I had heard mixed reviews about this place, so I was a little skeptical, but I am a skeptic no longer. The service was super friendly, and though it wasn't the fastest drink I've ever been made, it was one of the best. I ordered a Greyhound which consists of vodka and grapefruit juice. They proceeded to cut and juice the grapefruits right in front of me! By the time my whole group had their drinks, we had been at the bar for ten minutes or so. This place is great. One of the best bar patios in town if you enjoy going to a more mature atmosphere. They always have a great food truck out there as well. The drink menu is great they have some delicious mixed drinks and a pretty wide variety of beers. It's casual but very classy at the same time. It's acceptable to be dressed up or dressed down. Love this bar!!! So cute and classy. The ambiance is very friendly and inviting, they even have cards against humanity for customers to play. Great bartenders and great vibes. I love this spot! Out of all the bars in Chico, and around graduation time, this place surprisingly was not that packed! They had amazing drinks, great service and the price was pretty good as well. Best bar in town, no doubt. They have create an awesome ambiance and have a really nice back patio that as a bar back there as well. Argus is all around a great place to grab a fresh drink or beer, whether it is for an afternoon cap or on a Saturday night. I have the most difficult time finding an age appropriate bar that is downtown, not owned by someone I have conflict with the way they conduct themselves/treat their customers, and have friendly staff that don't act high and mighty but finally here it is! Had an awful experience here during happy hour. We (2 professors and 2staff from Chico State) Made multiple requests to staff (both bartender and bouncer) to intervene when a loud obnoxious woman got in our friend's face. The woman was making herself puke in the bathroom (classy at 7pm) and when my friend offered her help the lady proceeded to yell in her face and follow her around dropping all sorts of insults. Belligerent train wrecks perhaps are expected in college bars but this place claims to be for professionals. Also, blatant disregard by the staff stating, "not our problem" and "we aim to please" from the bartender and bouncer when we complained? The only help they offered was giving US our bill. Unacceptable. Argus won't be getting my business and I encourage any Chico State faculty and staff from spending your money there. read more

Well crafted cocktails! Bartenders are helpful if you are in search of a new drink. Definitely good place to go for beer as well. One of the best selections for ipa's in town. Enjoy the patio if u want to be outside. Busy on weekends and a great mellow hangout during the week. It is great to have this bar in Chico. Can't believe how bad the service was tonight. I waited 15 minutes without anyone acknowledge me . Then I went to to the bar to ask if I could get service at my table. I was told no problem. Big problem ! No service in 10 minutes . I met my friends at the door and told them we are not staying here. I am sure they will tell their friends how bad the services is at argus. I absolutely love this place. Chico is packed with dirty cheap bars and this is a wonderful breath of fresh air. The atmosphere is impeccable. Love the classy feel of the decor and drinks. A nice place with Good drinks that isn't infested with drunk college kids! I came in here after I tried to have a drink at one of the higher reviewed bars, but had to leave after some drunk college girl spilled her drink on my wife, which led to other nonsense...anyways...so this place was a nice refuge from all that. Bouncer, I believe named tyler is a terrible look for a nice bar like this place. He is always rude, seems he has a social disorder with getting along with people. Has boogers always in his nose and beard. Very poor taste in hired work. Otherwise a nice atmosphere. read more
