I really wanted to give this place a good review, but my haircut turned out nothing like the reference picture I showed them. And even worse, my hair is now cut unevenly. Also keep in mind that washing your hair isn't included in the haircut and literally more expensive than the cut itself. All i got was a haircut with shampoo and blowdry, but total came out to $61, which was $70 with tip. I think $31 of that was from the shampoo and blowdry, which I thought was included. The sign outside also says $24 for a haircut, so I don't even know how the total came out to $61. I really wish she had told me that washing my hair would be so expensive. I'm so disappointed with how bad my hair looks now, especially because it's so clearly uneven. I went to a salon that advertised haircuts for $26 on their gate. After my haircut, I was charged $41. The lady said that's the price for women's haircuts. I told her the sign was misleading and should be taken down or updated to reflect accurate pricing. It's not right to advertise one price and charge another. read more

I have been a customer of Flora's for 10+ years - previously at her busy Shine salon downtown where I would patiently wait for my turn behind a line of guys waiting to get the best haircut a guy can get (and can afford!) Now she is has a new spot in the Richmond...and the line is not as long so I felt compelled to come on here and say: "I promise you - whoever is cutting your hair now is NOT as good as Flora! Try her one time and you will see!!!" Flora has a way of understanding how hair is supposed to be cut in a way that shapes your whole face shape/ appearance for the better. And - she is not just for the guys! While in waiting area, I have seen so many women walk out with that same best-hair feeling confidence, cut to perfection, blown out for the gods. For the past few years I've been looking for a salon and tried many salons in and out of the City. Compared to many bad experience/cuts/gouging prices, Arguello Salon has high quality service for a reasonable price. Lidia used to cut my hair at Arguello Salon and I really liked her work. A couple of months ago I came in for a haircut and the owner told me Lidia was on vacation, then later told me she retired. I decided to try Arguello Salon because it was definitely the cleanest one I saw! I called 20 minutes ahead to see if they could take me, and they could. Lidia was my stylist. She was great! She's been a hairstylist for 10 years, and is really good at her job! I enjoyed talking with her and love my haircut. My haircut was $35, but there was a lot of work to be done! I have gotten my hair done once here and the haircut turned out amazing but for this occasion I went to go get waxed I needed a under arm and a full leg wax. There was many red flags from the beginning but it was an emergency so I needed to get my services done and it was the closest to me. First there isn't a very good private location in the salon. you are in a corner of the salon and with a curtain coving you but the curtain wasn't long enough so if someone needed to get their hair washed they will see you fully. My under arms was great the problem was my legs I know from past waxing services in other locations that you need to change the stick that you put in the wax every single time so it can be sanitary but the lady did not do that she was using the same wax stick throughout the whole service so the wax is contaminated. And the wax was too hot so I was worried that I would get burned. And a customer in the middle of my service came in and she was rushing through my other leg even though the first leg wasn't complete. She asked if she can do the man haircut before finishing my wax very unprofessional should have had more people open with her or at least say she didn't have time for a full leg. the whole back of my leg still had hair on it I asked for a full service and I barely got the full service not even half service because I needed to go home and still shave I will provide photos underneath and you will see I had so much hair I had left. She wanted to charge me full price but gave me a little discount. Not worth coming to get waxed but haircut are okay read more

Good cuts and nice stylist, but watch out for falsely advertised pricing. The menu clearly says "Haircut (child) - $17" but the stylist insisted it was $22 because my child is a girl. I didn't want to fight this during these Covid times, but if this is the case the pricing menu needs to be clarified. read more
