This place is interesting if you're in the area but it's units of money.. you pay for each item separately and select times for it... and this adds up so fast that it becomes too expensive that it really isn't worth it. If they just had a general admission price and "fast pass" type thing they could charge a general fee and everyone could go to the experiences how they feel and if they have tome for. I was expecting weirdness walking around the whole place.. but no, there's no aliens out and about you just have to play with the experiences and there's no shows and interactions going on in the main area. The drinks at the bar are amazing!! But we asked the waiter to come hang with us on their break and this person stated "we don't get breaks." Which made me feel EXTREMELY terrible for supporting a business that from what it sounded doesn't care enough for their employees to ensure they get breaks and lunches and such.. We bought Experience passes a couple of weeks prior to our visit, and we were excited. Once we got to Area15, there was no one to help us with questions about our pass and the experiences. There were only people for specific experiences. It was frustrating as we were lost for a little while. It would have been nice to have an information desk. We finally figured it out. The experiences were all mostly disappointing, except for the Liftoff. And we never got our sushi rolls (Kaia Handroll) which were included in the pass, as the restaurant was short staffed. We waited for 20 minutes and no one helped us at all, so we left. Wink World was a big disappointment and we all had headaches. The Grand Prix experience was also a disappointment. It was in one corner of the arcade and not as advertised. It was more like a video game, not simulation. If you do go, I would recommend paying as you go. Don't buy a pass. read more

It gets super packed at night, but overall was a cool experience. We made a reservation and than bought tickets for the omega mart exhibit. So worth it. They let us skip the line since we had a ticked event at a specific time. In their email they sent us to remind us we made a reservation, it let us know that if you take a ride share app instead of driving, they will also let you skip the line. Which is nice, but on a Saturday night, when you're ready to leave, everybody else is also ready to leave and the Uber app takes forever to find you a car. Torally my fault (I bought the wrong day online) but I still don't understand how Meow Wol couldn't just give another ticket for the right time. They did not reimburse me and I ended up having to buy another ticket. Staff was able to give me a discount but still .. my wallet hurts. With that said .. Meow Wolf's Omega Mart was kind of amazig and I'm glad I got to go inside. Definitely worth going to again ... will definitely do the (spoiler here). This was my third time to Area 15 and my first time on Lift Off - there is so much to explore at Area 15 its great to go a couple times to be able to see everything! My favorites are Lift Off, Meow Wolf and Emporium. Lift Off was short but soo worth it, we went at sunset and the views were gorgeous! It doesn't matter what seat you're in because when you get to the top it rotates so you get a 360 view. They also gave us holders for our phones to get some amazing pics. If you love old school games (pinball, Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter type arcade games, skee ball) and great drinks you'll love Emporium. Meow Wolf is so hard to explain - its kind of like an art exhibit/adventure park - you must go and experience it. I will definitely be back! read more

Area 15 itself is amazing, and nearly every attraction there we've tried has been so much fun.....with the exception of the Nightmare Before Christmas "interactive" experience. While the atmosphere was nice with couches and some cool video on the surrounding walls, there was nothing interactive about this. It was just a movie being played in front of us. It was advertised as immersive with lighting and audio, but that was not the case. Definitely go and check out Area 15, you won't be disappointed. But know that this is just a movie being played Area 15, you should really alter the description of this attraction. Kind of misleading the way its advertised read more

When you first arrive at Area 15, you'll be corralled into a sculpture garden staging area where a respectful, noninvasive security team will do their required inspections before welcoming you in. Approaching and passing through the overbearing yet well-considered Area 15 entrance may be my favorite moment in the whole complex. Most venues put so much distracting effort into their exterior facades, that the whole of your interior experience is a slow process of deflation till exhausted, you leave. While the curiously strewn about art out front is nice enough save for being a bit out of context, the real attraction here is this big empty entrance wall. How the towering industrial grey monolith with its signature door-cradling "A" (or is it a beam from above) functions, is by altering your sense of scale in such a way that you experience a subtle, yet recognizable shrinking effect. What happens next as you breach the Area 15 threshold and step into a nearly empty, if not for light and color, volume, is your shrunken minded self is suddenly possessed by the inherent possibilities suggested by such spatial depth- a very exciting introductory sensation indeed! True magic!! In a state of sensorial excitement, it's easy to forget you're in nothing more than a voluminous warehouse. As you wander with wonder deeper into the interior, psychedelic eye candy competes for your attention from every side. That said, the space itself isn't overdone or cluttered in any way. Rather it's open and breathes without labor, visually well-balanced and intelligently designed for jumble-free exploration- no bottle-necking here. The left side is dominated by Omega Mart with a spacious 2 story barcade in the back corner, the right a restaurant, a few retailers, and alternate "experiences" both upstairs and down. Down the center of the main floor are a couple of open-air bars, a bit of retail, and perhaps a few lesser "experiences". We arrived on a Monday night, which I read somewhere is Industry Night at the Oddwood bar? A live dj pumped echoing House through the entirety of the space. She was surprisingly good, so much so that we, and for some reason we alone, danced a bit- something I've desperately needed for far too long. Thank you beautiful dj whoever you were!! Area 15 is a beautiful space, one I hope to come back to again for live music and dancing- perhaps though best experienced later after the kids have been ushered out. Every employee freely and with ease, dished out smiling eyes from behind mandatory masks. I'm guessing Area 15, essentially designed as a blank, adaptive slate, will evolve over time as, in my opinion, the efficacy of some of the current "experiences" and retailers are questionable. My biggest complaint would be the need for more relaxed seating options scattered throughout the venue outside of bar seating. Though it is nice to look down from the railing above, it'd be even better to discover cozy little nooks and alcoves here and there from which to watch all the beautiful people and pretty lights, or to just bathe quietly in the music? Until then, you'll find me on the dancefloor if not on the floor dancing. read more
