up giving my mom the more elaborate pedi by mistake. Now about my acrylics... the more I look at them, the more I hate them. They were the most rushed set Ive ever gotten and they look it. He was done before my pedi was done. I could've done a better job myself. They are so bumpy and uneven. There is dried acrylic all over my fingers and 3 places he cut my cuticles. He walked away without even asking if I was satisfied. Same with the girl that did my toes. As soon as I got home I had to take the polish off and fixed them myself. This is NOT the way to get customers to come back to your brand new business. Really disappointed in the way that they conduct business. So like most places, the women who did my nails rushed through it, but like damn in all the years of me getting my nails done, Area One Nail Spa wins first place in fastest, most sloppiest crap service ever. Maybe it was just the two that I had or maybe most of them are like that but I get the vibe they all just rush through. By the way, I did catch that when the woman was doing my pedicure, she was using dirty tools on me and she realized it halfway through and pulled out a set of clean ones. She looked up to see if I noticed. I did. But you know what? That's not even the real problem. The big issue I have was with the woman who did my fill. I was trying to explain to her that I wanted a soft almond shape (so not too pointy and not round - a shape that's in between) well, apparently that was too difficult of a task, even after I showed her and she said she couldn't do it. I told her that's ok, I can file it. So I ended up filing most of my own nails to the shape I wanted but couldn't really perfect it because she had rushed through and already changed the shape on the first two nails she started on. I was cool about it and thought, I'll just try to match the rest real quick. I do nails at home so no big deal. But when I had asked to file my own nails she walked off and did other stuff like she was annoyed and had things to do, so I felt like I had to hurry up. Because of that, I didn't get to shape them nicely. Then when it was all done she asked another woman in Vietnamese about how much to charge me and wrote down $30. Now, I may not be fluent or even skilled in basic conversational Vietnamese but like Spanish, I understand it more than I speak it. I was even nice to them the whole time and paid her a compliment in Vietnamese when I first sat down but I guess in the end they just thought I was some dumb ass. I said "Wow that's expensive, $30 for a fill?" She said nothing. When I went to the front to confirm the price, it says $25 (which I think is also a bit much considering how horribly they do it.) So I asked the woman at the front why it was more than $25... she went back to ask her and she said because of the "length" and the "shape." I'm sorry, wtf? They must think I'm REAL dumb. The length?! As if they were some long ass nails... I explained to the her that not only are my nails medium/short (SHOWS MY HAND) but that I was the one to file the shape of my own nails so how is she going to charge me extra for something THAT I DID? I don't care if it was $5, it's the principle. This place is already overcharging for a shit service and then you wanna charge extra because what? You're embarrassed you couldn't shape my nails the way I wanted you to and I had to sit there and do it myself? Were you annoyed that I wanted you to do a nice job with my nails? Also, you shredded the hell out of my cuticles with the drill which made my thumb hurt and slapped on the paint, the top coat doesn't even cover all of the paint but hey, charge me more money! I guess that's to be expected when you just run people through like a mill to get your money. The woman at the front did not argue with me and did not charge the extra $5 and I'm sure that not everyone there is like that but suffice to say I am never coming back to this place because of this. read more

DON'T come unless you want your hands to be cut up. I came in on Sunday and I had made an appointment 4 hours ahead. They gave me my appointment, then when I arrived they changed my technician. I didn't really care because I've heard wonders about all their techs. I get seated and proceed to wait for 30min until the "manager" (I think she was the manger) tells me the technician "Lee" (that's her name so fair warning) forgot about me and that she would be with me shortly. Then she finally arrives and was so rough with my hands. She cut my hand 3times and filed into my skin and I started to bleed. I warned her all three time that she was hurting me but she clearly didn't care. And proceeded to say "sorry" and soaked my cut up fingers with ALCHOL. I've been coming here for almost 2 years now and never had a bad experience until today. I went to get my gel acrylics removed and a new gel manicure. I waited to get my acrylics off because I didn't want to rip them off and ruin my nails at home. Well the nail tech did exactly that. She didn't soak my nails or attempt to take them off carefully. She ripped off the gel and acrylics (painfully) using clippers and a clean nail tip. She then took off a chunk of my nail! It hurt so bad I wanted to cry. After that I didn't want a fancy design like I planned so I just told her to put a simple pink/clear gel color. Even that came out poorly as all the nails are crooked and mis-shaped (I told her oval/round). She didn't even clean under my nails fully, leaving dirt (from when I gardened this afternoon) and dried blood. Overall a poor experience. Might have to look into a new salon. read more

Saturday 10/8 I walked into this salon, asked for my acrylic nails to be removed , and to receive a gel manicure . With a walk in appointment, I was told the wait would be 20 min. 100% understandable with a busy Saturday morning . 50 min pass by, a nail tech finally assists me ... proceeds to RIP my set off . Literally tore them off guys. She was in a rush , and disregarded my concern to the pain I felt on my left pointer finger ( The night before I injured my finger at work , nail started to life up and was painful) Nail tech walked away once she removed my set, started to assist another client because she was in a rush to assist the next customer. I felt disregarded ,left the salon in pain with tears in my eyes, a bloody finger nail, and no assistance to remedy the condition of my natural nails. My nail is swollen , and possibly even infected with the horrible service they provided. I will NEVER return to this salon, they are so rude and REALLY damaged my nails. Called to speak to the owner later in the day about the pain her staff caused me, she called me a liar and did not care. I came in for a Gel $15 mani and Gel $15 pedi and the lady who was working on my mani was beyond rude she didn't greet me and she was positioning my hands ruffly. She applied the gel on my hand and they look like bubble gum drops. The front desk was extremely helpful and hospitable, something I usually don't experience from nail salons. She recommended the nail tech for my first booking, and what more can I say? I showed her a picture and got a nearly identical replicate. My nail tech (Vicky) was fast, focused and clearly talented at what she does but she was unsociable. I would rather my nails look good than my nail tech be nice, so if I can't have both I'll just bring ear buds next time. By contrast, the tech who did my pedicure (Nancy) was very polite, chatty, and attentive. I like that there are several pedicure packages with lots of indulgent extras. The lady who did my feed did a great job removing all the ingrowing nail area. I paid $7 dollars extra to get my callus remove and she only did it in the surface. The other lady that did my gel nails use a new technique that I've never seeing before , she filed my nails down with the automatic drill and she left them nasty from the bottom. Also the color they use on my foot was completely different from the one in my hands and I had ask for the same one. So disappointed. After months of not being able to get my nails done my husband and I treated our self to manicures and pedicures. Only three days after leaving the salon I developed fungus under my nail. The technician did not remove my old dip that I applied myself before placing new dip on my fingers. It was ok. Came in for a new set because they were old and lifting and i can feel them getting loose when i grab stuff with my hands. First, they said they were gonna have me soak them while i wait. That didn't happen. Second, they tried to persuade me to do a FILL, telling me my nails are fine, don't need a new set etc. i been doing acrylics for 13 years. I know i needed a new set. But they kept saying to do a fill instead because i "don't need a new set" -- after me saying i WANT a new set, they said it's because they were short staffed... even though you just tried to persuade it's because nails are still good lol. After basically demanding a new set, my nail tech wasn't happy about that. She cut my fingers, was super rough when taking off my previous set and i had to "flinch" my hand several times to hint to her I'm not comfortable. She didn't care. It's hard to relax and have some self care time when my nail lady + another lady were basically whispering and gossiping during my ENTIRE time there. I had no personal space as she was hovered over me, talking and whispering to my nail tech. My nails look fine. I asked for almond... some nails are rounder than the rest. One is significantly shorter than the other one. Some are pointy. Some are round. Some are crooked. At this point, i was so unhappy with how it turned out, i just stayed quiet and told myself to look elsewhere. The lady was rushing me, and didn't even have me wash my hands like the usual process due to powder going everywhere. She didn't wanna spend more time on my nails. She was clearly upset because i requested for a service i had booked for lol. Other ladies massaged the hands of the customers but nope, not for me lol. Will def be trying other places. read more

This NAIL salon has nice updated furniture and fixtures. However, I am tired of Nail FACTORIES using the word Salon. I have Been here Twice with 2 different techs and each one did not want to be inconvenienced by having to move to the opposite side of the pedicure spa chair to do my nails. So I have to cross my arm over my body to allow them to proceed with the manicure on my other hand. This technique does not provide the desired results (see photos) Would I recommend this place Maybe. But DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO MAKE YOU CROSS YOUR ARM over your chest so they don't have to move. Request that they move to the other side. WOULD I GO BACK??? NO, No and never My rule of thumb is everyone deserves a second chance but if service is the same or worse there is no Third attempt. Remember the days when beauty salons and nail salons were a place women would go to take a break from the day to day kaos and catch up with girl friends. Today the salons are full of loud chatter, conflicting TV stations and restless children waiting to be listened to by mommy. These places are No longer a place to go and relax.
