We can here for a late night drink after arriving in atlanta. This location was close to our Airbnb and we decided to meet some friends for a drink. This is one of the places stays open later in the area so we were happy to see they had a good drink selection and some food options. We ordered the marge pizza, it was pretty good and paired well with the draft beers. When we travel we like to drink local so I was happy to try some local breweries out. We sat on the outdoor patio, it was a lovely evening to sit outside and watch the people walk by. The service was quick and attentive, I would definitely go back! read more

There are so many reasons we fell in love with Argosy. Where to begin? First of all, I enjoyed the fact they check vaccination cards and will not allow you in if you're not vaccinated. Secondly, they test their employees on Mondays to ensure the safety of their guest. But okay, some people are less concerned about these issues. The inside of the bar/restaurant is super cool. The ambiance is on point. Their selection of beverages is impressive. They have a large selection of beers/cider, liquors, and wines! Okay, maybe less wines. But okay, maybe you're only here for good food and service. Well my friend, we hit the jackpot! Our food came out expeditiously and was cooked to order and delicious. Went by Argosy due to the Yelp reviews. The service we received was not good. I don't think our server wanted to be at work. The braised short ribs were really meaty and tender. The sauce was savory, tasty. The mashed tators were watery. The peach pie pizza was unique and had a wonderful savory cheesy flavor. They skimped on the procuitto. The burger and fries were pretty good but nothing special. They're very proud of their little cups of fry dipping sauces but they charge .75 per mini cup of sauce. Now if you're going to charge that much for sauce to dip fries, the sauce should be special, it wasn't The hot chicken--spicy, spicy, spicy. The sandwich was huge and the best value for what they served. Check with tip was $120, too much for what was served. Would I recommend, nope. Excellent food. Slow service on a night that was not so busy equated to the loss of a star. The camera did not eat first as me and my wife were very hungry by the time the food came out. I recommend the Shishito Peppers (there are some spicy ones in there, be prepared) and the Penelope Pizza. I look forward to visiting again in the future despite the wait. read more

Came here last Friday (12/9/22) late night to grab a bite to eat and decided to get the Impossible Plancha burger. I wasn't sure what to expect but I really wanted a burger. THIS WAS THE BEST IMPOSSIBLE BURGER I'VE EVER HAD!!!!! Now I could be biased because my favorite burgers are the smash patty type with the grilled cheese on top and that's how this one was made. I got fries on the side with the Parm ranch for dipping my burger and fries which was the ultimate delicious pairing! If you're looking for a great veg/impossible burger I highly recommend stopping by! They also have a great DJ this night in particular and cute Christmas decor with a large live Christmas tree. I noticed my receipts on my second drink that showed I was being charged a 20% "Late Night" fee on my credit card at 1:33am, after giving a good cash tip on the first drink. I've never seen that, and a Google search revealed that Atlanta does not charge such a fee. Even if they did, why do so before 2am? Looks to be a way to score a few more bucks off a bill, before the tip, essentially having the customer pay a tip twice. If it's the tip, call it that. If it's an added fee, then it's just an unnecessary up charge. I moved on to the next bar at that point, which did not charge the fee. read more

Loved this place! Super fun spot in EAV. A good chill place to come with friends. We came on Monday when they do their $12 burger, fries and beer special! It was quite crowded when we arrived around 6, and only got more crowded! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The burger was phenomenal! It was large and enough to bring home half. It also comes with a hefty serving of fries! Make sure to get some dipping sauces as well (they do cost extra, but worth it). The yum sauce was my favorite! We chose to sit inside because it was a warm evening. The interior was so dark, I had to raise the shade next to our table to see anything. The server was prompt but not friendly, and the table was sticky, which was a big turn off for me. My friend got the Plancha burger, which is always solid. I ordered the lemon pepper wings, but the server said they didn't have any fresh vegetables to go with them. Thankfully, that turned out to be false. The two rainbow mini carrots were good, but the woody, dry, old piece of celery was disappointing. The wings were so, so salty, rendering them inedible. We only got through two of them by peeling off the crispy exterior, unfortunately. I mentioned this to the waitress, but she was completely indifferent, and ended up not taking any money off the bill. She did offer to bring out a different flavor, which we declined. In an attempt to offer friendly and constructive feedback, we headed to the guy at the wood-fired grill, and his rude response was, "I don't make the wings." I've eaten at Argosy three or four times, and the only good dish I've had is the octopus, but that is a seasonal special and not always available. If I return, it will be for the drinks because the draft beer list is plentiful. I do not recommend the food or the service. read more

The restaurant still provides the same exceptional service and dining experience as it did over 5 years back when we lived in Atlanta. Their Killer Tofu is excellent and so are the Mamma's Meatloaf and the Pizzas! My only issue was that the "Hot Chicken" Sandwich was not as hot as it used to be! "Argosy" is an old-timey name for a merchant ship. It's also the name of a U.S. pulp magazine, now defunct, that printed adventure stories. So, the aesthetic is appropriate. The dining room has that Beowulf-meets-Jason-and-the-Argonauts vibe, with thick wooden furniture. Almost like a few classics majors surveyed the job market and started a restaurant instead. There are carved mermaids and hunting trophies. There is a huge bar (mead bench?) with an equally huge beer selection. So, the neighborhood is kind of an adult scene. Across the Village, you're more likely to sit next to some hipsters chatting about some unlistenable indie band than you are to see strollers. Argosy has no kids menu, but is surprisingly kid friendly. We usually get them a pizza, which is made in a massive brick oven in the corner. We ordered the admiral pizza and few different beers from an extensive beer menu. My husband and I came in on a Saturday night and had a great time. At this point, it's really not about the food anymore. Argosy used to be known for their yummy thin homemade pizzas, but ours was a bit too charred and the salad was searching for dressing. Now if you're going for a cute and casual meet-up, the ambiance is perfect with indoor/outdoor seating and pumping music. I ordered the plancha burger. I subbed fries for a salad . So it was 2 pieces of meat had cheese, grilled onions,lettuce. The salad was ok couldn't taste the dressing it was really light. Very cool hipster vibe. I got the Penelope pizza, braised pork belly and the Asiago mac and cheese . The Penelope pizza was delicious! A great combination of pesto , red peppers ,mushrooms , and onions finished in a brick oven. The braised pork belly with purple cabbage was seasoned with a soy based sauce and a little salty for our palate but nonetheless full of good flavor. Asiago mac and cheese is definitely worth going back to get more. It was not made overly fancy like a lot of other restaurants try to do, but rather kept the basics of mac and cheese made very well with flavorful Asiago. Mannn, came here with some friends the other night to get some food and celebrate a birthday. Server was nice but the timing of the food was atrocious. Most of us showed up at 7:30 and got our drinks/food in within about 30 minutes. A few of us ordered the burger, 2 ordered pizzas and everyone else ordered deeper cuts from the menu. My burger showed up at about 8? Another friend showed up late, ordered a drink, ordered the meatloaf and finished all of that before the pizzas came out. The pizzas basically came out with the checks. The timing was ridiculous. They comp'ed the pizzas though which was really nice, and I will say that the burger was delicious. The lighting was perfect this time too so I got a chance to really take it all in. This place is a 10. First we ordered the spicy popcorn to snack on with mules. Yum! One of the first restaurants I visited after my move to East Atlanta Village. The neighborhood is awesome, a very hipster vibe that continues inside. The indoor/outdoor patio has a smoking friendly area, but it is separated. The art throughout it very stand-out and gives the place a unique feel. We were a party of 4. They have a pretty good beer list and our waitress was able to point us in the right direction. We got a pizza to share along with a couple other smaller plates.
