I had my dog groomed here last Tuesday. He is a collie mix and has a nice coat. I paid over 60$ for the worst lion cut haircut I have ever seen. They shaved my babies tail to the point that he has two hairs left. I am so upset and reached out via text to where I got an answer that said we did not do this maybe you did it yourself and blamed it on me. If I could do it myself why would I pay you guys 60$? I have never experienced such terrible and unprofessional service. When I asked for a refund they continued to deny the haircut and could not even admit they made a massive mistake. We just had a HORRIBLE experience with ARFordable Pet Grooming. We hadn't been to a groomer since COVID hit and they switched owners - we had just been taking them to the vet for nail trims but that is a LOT pricier. Between getting snapped at by the staff and the fact that now my pup has uneven nails and one WAY too short and bleeding, we will not be going back. The old ownership knew two of our dogs are very nervous about nail trims and did their best to keep them calm, even to the point of letting us calm them down if they started freaking out. They wouldn't listen to what I was trying to say, and seemed rushed and rough with our dogs, not to mention flat-out hateful with us. Even to the point of raising their voice and complaining when the dogs started freaking out, struggling, yelping, and all the chaos and raised voices scared them even more. This resulted in them expressing their anal glands and pooping on the table. The older lady was even cussing about how our dog was "sh*tting all over the place." I was offering to help calm him down, but she snapped at me with a "I do NOT need your help!" With the previous ownership, our dogs were never the easiest to deal with, but we were always pleased that they were professional and did everything they could to calm the dogs and give them a quality nail trim. Today, for my dachshund, likely due to the fact that he was freaked out and struggling, ended up with ragged uneven nails, and one that was cut so short that it ended up bleeding for an hour and a half after the visit. I don't think they even put any styptic powder on the nail, just said there might be a spot of blood. It was a heck of a lot more than a spot. The younger groomer (who has blue hair, I didn't catch her name) was more gentle with our little chiweenie), but not the older lady who was trimming my dachshund's nails. So yes, I totally get that our dogs were not easy, but the rudeness of the staff member was uncalled for. As always, my husband tipped generously because we know our dogs are a handful, but overall it was a nightmare experience and we will be looking elsewhere for a groomer now. A little kindness and understanding goes a long way, and perhaps some customer service training might be in order for ARFordable (as well as perhaps giving a customer advice if you cut a nail too short!) It's unfortunate, because it used to be our go-to spot. read more

After some changes that have been made we decided to go back here to have our geriatric shih tzus (14years old) groomed. They have been consistent with pricing with us and the dogs come out looking great each time. I am glad I gave them a second go round. I used to love this place. It is now under new ownership. I really dont ever do reviws but thought I should put this out there I will start with the positive. They got me in same day. The groomer was so sweet, she did a good job on my dogs and the prices were fair. With that being said, there were other things I was not comfortable with. The groomer worked much of the day alone to include handling phone calls and the front desk. It took 4:45 minutes to finish my dogs. And last, one of my dogs had some scrapes and a small puncture wound on her nose that she didnt have when I dropped her off. I just dont know what happened to her and when I called the business they didnt have an explaination. My dog was fine and I have no reason to believe it was done intentionally. I do realize animals can get into things. I just worry about my fur babies so I wont be returning. read more

Called in one late morning because I was looking around for someone to clip my dogs nails because they were getting sharp. I called a pet hospital and they said they needed an appointment and bunch of paperwork in order for them to even schedule me in. On top of that they wanted to charge me $30 for that service. I called in, left a message and then was immediately returned my car. I told her I would be there in about 10-15 min and I believe it was the owner that came and took care of my dog very quickly. I would recommend them and they have good prices for the full packages. read more

I've only been here a couple of times. Last time I took my Mini Yorkie to be groomed was horrible for both. I stay with my dog for grooming my pup was on table dog holder was taken off and left attended. SHE JUMPED off the table! Then I get home notice 2 cuts on her which they never mentioned. My boyfriend takes my dog in there and my poodle literally sh*t herself.. because of how LOUD noisy and chaotic was in there, she was terrified and shaking like never before.. we've taken her to many other places around the country for the past 5 years she was NEVER this scared.. "Affordable" I don't know why it's called that since prices are about the same as any other decent place. there was dogs screaming barking crying all over the place and from the back, one dog was lifted not in a proper way and put in the table to groom, people fit dogs in left and right to make the money without even taking actual care of the dogs. If you love your dog, just don't. Wait the 3,4 extra days for any other booked place and take them elsewhere. Oh and my favorite, my boyfriend tells the lady at the desk, I think I'm just going to cancel because my dog is way too nervous and I don't feel comfortable leaving her, her answer was "WELL SHES PRETTY MATTED SO GOOD LUCK WITH THAT" I work with customers and with that kind of answer my employee would've been fired!!!! I am extremely pleased with the ease of getting an appointment, the care they gave my dog, and the very reasonable prices. The owner and staff work with you to get you an appointment when it's convenient for you. You walk in and it smells great, very clean, the dogs are happy and wagging their tails, you are greeted with a smile and a friendly hello and it all just makes you feel good. I watched a groomer take her time while grooming my dog and I saw how she cared for him and heard her talk to him like he was her own dog. The grooming was perfect. She did not rush, made sure his bangs were straight and I loved the great care and the time she took for him. No rushing, no hurrying, all care. I needed a new groomer for my small breed dog rescue, Compassionate Canines, and I found this groomer on Craigslist, of all places. As someone who considers themselves an expert in groomers, since I have worked with so many of them for so long, I can truly say that this one is tops. Carrie Stinchcomb opened this little business in a small building beside her home. Nonetheless, it is clean and attractive. Her tools are sharp and well kept. Her crates are immaculate. Most importantly, Carrie is very good at what she does. The first time I took my dogs there, I was thrilled with the result. She did exactly what I asked in a timely manner. She is good with animals. She is patient and kind. If it wasn't for the tightening of the economy, Carrie would be running her own shop. She is efficient and professional. To be honest, I like ARFordable grooming for what it is. I am not into froo-froo shops where I feel overcharged and my dogs are spoiled.
