Chicken kabob plate with grilled veggies and hummus.

The food is delicious but why in the hell does their garlic sauce suck? It's ALWAYS spoiled or taste like garbage. What a shame. Whoever is preparing the garlic needs to be fired. I've never tasted the worst tasting garlic until Argo. It's only been in the last year where I take a small bite of it and have to spit it out. Fix your garlic and make it fresh. You smell how bad it is right away. I would want to rate them back to 5 stars again but I can't now because every single time I have ordered from them I had to throw out their sauce. Disappointing.

Lived in Laverne for 30 years and never been at this location. Small location in the heart of downtown Laverne. My wife and I tried the Lamb and chicken bowls. Portion size was good. Everything tasted fresh and well done. Pricing was reasonably. There was a wait once we got there as local school had some graduate parties close by. Guy at register said he would bring out our food which made me nervous as there were a few orders moving. After about 12 minutes he brought our order to the table and it was 100% right. I would come back for sure.

This was a favorite of my sister and decided to try it out! There is a parking lot a few blocks away that is for the rest of the stores if you are having trouble finding street parking. Service was not slow as we were the only ones during that time. There is plenty of parking and not too noisy. We got the chicken kabob plate and beef kabob plate with a choice of two sides. The chicken came with hummus and salad for the sides. The beef kabob had hummus and tzatziki. I really enjoyed the sides a lot with the pita bread! Chicken wasn't too dry, and the steak was not chewy. Sides were overall fresh and delish! Would come here again.

Located in downtown La Verne close to the new La Verne Metro Station, Argo Mediterranean Grille is one of many varietal restaurants in the area. I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday, and found the food and service to be solid. Argo has been at this location for 10 years, and opened a second location in Studio City in 2023. It was a bit empty when I stopped in. It's a fast food set-up, where you look at above screen menus, order and pay. The freshly made food is then brought out to you for dine-in. There is a self-serve soda machine and a tap with 5 beer choices. The food came out about 10 minutes after ordering, and went really well with the pint of Blue Moon ($8). The beef combo ($20.99) plate came with 3 piece chicken kabob, 3 piece beef kabob, and choice of sides (got the hummus and tzatsiki), a few pickled vegetables, and a pita. Both the beef and chicken were good, with the beef being especially of good quality. The hummus was solid, and the tzatsiki wasn't just a runny sauce from the grocery store, but a solid starter. It also came with one garlic sauce and a good rice pilaf with vermicelli (Lebanese style). It was a filling meal, taking a bit of time to finish. Sometimes not planning for a restaurant during a trip works out, and it certainly did this time.

My coworker actually turned me onto this place. He said it was the best Mediterranean food that he's ever had.... He says ever since coming here that he compares every other mediterranean food place to this restaurant . So I said cool let's go check it out... And I have to agree with him. It is delicious. I had the kebab sandwich which comes with these fried what I believe is pita bread and they kind of remind you of Mexican style chips, and they were delicious the pita with the chicken and all the other ingredients that have inside of it is just awesome. He is completely right this place is amazing... The gentleman that works there is really cool and down to earth and friendly and just makes everything that much better. The place itself is really nice , clean and comfortable. They have some really cool music playing in the background very relaxing. It's a really simple mom and pop place and I think that's why it's so good. And like I always say, try it out for yourself and I know you won't be disappointed. It's just delicious.

Argo (The Ship) I have had many Mediterranean spots through the years, and I must say, ARGO ranks with the best of them. Situated on D Street in La Verne, Argo is a staple of the La Verne community. Their food is ALWAYS fresh and consistent. The prices are a little high, but the plates are hearty and well overfilling. From the kabobs to the Falafel, every bite is pure deliciousness! They have the best garlic sauce that they give you on the side with every order. The garlic sauce/paste is pure perfection! I put that on everything, and you will too, if you are a garlic enthusiast. If you love Mediterranean, then you'll love ARGO. They have 2 locations, one in La Verne and one in Studio City, and well worth the drive if you are hungry.

The place is a hidden treasure. Food was both delicious and well made. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. We found public parking behind this restaurant. Up to 90 minutes during the week. It is very bright inside. The ambience matches the greeting we received. The worker was very kind and went out of his way to treat us well. He even offered refills before he closed up. The lamb kabobs plate was flavorful and filled me up. The lamb was very juicy and tender. You get 2 sides with pita bread, rice, and your meat.

Came with a few coworkers and the spot did not disappoint. Friendly service and clean spot, nothing fancy. The food though, very tasty. Some may say it's pricey but the portion size more than makes up for it. I got the Chicken Kabob Sandwich and the chicken was fresh and juicy. Plus it came with some delicious chips. Definitely a good lunch spot

Good food, service was also good. Not crowded but it was also close to closing time, but spacious dinning area. Will go back to try more.

food : chicken bowl - juicy meat , not dry, very flavorful even without the garlic sauce or hummus beef plate- perfectly seasoned, smelled great, not dry, juicy as well , nice color rice very buttery and nice , addicting, pairs well with the meat i chose hummus and the shirazi service: very clean, employee wiped down all tables often employee also asked how the dishes were towards the end of meal which i personally always appreciate i also love when you say bye/thank you after the meal, it gives a sense of comfort as if you will come back ambiance: chill their design is pretty standard they had some pretty standard shows on was not too loud or eerily quiet, it had a nice relaxing and nonjudgmental vibe to it

I was craving Mediterranean food and stumbled across this place in La Verne. What a great find! Some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in a while. It's a little pricey but you get a really good portion for what you pay for. It has plenty of seating and the place is very clean. I will definitely be going back.

Nice, clean, casual restaurant located near University of La Verne. We were greeted by a friendly cashier and ordered combo llates. Food was fresh, flavorful & delicious. Ordered salmon, shrimp, chicken, hummus, pita chips and baklava for dessert. Noticed that there is a lot of Grubhub/ Uber eats orders. Will definitely be coming back to this place!

I'm so glad we did. From start to finish, the entire experience was A+. Our server, Junior, was amazing--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. We started with the hummus trio served with fresh pita, and it immediately set the tone for the meal. The hummus was creamy and flavorful, and the fresh pita was the perfect accompaniment. For our entrée, we had the spicy chicken entree, and it was outstanding. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, but the sauce was something special--rich, savory, and so delicious that it really elevated the entire dish. It was one of those sauces that makes you stop for a second and think, wow, what is in this? We also had the house salad with their house-made balsamic dressing, which was fresh and delicious. Everything was bursting with flavor. My taste buds were smiling the entire time! We ended our meal with fresh, delicious baklava, which was the perfect finishing touch. There's something special about finding a great restaurant completely by accident. Excellent food, wonderful service, fresh ingredients, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere turned an unplanned lunch into such a pleasant experience. As we were brainstorming what type of cuisine we wanted, we both agreed upon West Asian/Middle Eastern. So, of course, I hopped on Yelp and was delighted to findCafe X2O! Seeing that it was a Lebanese spot, I knew that the food would be pretty good from the get-go. When we arrived to the restaraunt for late lunch, we were seated promptly, given the menus, and water to drink. We ordered the chicken breast kabob plate, the beef shawarma plate, with sides of grilled vegetables, hummus, baba ghanouj, and toum (garlic sauce). Of the bunch, the baba ghanouj and toum were my FAVORITE! SO FLAVORFUL! As for the grilled vegetables, I'm personally not a fan of whole roasted roma tomatoes and a whole grilled zucchini. The chicken kabob and beef shawarma plates were pretty yummy! However, I did prefer the meat and the rice to be a lot more seasoned & salted. They both tasted a bit too bland for my personal liking, however, the proteins were tender and cooked to perfection! (I do tend to be extremely particular about West Asian/Middle Eastern food, given that I am West Asian/Middle Eastern myself and have high expectations when eating out - hence the preference in extra seasoning! ) I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have ayran (Middle Eastern yogurt drink), as most spots tend have this on their beverage menu. That would've been perfect to sip on the extremely hot day it was! I do plan on coming back here to try out their falafel and shawarma wraps. Highly recommend to folks in the area that are curious to try West Asian/Middle Eastern food and are looking for a solid spot to eat!
