This was an odd food run. Probably the oddest I've had in ATL. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches themselves were aight. Emphasis on aight. Some better than others. They're def on the smaller side but quite economical so grabbing multiple is easy. However the interaction with the staff and the handling of my order threw me completely off and unfortunately dampened the actual experience of the food. For someone who had ordered online and already paid, it took WAY too long for me to get food that was already prepared and sitting on the counter. I walked in and it was almost like no one wanted my money. One of the staff passed by me to go outside and ran into me but didn't address it at all. Not even a "whoops". The young man behind the bar was casually talking to another customer who was clearly on their way out. No problem, until it became a problem. I stood there for several minutes not knowing whether to interrupt their convo, and once I realized I wouldn't be addressed otherwise I decided to just butt in. I work in the service industry and truly could never imagine leaving a new customer hanging like that. Mind you, I wasn't even in a rush and was enjoying my rainy day... which should let you know how ridiculous this interaction was. To make matters worse, they literally just threw the sandwiches in a paper bag. I don't mind minimalist packaging. But this was just disrespectful lol. All the sandwiches were just mashed together and deformed and unsightly once unwrapped. Unfortunately I don't remember any of them because they just weren't memorable. The interaction in the restaurant didn't make it any better. I've seen comments that some of the young (mostly white) "hipster" staff can be oddly passive aggressive to certain clientele... usually I don't agree with those views but man that day really made me think they had a point. But that could just be the bite I had because my friend really liked it. I love the okie dokie(?) sandwich because I love artichoke hearts. It's definitely on the smaller side so I would get two sandwiches next time. The watermelon salad was fun and refreshing. I wouldn't get it again, but I did enjoy the flavor. I visited Victory Sandwich Bar on a Saturday afternoon and sat outside, which ended up being the great choice. It's a cool, chill spot to relax, eat, and catch up with friends especially on a warm day. When you arrive, you'll need to get in line and order at the counter. You grab your drinks there, and then they bring your food out to you. When we first got there, the line only took about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. But as we stayed, it definitely picked up, the line ended up going out the door and wrapping around the building. The sandwiches are on the smaller side, but they're tasty and come with chips. They also have indoor seating available, but the outdoor area is where it's at when the weather is nice. Victory Sandwich bar is always a win for me. The sandwiches are resonably priced ($6-7) and come with chips. If you're hungry, I recommend getting two. For me, one is perfect to enjoy to have a little something on my stomach before gulping down their (world famous? or atleast Atlanta famous!) jack-and-coke slushies! The patio is perfect and the place is right on the beltline. There is also indoor seating as well to enjoy. They have a small parking lot, but there is quite a bit of free street parking nearby, too. It's an 'order a the counter' and find a seat kind of place, but there are a few folks that walk around to see if you need anything else. I personally love the tea-bird. My friend had the texas chainslaw massacre and enjoyed it. I've previously had the pimento cheese dip and enjoyed that too. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect, but definitely go prepared that these are not full size sandwiches for the price but if getting two of the six dollar sandwiches is definitely could complete a meal. Or you can get a sandwich and chips or a side to balance it out. I appreciated our server, giving us that heads up in advance of ordering because otherwise I would've been pretty disappointed lol. My buddy and I went and I got two sandwiches (Tea Bird and Bahn Mi) as well as the potato salad. The potato salad was not what I expected, but it was uniquely different. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was not that crowded. Parking is tough as this is a high density area, but they do have a small lot, which we were able to get a spot in. There is a large outdoor area with picnic tables and people eating, and some just drinking. This is a great hang out spot and the crowd is young. We sat ourselves inside in the smaller area to the left. The larger indoor area to the right is big and is a covered patio. The prices for the items here are low, which is great if you are not super hungry. Our server took some time to take our orders, but I got the chive dill for an appetizer and it was a bag of unopened chips and dip. It was good, but we needed more chips. For me entree, I got the diplomat, which was small, but a decent size for the price. The two cheeses (provolone and gouda) was a great combo and the sandwich hit the spot. I enjoyed the Diplomat and Hambo sandwiches along with a pasta salad. My daughter enjoyed the Diplomat and the Victory at Sean sandwiches along with the Ramen. The sandwiches are half sized and come with kettle chips. They are super inexpensive and tasty. I also enjoyed a nice whisky drink (Summertime Clothes) and she a vodka drink (Beautiful Girls) I believe was the name. Very pet friendly with outdoor picnic table style seating with a welcoming environment for your dog. They even had little bowls for your dog to enjoy a cool drink of water. It a chill down to earth vibe and they also have a Photo Booth located by the restrooms. My only *coaching moment* would be to place mirrors in the restaurant. I was skeptical as it's not listed anywhere on their website/menu, but I was SO excited to find out they can make their sandwiches GF! The Hambo was amazing and even bigger than I expected for $6?! And best of all - the bread didn't fall apart when I picked it up :') My boyfriend had the Tea Bird + the Brisky Business and was raving about them the whole time. Note that the Tea Bird "packed more heat than expected", as it has ghost pepper cheese! He also enjoyed whiskey coke slushies, they only have one size on the weekends and it was $6. This place was great and very low-key. If you're looking for a small dinner it's a great place to try little slider sandwiches and get a variety of great flavors. I tried the chicken sandwich and the beet sandwich. The chicken was definitely my favorite and very flavorful. The beet sandwich was a little harder to eat and less cohesive since it kept sliding around between the buns. The popcorn flavors are really great too. VICTORY IS MINE... easily one of my favorite spots to grab a drink and snack off the beaten path, aka the Beltline. But I'm willing to share! I'd been to the Decatur location many times and heard there was this second one but only visited after my friend lured me in with the temptation of Topo Chico cocktails. Parking isn't easy. But if you're coming here, definitely recommend taking an Uber/Lyft. Otherwise, there's some free parking on the street nearby. There's plenty of indoor seating, but I prefer their covered outdoor seating because it's the epitome of dog friendly. If you don't see a dog outside, something is seriously wrong. I haven't seen the Topo Chico cocktails in a while but one drink that is always on the menu is the Whiskey Coke slushies (I was today years old when I learned they're not called Jack and Coke slushies like I've been calling them all these years YIKES). You haven't REALLY been to Victory Sandwich Bar if you haven't had one or 10 of these. You can get them small or large and even if you're not a big whiskey drinker, you will LOVE these, especially on a hot day. Pair it with some popcorn or a fresh chocolate chip cookie and you've got yourself a party. I went in after working late for a bite to eat. Because I had to get up early the next morning, I wasn't drinking but chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I ordered the Hambo sandwich and fiund it to be severely lacking. I know the sandwiches are cheap, but they could give more than one single piece of prosciutto - especially when there'll so much bread. Had there been more meat, I'm sure the sandwich would have been delicious , but there was more arugula on my sandwich than meat. The part that bothered me the most however was how sketchy the guy behind the bar was with my credit card. I was sitting right next to the register and was paying attention when he took my card and walked around the corner with it. He was gone for some time, but he wasn't getting food since it came from the window behind the bar and he wasn't getting supplies since he didn't return with anything else and pulled my card out of his pocket to swipe it. I've dealt with that type of shady behavior before and got a weird feeling from him before and after that incident. Even if he was just going to the restroom, why did he take my card with him ? I immediately locked the card and put the card company on notice about suspicious behavior. Great little spot in Decatur to grab a bite! There's tons of room inside and they have a nice lounge-y type space in the back as well. The patio is nice! It was hot the day we went so we opted to eat inside. We had the Tea Bird and the Cuban - both were delicious. The ghost pepper in the tea bird gave it just the right heat. We ordered a carrot salad to go with the sandwiches and it was so crisp and delicious - a really nice compliment to the meal for sure. I also recommend the pimento cheese - the crackers were homemade and so good with the cheese. The bacon jam was just the right amount of sweet and bacon. Last - the service was terrific. Every single person working was friendly and nice. We even had a couple Of people say goodbye and thanked us for coming....so nice!! Ugh I forgot how much I've loved this place. Such a cool spot for awesome bar food and drinks. They've since expanded and added a tented outdoor area with tons of picnic tables but that means less parking. On a busy night, this area gets crowded especially with other businesses around. The two things you ALWAYS need to get here are their Jack and coke slushie (just as it sounds but it's heavy on the Jack let me warn ya) and the pimento cheese jar (shareable portion served with crostini). Their sandwiches are more on the petite side but everything is always on point. Service here was great during this visit. Victory is an all around incredible spot. They have really unique sandwiches, and some of the best chocolate chip cookies you'll ever eat. It's a nice tucked away little getaway in the Inman Park area of town. Definitely nice for lunch or dinner. A little not-so-secret menu item at this location is the "Vic Mac." A play on the Big Mac. It's definitely something worth trying if you find yourself at this location after 10PM, but you honestly can't go wrong with ordering a couple of their sandwiches. They have a very small parking lot and the street parking has "no parking" signs that were not enforced today. I think you'll want to Uber or walk to here if you can. I chose the spicy "Tea Bird" chicken sandwich and cold ramen. For $5 and $3.50 respectively, it's not going to be a lot of food. This is "nibbles" and if you're really hungry, you may want to order more. The cold tin of Lloyd's beer cost as much as that! The sandwich - chicken, ghost pepper jack cheese and mayo - was quite tasty but not that spicy. I enjoyed it in about five bites. The ramen - sesame, scallions and peanuts - was very flavorful and delicious. A little drizzly and cool, we opted to sit inside. On a warmer day, it would be awesome to sit outside. This place used to be so great. The food and drinks are still good, but this restaurant is no longer good for groups. There's also a lot of new rules. We had 13 people and the serving staff would not allow us to break up the checks. They said that if we want to only pay for our tab, then we would have to go to a separate table to order food/drinks. You are not allowed to order at the bar anymore, and you are not allowed to stand in the bar area. Our waitress decided to broke the rules and allowed us to have separate tabs, but the overall policy is not good. This used to be the place to go after shows and group events, but I guess it's not anymore. The Vic Mac tastes fantastic. Wish it was available at all hours (not just after 10 pm). I like the Palomas for a light drink. Last call on a Friday was at 11:30, so it's no longer a late night place. read more
